Pokémon Sun & Moon |OT| Ultra Beasts and where to find them

Wow, Kadabra doesn't learn Confusion when it evolves anymore? What kind of sick twist is this???

FOR ABRA USERS!!!!

A ton of Pokémon have evolution moves, they will ALWAYS learn a certain move when they evolve. If your Pokémon evolves during a level it would naturally learn something else, that move(Like Kadabras Confusion) is completely replaced.

I think it's a glitch.

I'm not sure however if you choose not to learn Kinesis with Kadabra, if Condusion would be available at 16 instead. Someone should test it out.

So apparently there was a hidden cave on Melemele that I missed. I guess it's time for me to make another detour from the main story.

I'm still very early in the game,
route 1
, but does anything ever show up on the bottom DS screen or does it always stay blank until you hit X?

Under normal circumstances you don't get a choice since Abra only has 1 move.

So they've basically allowed the QR code thing now? I remember people hacking in Pokemon but GF actually implemented it in a way that's being exploited?
The idea of that feature is to add Pokemon as seen and maybe even do it locally (I'm sure one of the promo videos showed that).

But yeah it has been exploited for CFW users*. It's a bit of effort to make the patch though (you first need to decrypt and dump the rom ,then extract a file, then patch that file).
*- https://github.com/SciresM/SMPatcher . Personally I'm interested in the no outlines part of that. I know in citra that improves performance but I'm curious if it helps on actual hardware.

I know people don't like exploits but thankfully at the end of the day with millions of players you might have up to thousands doing this so it is small percentage.

As someone who likes to take their time with the game and catch every Pokemon in each area, the calling for help thing is game-ruining for me right now. WTF were they thinking with this?!

Should've just saved it for the totem fights. It's also ridiculous how it doesn't use a turn, and how they immediately call for help again right after you kill one.
I've heard if a Pokemon is under a status condition it can't call for help. Sleep should definitely work (plus sleeping Pokmeon are easier to catch).

This plus extremely high encounter rate is really starting to wear on me, and I've only put in like 4-5 hours.

Also - why does my Meowth shake when I send it into battle? And can anyone tell me where exactly is Ruffrock? I'm at ten carat hill or whatever but with at least 20 encounters thru the whole place I haven't seen one yet.
I remember in some older Pokemon games running through grass or using a bike rather than walking would trigger more encounters. Also you can always use repels.

The shaking is to do with affection gained from using refresh. As for Ruffrock the problem it has (and many of the new Pokemon also have) is a really low encounter rate.

Are you still at route 1? You could find them later on at route 4 with slightly higher chance.

Nvm also 10% I just get incredibly lucky then :p

Hmmm alright, I might as well search on route 4 (just finished first island) just for the higher level.

Also at how much affection does pichu evolve?

How do you check for friendship in moon?

Not sure if it's changed in moon, but traditionally there's some NPC which gives a vague happiness rating and if you have the highest one you can evolve a happiness evo pokemon.

I wouldn't worry about keeping tracking, just keep it in your party and put a soothe bell on it if you have one, it'll happen eventually.

What are shiny pokemon and should I bother?

Extremely rare alternate color variations of pokemon.

You shouldn't bother.

Are there other clothing shops or are more unlocked later in the game because the selection sucks

There are two shops on Melemele, the normal one and one in the mall which opens after defeating Hala.

There are two shops on Akala, one in Heahea and one in Konikoni. (you can get some hair accessories in Olivia's home/shop too for female characters)

There are two shops on Ula'ula, the main shop in Malie and one that changes daily in the community center next to the library.

Close to one hundred is the answer.

It's a 10% chance in rippling water. Just fish, if you don't get one, walk back through the door and try again. Not that hard lol x.x

So has anyone managed to test out Burn Up? I want to know if the pokemon becomes a normal type after using the skill, or if it just becomes some typeless pokemon.

Saw the speculation of Arcanine (who can get this as an egg move) using Burn Up > Gain Stab for Extreme Speed, and I'm wondering if this is possible now that the game is out.

That was a nice detour. I picked up the Roar TM, a never melt ice, and some items to sell which allowed me to buy two of the weather TMs.

It was tested by a lot of people, they go typeless unfortunately.

Yeah. There's four shops,
plus another one in Hau'oli, the flea market, Olivia's shop (female only), plus an unlockable Skull Tank.

Also, Red, Yellow, Orange and Pink clothing is exclusive to Sun. Green, Blue, Navy Blue and Purple is exclusive to Moon. You have to dye clothes in the Festival Plaza if you want the other colours.

I'm finding myself giving up looking for specific pokemon way to much and im still not on the first kahuna fight. The appearance rate/maybe amount of pokemon in each patch may be too much for me.

Like I went looking for Growlith and the new crab fighting type and ran into spearow so much I just moved on. Among a good bit more it seems. Which is weird since the encounter rate seems pretty high.

-shrug- guess i'll GTS for them.

The crab doesn't appear in the grass. When you gather berries there's a chance one will pop out and attack you.
