Pokémon Sun & Moon |OT| Ultra Beasts and where to find them

It looks like clothing store inventories are static. Thank goodness, because it was annoying having to check in daily at every store in XY.

Is there a list that shows which pokemon are available on which islands? I recall seeing one before the game came out but I can't find it.

Wild Pokemon calling reinforcements is a terrible mechanic.

If it's certain rare Pokemon, fine whatever. But common shit like Spearow? Fuck off.

It can be used for EV training, and it's the new method for getting shinies. Saw that someone got two shinies in 80 chains, that's pretty decent

The main character in this game is some kind of sociopath that loves laying down in random peoples' beds...

Tried out the Island Scan, got a Litwick.

Neat.

EDIT: Now I need to decide on two to use between Cutiefly, Growlithe and Litwick. What does GAF think?

Pichu is level 19 now and still hasn't evolved.

Clearly doesn't like me so she can go back into the wild, bye bitch.

Not really but ffs evolve already

When you caught it, it came with 70 friendship points. Each level up gets you 5 until 100 friendship, then 4 til 200, then 3 til max. Every 128 steps *can* give you 2 until 200, 1 after that.

Those are the two primary sources of friendship you likely have at this point. A Soothe Bell will multiply those values by 1.5x then round down.

It won't evolve until its friendship points are 220+

I'm loving some of the QoL improvements. Being able to give nicknames to Mystery Gift Pokemon means I might actually use some of them for once. These games really feel like Game Freak have finally caught up to where this series should have been with X/Y. Things that have been annoying us for 20 years have finally been tweaked.

Think mine evolved at 20 with Soothe Bell whenever I got that.

Popplio too op, they gave Scald waaaaay early.

what's the general consensus on this game so far?

I'm someone who hasn't enjoyed a Pokémon gen since Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, but this is the best Pokémon game Ive ever played. Takes a super long time to get going, but the advancements in presentation and storytelling make it an enjoyable ramp-up, not a tedious one. I'm having a damn good time.

I don't think they changed anything with the nicknaming?...

If you're talking about the Munchlax, it's given your OT. In the past mystery gifts that gave your OT also let you nickname them, because that's the limiting factor.

How do you do this island scan people are talking about? I just got to Route 2.

In your menu, there's a QR Scan option. Every 2 hours you're given one QR scan "charge" up to a max of 10 stored at a time. Every time you scan a QR code, you get 10 points. 100 points lets you perform an Island Scan.

You start with a full 10 charges. You can scan Pokedex QR codes or random QR codes. The former will register the Pokemon as seen in your dex.

Oh cool, thanks!

The heavily guided opening section is done well, but definitely excessive to anyone who has played the game before. Since none of it is skippable, I am already dreading doing this section again on Switch.

So I picked up my game yesterday at 9 am and by the time I went to bed last night I had clocked 10 hours 19 minutes on the first day.

The Pokemon games are literally the only games that do this to me....

What did everyone else clock on their firat day with the game?

How is trainer customization in this one? I'm planning to get a female character for the first time and since male customization in XY was the pits, I wanted to know if the girl keeps having the better clothes and hairstyles.

I'm European so I won't be able to play the game before my grandchildren are born.

Okay guys is Pichu really on route 1? Does running from battles affect the rate?

Edit: never mind got one.. please don't faint please don't faint

shhhiiitttttt -___-

I got the Amazon steelbook with both games. Started up Moon. It's charming! But now I'm wondering if I should have started up Sun.

Does Moon stay dark a lot? Is that a dumb question? What are the other differences between both games?

Moon runs in game night when it's day and sun runs by the standard time. So it depends on your clock setting.

In Moon, you'll be 12 hours ahead of Sun. So when it's day IRL, it'll be night in Moon and vice versa. In-game, Day is 6 AM to 5:59 PM and Night is 6 PM to 5:59 AM.

Wait, after the EU release date is almost a week behind the US, now the Pokemon Bank update won't be coming until JANUARY?

I have to admit, I've been very disappointed by my limited experience as a Nintendo player so far. :/

I put in a solid 7 hours yesterday. It's crazy how easy it is for me to dive into these games. Aaaand my pichu evolved this morning!

1 hour lol. I have a job. But I'll get to play on the plane now.

How does the wonder trade fortune work, right when I unlocked the wonder trade I got the furtune and traded yungoos and got that bug fighting ultra beast in return. I noticed the UB pokeball and was like WTF!?

Thats why i wonder trade lol. Nice thing to get all legendary/event pokemons with if you have the patience.
