Watch_Dogs 2 |OT| .HTML

I feel like I might've accidentally skipped some of the story or something. I just finished the
Cyberdriver mission where you remote control the car
story mission and watched the cutscene that happened after, and then nothing was going on so I fast-traveled somewhere else and had a new story mission available called
False Profits.
It seems like there should've been more dialogue or something to set that up, if not.

You might've missed a conference call but I'm pretty sure Cyberdriver leads into false prophets. Also the ge isn't completely linear, you can complete story stuff whenever you want in whatever order provided you already have the op.

So i just brought over my PS4 Pro to my friends place who has a Samsung 4k tv and we played a bunch of motocross races and yacht races. We spent about 3-4hours on the Pro and it looks so clean and sharp, didn't really notice any performance drops. Fast forward to the last 30 minutes we went back to the OG ps4 and oh god the shimmering and AA looked horrible on his tv when we redid the yacht races.

Honestly for some minor dips when intense action occurs, i'd take the huge improvement in IQ any day.

So, how can you tell which physical hacks require Marcus to sit there and babysit in person and which can be done quickly with a drone?

Sucks to work your way to the physical hack objective with the bouncer, causing a distraction to get a few moments undisturbed on the terminal, only to then get a message that Marcus isn't in range.

Or is it just trial and error?

that's pretty much the bottom line when it comes to Pro enhancements IMO, but we'll continue to see cherry picked frame rate screenshots littered about

Yeah, I saw the bearded guy talking in a cutscene but that was it before the new quest popped after I fast traveled.

Well shit. I fell for the hype and bought the game... I gave the game a chance after liking Syndicate a lot! So far I must say it's 90% better than the first game! Hopefully a patch get released soon to fix up the performance issues.

There are only a few that Marcus has to do in person and I think there is also a specific type but there are some that are random. But it's usually because it's for a cutscene.

With downloads it's random, but usually you don't need to be in the restricted area too download.

You're probably fine then. The game isn't super story heavy anyway.

Its a download for me right now
New Dawn mission
and even though I could start the hack and download with the jumper, its telling me Marcus isn't in range. I even got to within 20 feet of the thing but that's still not close enough.

Guess I have to take down some guards, which is a bit of a bummer as I'm trying to ghost as much as possible.

For a game based around stealth and using the environment for hack takedowns, all of those takedowns seem to just put everybody on alert (either loud or leave bodies in easy to detect spots), so I avoid them except as momentary distractions. Starting to feel that that isn't how these missions are structured to be played though.

You can sit outside the building and download it. On the left side from the front, try there. There should be a blue ring indicating the download area and I was able to download it from outside.

That gives me some hope for another try, thanks.

Like I said, I started the hack with the jumper, but then got the message that nothing was downloading because Marcus wasn't in range, and the guards were about to spot the jumper so I pulled it out. That's when I nudged closer as Marcus (
right to the second floor balcony entrance
) but I guess still wasn't close enough.

I don't think it matters whether the jumper is destroyed if you've already initiated the download.

For that mission I actually got in with the RC jumper through the vents, called the cops on one of the guards inside and they started to shoot each other, hahah! The whole second floor was empty so I just drove the jumper to the hack point and then walked myself to the entrance (just outside the restricted area).

This game has clearly got a lot more going for it than WD1 but I think I actually preferred the combat areas in the first game compared to this.

The stuff you can hack in the red zones feels like an afterthought compared to the position of the guards, I felt like there was a lot more stuff you could interact and take people out with in the first game, it was like solving a puzzle in a way. The placements of the cameras suck too.

In the first game I swear you could take out a lot of guys without raising hell too. Every hack takedown seems to alert everyone in a 50m radius.

Just tried two more times. There is no download circle. Once I start the physical hack with the jumper the jumper retracts and I get a popup that Marcus isn't in range, with the download at 0%.

Edit: Ahh, you can hack but you can't download from upstairs. For some reason if I drop back down and loiter out front on the ground floor rather than closer to it on the second floor the download works. Classic Ubisoft.

