I absolutely agree that Arrogant B should have been banned, and hopefully it's permanent.

But can a mod please explain to me why EekumBokum wasn't banned for making the exact same comment about a different racial group?

To be fair, the mods could have missed that first post seeing as they banned someone who made a very similar remark.

Doesn't even rhyme properly.

Is there any reason why we'd anticipate Johnson voters breaking Clinton over Trump?
I did notice a lot on CNN tonight that Hillary underperformed in a lot of counties compared to Obama, while Trump was consistent with Romney and didn't really gain a whole lot. Did a lot of undecideds who voted Obama in 2012 switch to Johnson or Stein? I have no idea, but it was interesting to see how often that played out tonight.

The takeaway from this election, and the thing we all probably underestimated, is how easily and fiercely stupid people can be mobilized, as evidence by the sudden surge of Trump supporters popping up in this thread. I would love for anybody who supports or voted for Trump but swears they aren't ignorant and/or a racist to give me one policy or position of his, just one, that you agree with or support that A) isn't rooted in some kind of hate, bigotry, or racism or b) is an ACTUAL position, and not just him saying "it'll be great I'll fix it i promise"

Go ahead, I'll wait.

Obama's legacy will be completely reversed. How did so many Obama voters change and vote for Trump?

CHANGE?

I'd guess that a lot of Obama voters didn't vote this cycle. He was great at inspiring people to go out and vote.

GAF probably not the best time to be snide and needlessly sarcastic. Whoever you voted for emotional humans are still humans. Kicking people when they are down over politics is a small part of why the whole system is toxic. If you're happy someone won, fine, but you don't need to go out of your way to lambast others. Yes there is tons of examples of hyperbole and posters who got things totally wrong, but that's life. We get many things wrong.

At least give people time for a breather and to feel their instant emotional response without shitposting them and quoting posts they made hours or days ago. Just saying, avatars and names on GAF are actual people. It's not helpful seeing horrific posts made as "sarcasm" quoted for 10 pages.

First Brexit, now Trump. Germany might as well elect a fucking Nazi next year. Everything seems to be possible with the idiocy going around.

France will take care of electing a nazi this time, I think it's our turn. We almost did it in 2002 but nowadays I don't trust sanity anymore.

I voted Hillary and have zero faith in Trump but jeebus, the blind hate and vitriol some of you spew towards any Trump supporter is as bad as anything Trump has said. If Trump wins it might be karma biting you in your hypocritical asses.

Pretty much the same feeling I have. This forum is a pretty great example of people trying to rip out the throat of anyone who disagrees with them or has a different opinion. I am about as anti-Trump as a person can be but some of the stuff I've read on here has been as vitriolic as the things I hate that come out of the the Trump side.

Turns out, dismissing and talking shit about other Americans who don't have the same background as you isn't a good way to win hearts and minds. Who'd have thunk it. And now we're fucked (even if she pulls this off, we're fucked -- the disenfranchised masses are out there).

And to people saying Bernie would have won: LOL. Good lord. No wonder we're in this situation.

What a remarkable result. I just hope for minimal suffering. I hope the SCOTUS won't dick over minorities and science too badly in the ensuing decades. And obviously, I hope we don't have ourselves a red white and blue nuclear war.

Maybe we as a country will learn some valuable lessons from the events to come. Or maybe America has reached its expiration date. Rome didn't last forever.

So with NH back blue, Penn 48.2 each.... come on Michigan and then uhhhhhh tie after all that work

*shrug*

... and then there's the WA EV that says he won't vote Clinton

Trump is not perfect, not even great. He doesn't really represent me or my views, as I am a moderate. But having a criminal villain and member of the Clinton crime family in the White House is something I cannot abide. And that is how the majority of America voted.

Please be trolling

It really is eye opening how wrong poligaf read the political climate. It was openly being discussed that the Republican party was dead and now it appears they are stronger than ever. The fall from 2008 is stunning.

Yep.

We've never been more wrong, ever.

It's cathartic for me to admit this repeatedly.

I say give it as bad as you want to us LiberalGaf here. We called it wrong.

All I ask that if you see a friend, coworker, or family member intimidating or just being a dick to a minority or someone they see as the enemy, check that shit. Don't let this election turn into a free pass to be cruel.

You're gonna be waiting for a loooooooooooooong time.
