Pokémon Sun & Moon |OT| Ultra Beasts and where to find them

How do you clean a Pokemon that takes up both screens? My Snorlax showed Dirt on the upper screen, but I can't figure out how to wipe it off.

I decided to get Moon and I've gotten to the second island... Does the game ever stop with the railroading and constant cutscenes? It's like... In the old games I remember, going to a new town was a bit of a journey, and when you got there you got to explore. Here, it's arriving, having to talk to Lillie before I can even go to the Pokemon center, then do a fight before you can go further than that... It just feels like like a slog.

FINALLY!

Much as i'm enjoying Sun so far, it bothers how in spite of several improvements to problems that plagues earlier entries like having to carry around a Pokemon that knows HMs (Fly especially), it bugs me how difficult it is to get a Pokémon with its Hidden Ability, especially in cases where it's next to impossible to tell (I ran out of PP for Bite and Astonish even with the use of Leppa berries and made a catch of faith after about an hour's time and the fainting of five party members).

Timid Lunala on second try, woo! The prospect of getting a perfect IV legendary through hyper training is pretty cool.

I love how the AI has literally no idea how to handle Komala when it comes to status moves, lol. It's practically game-breaking.

lol, it's kind of annoying when I'm trying to hit Hypno with Sucker Punch but it keeps trying to put me to sleep with Hypnosis.

Sylveon is your friend. It learns Skill Swap at level 25.

If the game continues to be anything like the first two islands, it'll easily be the worst mainline entry imo.

It's literally a chore to play at this point tbh.

I'm surprised at people saying it's the worst entry. I've played everything except BW1&2 and I think it's one of the best (from the 4 or 5 hours I've played, at least), if only because it's changing the formula in a lot of interesting ways. It also looks great, I can only imagine some of the only regions remade in this style.

My one gripe is that it's a bit too guided and slow.

That journey ended when the series shifted to 3DS.

Well.

Found the Salandit area. First one I encountered? Female with Timid nature (speed up, attack down).

Easy.

Funnily enough I prepared in advance by obtaining a male Cute Charm Jigglypuff to lure out only females (12.5%). Never needed to use it lol.

I think there needs to be a bit more control, at some point (heck, even post-game) on calling for help, and how it can mess with catching a pokemon. Sometimes way more frustration than it should be, especially when it's the only way to get hidden abilities thus far.

Other than that and more enemy trainers needing to have more pokemon on-hand, it's pretty great otherwise.

I'm not very far ahead (just finished first island) but hearing that you don't need specific Pokemon in order to use Fly or Surf automatically makes it one of the best Pokemon games for me. But I do agree that there seems to be far too many cutscenes.

Electric Types are so barren.

Did a bit of quick checking and the only ones available are Golem Alolan line, Magnezone line, Tapu Koko, Jolteon, and Pikachu?

Togedemaru isn't competitive level either. Prebank-meta is going to run wild with unchecked Toxapex.

EDIT: Wait why is it preferred to have Steadfast RockRuff over Vital Spirit? You're still going to outspeed mostly everything and priority fake outs aren't used by pokes faster than you or on switch-ins it won't matter.

It's around a huge rock at Ancient Poni Path on the last island. He just has to level up once near the rock. So to get the most out of Vikavolt's stat growth, as soon as you get Chajabug don't use him anymore till you're at that area. See how that's poorly thought out?

Thats now how BSTs work this gen. A Pokemons stats are recalculated whenever they'd change (different Base Stats, EV changed, Hyper Training happened, etc), so you don't have to box Charja, unless what you're looking for is Vikavolts move list instead of Charjabugs but you get the move relearner before Vikavolts in any case.

I love the atmosphere of Po Town
I love how they made a quiz where you technically don't need to collect all the clues to clear it but you'll never figure out what to do if you don't find some clues
I love how team Skull is literally just a gang
I love their personalities being so over the top

But man, their battles SUCK.
Every grunt has unevolved pokemon and the leader has 2 fucking pokemon and they're exactly the same as last time. Even Lysandre had 3 pokemon ffs.l

Jeez, I'm glad I didn't do a blind Nuzlocke of this game because damn I got my ass kicked a lot lol.

I'm playing Set Turn mode, catch an Alolan or new Gen 7 pokemon in each new area, and no Experience Share. I had this setup until I fought the Grass Totem and man that shit was unfair being about 4 levels under lol. I beat it on my 4th or 5th try and then I decided I need to grind so I wouldn't get wrecked by the next Totem boss. (To my surprise one of the rival fights almost wiped my entire party lol) I used the EXP share to speed things up a bit and turned it off once I got on track with the story.

So far, this playthrough is much more challenging then what I expected lol. (Its also good I didn't spoil myself when the game was leaked haha)

Opinions are always going to vary, and there are plenty of reasons to dislike or like the changes made. There are people who will call it the "worst", and others including the majority of reviewers who enjoyed the game a lot and liked the changes made. Don't really see an issue with that.

What are some pokemon in the first two islands that can learn false swipe and have good status effects? Need one to catch wild Pokemon because my pokes deal too much damage.

Well got a Talonflame and Ditto so time to dump a bunch of Littens into the GTS.

also if anyone wants one let me know. Will be on for the next two hours or so.

Decidueye obtained. Amazing design. Wish I hadn't had the typing spoiled, would've been a nice surprise. Easily top 3 Grass starter designs and line, at least. No complaints about going grass.

I'm liking the optional areas, seems like there's going to be a lot to come back to once you have more overworld abilities.

I'm just saying that it's surprising and interesting to see the problems that I didn't even notice that people are bringing up in here. I never said there was an issue with it, never even implied that there was.