I love infiltrating with the drone. I really want to get all the upgrades though. I wonder if there are enough research points. Does anyone know?

I also took someone car and they tried to get me but I taunted them by driving a few feet each time :)

I miss being able to take money from drivers while I am driving now that I got the car controls.

Been playing this nonstop for the past two days. I'm really impressed with how Ubisoft addressed all the biggest criticisms of the first game (except maybe driving, which takes getting used to). I'm really loving the characters, story, and gameplay. Game really has an identity of its own.

Can anyone tell me where to find the puppy from the trailer? I've seen lots of dogs, but no puppy.

I've found a number of puppys now, most of the time they are in pairs. They are usually in the larger parks. They are so small they are hard to spot though!

Yeah lol, sorry I guess I should've been more specific! But glad you got it!

Im about 7 hours or so into the game and im just not feeling it.

The set up is good and the characters are fun but the minute to minute gameplay is imo, not good.

The animations are clunky, the vehicles dont seem to have any heft. The shooting is so bad i dont want to engage with it. I also dobt get much satisfaction from using my skillz.

Ill probably still finish it. But im def disappointed after reading the reviews and reading good things. Its lke the opposite from Mafia 3 for me in that respect.

Watch Dogs 2 is super frustrating to me because Ubisoft have made so many great additions and smart changes, while also managing to either totally remove or downgrade the parts of the first game I actually really loved.

No focus mode, digital trips are gone, on-foot controls aren't as good, shooting feels worse, driving is awful, the world itself feels weirdly deserted, and even the stealth mechanics are a step backwards.

I have a nagging feeling of disappointment playing this, even though it's still a really good game.

Someone else mentioned this but the cars also have a weird graphical glitch for me, like the seams between the polygons are aliased to hell and kind of shimmer weirdly like the car is bejeweled, especially noticable at night. Also have had sound bug out and sound mix just seems weird in general, have had car engines be super loud and soft (not electric cars). And I know the original had no jump but it seems more weird here, there are places it seems I could jump but even running and using the climb button does nothing and I just fall to the ground. Controls in general seem oddly unintuitive. I seem to remember the first game having a better overall gameplay "feel."

And this is kinda weird, I was going to upload a quick video showing the car graphical weirdness, but I previewed the video and it doesnt show up at all in the recorded video.

I'm bummed that the PC version isn't releasing until the end of the month but atleast I have plenty of games to keep me busy. I went ahead and bought the Yeti Blackout Mic bundle. I was in need for a dedicated mic and it got really good reviews. The code is loaded and now that waiting game has begun...

Why are dogs but no cats a thing in video games? The Division is the same way :)

So the key data on Lombard street:
so I fly around the building and see you can get up using ladders, cranes and painters scaffold to get up to the next building over and then there is a ramp that could be used to jump across. So I spend all this time collecting upgrade points to get super jump and boost on my jumper, only to find out it explodes when it lands on the other side. Trying to figure out what was going on I fly my drone over there and realize I could have gotten it long ago. Since there is also a weird blocked off vent pathway, I'm guessing it's for a future mission or something. Oh well.

Some of the puzzles are really impressive. Stanford Tower was really cool.

I found a woman beating up her boyfriend's/husband's car with a baseball bat. There's also just a lot of crime going on. I was just hanging out in the area and a woman in a motorcycle helmet and a handgun caused some commotion and just started walking away down the sidewalk.

The AI in this game is hilarious. I stole a parked car, and right before I sped off I heard some lady screaming at me that it was her car. She pulled me out and called me a douchebag or something. I used the passive reaction to calm her down. "Yo chill." She responded like everything was ok, but as I walked away she called me a freak.

Oh hell naw.

I ran back up to her, gave her a nice little Ali jab, and booked it across the street into someone's backyard. Eventually she stopped chasing me and I got distracted by one of those small hacking puzzles. A few minutes later I went back to that road and saw the same red car, and figured I'd take it now that her scripting basically forgot what it was doing. To my surprise, not only was she still in the car (I couldn't see her from the direction I approached), but she pulled a pistol on me when I pulled her out.

