I agree and I'm surprised to see this post on GAF to be honest. This election race has been toxic in general because of the tone set by the candidates and the process. A lot of insult slinging, back talking, lack of basic respect, back peddling, etc.

I feel irresponsible to vote at this point because I have been irresponsible in not paying attention to the candidates. The process and toxicity of it all has prevented me from being able to take it seriously. I'm sure I'll regret not voting, but then I'm also afraid of regretting voting. I'm too indecisive. Trump is a publicly gross individual and lacks maturity, wisdom, and tact. Hillary has views of government and policies that don't typically align with my own.

I just feel troubled by it all.

I've had an uneasy feeling in my gut all day. I don't know if it's because I woke up extra early without breakfast to get to the polling place or that the livelihood of countless minorities including myself rests on this
 
is there a place where i can watch the coverage of nbc, cnn or anything? these channels all dont livestream to germany..
 
I was joking about voting for Trump earlier. I just got back from voting after voting for Hillary and I'm feeling such pride that I have to share it.

They do. If u see the subredit, a bunch of people are posting themselves, in MAGA hats and almost all of them are minorities of some kind, or women. It's so odd to see.

However, I’ve seen too much stuff online where people are using “Trump Supporter” should not be used as an insult to invalid a person’s opinion. This has been terrible. Just because someone has different political opinions from you does not mean they’re a bad person. Everywhere I look I’ve seen this. I’ve LEGIT seen people lose their friends because of supporting one candidate or another. Lay down the pitch forks, people.


If anything, this election has convinced me that democracy is broken. The average person is too immature to have any ounce of self determination

Depends on the vote difference. It make take a while before they call Florida for either of them.

But once they do, they won't officially call the race until the west coast polls close.

Well if you're feeling antsy just hope it doesn't come down to Florida. That is not a state that has generally been called early. Obama won pretty comfortably in both of his elections and the state has taken from 5 hours to 4 days to be called.

1) 3-ish point polling errors are pretty common. Clinton's lead is 3-4 points in the public polling consensus (last few days helped a bit).

Trump has ran on a platform of racism, bigotry and hatred. He has energized a base that is not normally into politics including openly racist members of my extended family who are very much supportive of anti immigrant rhetoric and religious purity tests.

Trump also got the first ever KKK endorsement.

I'm not saying all Trump supports are racists, but it also says something to look the other way since it may not directly impact you.

The company you keep is important. If you don't like the platform don't be in the party.

Yeah. In the last election AP called California and Washington as soon as the polls closed. It took all of a half an hour to call Oregon.

I have a feeling a lot of those are fake though. I find that it's reasonable to assume that the most insane or idiotic stuff on the extreme ends is probably fake, especially if it looks just like shitposting.
