Pokémon Sun & Moon |OT| Ultra Beasts and where to find them

FINALLY got a female Popplio with an acceptable nature.

Took like 6.5 hours, I think I'm gonna settle with this one so I can enjoy the game tomorrow lol.

Games's still not out here, but my LE console arrived!

I miss PSS.
Is the festival plaza really the replacement? It seems cumbersome and obtuse so far.

This is how I feel about pretty much every feature of the RotomDex apart from the world map. It's much more cumbersome than it was in ORAS to do lots of things and there's very little that its easier to do.

I agree, I feel like they wanted to Monster Hunter up the multiplayer aspect, while having a lot of quality of life changes, from the sending to box/keep in party after catching a pokemon, to prompts that are like "are you suuuuure?" etc

So how's Pokemon refresh work? I notice fullness and enjoyment go up and down very quickly, but affection is raised slowly, is that permanent?
Affection is permanent. 2 hearts gives 20% EXP boost (and is enough to evolve Eevee into Sylveon), 3 hearts allows the pokemon to sometimes survive a fatal hit with 1 HP, 4 hearts gives an evade boost and the ability to randomly heal self of status and 5 hearts is a critical hit boost.

I don't like to go beyond 2 hearts and those boosts don't apply in battle tree or multiplayer.

4 days to wait because Europe but are there any items to prevent a pokemon from evolving (stopping evolution can get annoying)? And if yes, how many and how far in the game ? Thanks !
Yep have them hold an everstone. You can find wild (just before second Island)
Roggenrola in Ten Carat Hill
who frequently hold them.

Oh snap, caught a Feebas in rippling water. Does anyone know where a Prism Scale is in this game?
Speaking of rippling water it looks they have better chances of finding rarer Pokemon. Feebas is normally 1% encounter but is 5% encounter in rippling? (at least the encounter table data always seem to have more fishing tables than places to fish)

Wtf Kadabra doesn't learn confusion upon evolution?

Does anyone know if Synchronizing nature works on Pokémon that were called for help?

I'm beginning to wonder what the possibilities are for shiny hunting with pokemon that
Call for help from other pokemon
I'm thinking doing this in a chain, which I've experienced in
The first trial, where zubats kept calling for another zubat.
Maybe they built something in, Love the first months of a Pokemon game trying to figure out all the hidden mechanics

So Serebii says Magic Guard is available in Sun/Moon for Abra, does this mean you have to trap Abra and then SOS chain (since Kadabra isn't available) ?

Really enjoying the game!

Oh wait, no I'm not. I'm a peasant European who's not allowed to play it yet...

*Stares at 3DS and weeps*

Glad everyone is having fun with it though, it really does look to be the best one yet. Very excited to eventually play it on Wednesday.

Something like that and also I think you would have to be trapping the ones that come to help as otherwise they could escape. There are more annoying HA to get
SoS only Pokemon that will attack the Pokemon that cired for help (yep the best bit of hordes returned) and can't call for help themselves

I got a Dewpider. I was just going to roll with all three starters but now I'm feeling a bit guilty, especially since two of them get extra trade XP. You can find Scald in the same area so if you've got any water Pokemon you'll be wrecking fools soon enough.

I also laughed at the Sudowoodo fleeing in terror.

Jesus christ Oricorio.

It's level 10 at red hp and is breaking out of all my ultra balls.

Edit: Complaining on the internet strategy works again, got it with the next ball.

I didn't know Scald was over there. Going to trek back and look for it. I've been rocking the Dewpider line and heh it's no joke how strong it is.

Nope through me completely off. It'd be one thing if it could at least learn Echo Voice but it can't even learn that I hate to wait to use it until I could get Hidden Power on it.

IDK when it learns Confusion or if it just doesn't now because I learned Disable at like 18 like normal.

Shit is weird as all hell.

Anyways to get a water stone before the trial in the volcanos?

Besides trading not as far as I'm aware. There's one on Route 8 but that's not til after that, you can buy them in Konikoni which is also after that, and I think you can get them from Isle Aphun in Poke Pelago which is also after that lol.

I thought I had this preordered for months in the UK but I totally forgot! Quickly made an order on ThatGameCollection, who are known to send in advance, so here's hoping I get it Monday/Tuesday if I'm lucky!

Just started the game - 2 hours in and only just now had my first encounter with
Team Skull.
Also almost got wrecked by
Captain whats-his-name's Smeargle (the guy's name escapes me).

I feel like this is by far the slowest ramp-up in any Pokémon game Ive ever played. I don't recall any Pokémon game making you play for 2+ hours before it turns you loose. But I almost don't mind it. The world is a lot more interesting and the writing seems a lot better. I really enjoy the effort that went into the camerawork in cutscenes. It makes what would've been more trivial moments in prior Pokémon games seem like they actually have significance.

Seaward Cave is definitely in contention for creepiest Pokémon music. Given how hidden it is, I bet a good number of people are going to miss it at first. It's also a huge tease since you can't do much there at first.

And my friend got an early copy in Europe anyways so...
They should just silently unlock the digital copies at this point .-.

I hoped Nintendo was onto something when they unlocked the new Paper Mario game a few days early but that turned out to be a massive botch on their end.