This soccer mom was packing.

She had the heater.

So I ran into the nearby alley and put a gang hit out on her because I knew I could not let this woman drive away.

R.I.P. Soccer Mom. The original OG.

How do you do emotes? I don't recall a tutorial for that.

I know the game is just kind of detached from reality in general, but I wish they had done some sort of branching paths for lethal and non-lethal. Having this character use very limited lethal weapons makes the most sense. And they have a good out with the 3D printer. There is a non-lethal launcher, so I don't know why they didn't make a non-lethal sniper rifle of some sort or a rubber bullet smg like in MGSV. And yes, he does look like he chokes guys out when he stealth takedowns, but the devs assure us that those guys are still alive, lol. I know they mention at the beginning of the game that he owns a gun, but he's not a mass murderer.

Most of the ubi club challenges are for killing guys, so I guess they expect it, but just building something into the game to acknowledge if you were trying to go non-lethal would have been a nice touch.

They'd have to ignore roadkills though - who knows how many of those I've done unintentionally...

Unfortunately, after playing for about 4 hours last night, this is my impression too. Watch Dogs 2 does a lot of things right, but it seems to get the absolute most important thing in gaming, feel, pretty wrong. I know a lot of people don't seem as concerned with that slightly nebulous "feel" aspect of games as I do, but I'm still disappointed that this game seems to get it wrong.

Let me give an example: you can't lean forward on your motorcycle. In addition, once you've gone off a jump on a motorcycle you don't have any control in terms of leaning forward or backward. This makes me not want to ride motorcycles in the game. This might seem minor to some, but it completely kills all enjoyment of motorcycle riding to me. This is significant because in GTAV I would spend literally hours just riding around on motorcycles, hopping over hills, trying to land perfectly on things and so on just because riding them felt so fucking GOOD. Even though watch dogs 2 has a pretty neat looking world, if nothing in that world feels all that good to do, it's worthless.

I think I'm going to return the copy I bought from Walmart and buy it elsewhere, where I can have a seven day period to decide if I want to keep it, open or not. That way I can test it out and see if I love it enough to keep it.

With games being $90, it's tough to just blind buy things anymore, even though it looks like it could be fun. I just can't shake my original perception that the hipster vibe would annoy me and the drones would be boring.

The library is supposed to get it in, but I don't know if I feel like waiting 2 weeks.

HLTB says 18 hours is its length. Is that fair?

The driving is ass fire but what's wrong with the shooting/gadget/stealth gameplay? Legitimately asking. I'm really enjoying the later two, but I don't get in shoot outs but I see a lot of people saying the shooting is bad.

You definitely have control over vehicles in the air. Maybe the animation isn't there, but that doesn't seem like a big thing.

That's just it, I'll have to go back and play more, I may have missed the air control due to no animations, but that lack of animations is a HUGE thing, it impacts the feel of the game. I understand that this doesn't mean a lot to everyone, but to those who it does mean a lot to, it's make or break.

As of now, I'd give the game a 8.

+ Characters look amazing
+ Fun dialogue all around
+ The environments are cool and colorful/varied
+ I like all the clothing and the freedom
+ Gameplay is fine, reminds me of GTAV for shootouts. Hacking and environment traversal are fun.

- Cars: the handling sucks. I dunno how to explain it, but they feel wrong most of the time.
- A.I.: kind of expected, but it's dumb. Police lose you way too easily, just like in GTA

Other notes:

Seeing attack dogs is cool (both from police and gangs)
Taking selfies is a nice touch
Lots to do in terms of activies and exploration

I'm really loving the clothing and customization. The fact that not everything is a preset outfit is amazing. You can really get some cool outfits once you really get to mixin and matching

I finally specced into the gang attack perk and tried it out on a civvie and they straight up did a drive by. Like a legit, slow down while the passenger hangs out the window and shoots and then drive off drive by. I was fully expecting them to get out the car and confront the guy and then kill him. I thought that was really cool. The ambient AI stuff is great. I was quite impressed honestly
