I can't believe I missed this.

The fiancee and I were cracking up losing our shit because all we could picture the entire time was Carl reacting to the crystal gems...as if the Aqua Teens weren't already bad enough.

"Carl meets the Crystal Gems on Thanksgiving" is one of those pantheon-tier pitches for a television episode that Steven Universe continuously throws us. See also: "Pearl gets human love interest in teen coming-of-age movie with real-world musician cameo".

EDIT: WAIT HOLY SHIT WE HAVE TO HAVE AN EPISODE WHERE ANDY LEARNS ABOUT FUSION

I still can't believe this is real.

I assumed this was an edit, but holy shit it is.

Maybe it's unintentional? We've seen obscure references in the show, but they're "mainstream" obscure, like lesser-known Queen albums in Greg's vinyl collection or a Sanic figure. This isn't any of that; this is Loss.JPG.

If this is a new trend of adding loss to cartoons, I'm perfectly fine with it.

My only problem is it laid a little too hard into "person/alien doesn't understand social norms" which is a trope I absolutely HATE. I couldn't watch much more than one episode of Kimmy Schmidt because of it.

I don't mind it much considering the Gems rarely interact with humans or understand them. Heck, even Steven suffered from their influence on him.

I don't get how people are seeing Loss in that cake.

Loss is:
|....||
||...|_

and the cake is
||...||
||...|-

The two brides in the upper left and the laying down groom being in the background kill it. Plus if they were going for a Loss joke it would have been the same figure on the left side in each "panel" to represent Buckley.

The joke is that gems choose same-sex pairings for the figures and made Andy feel uneasy.

It took that Loud House pic to make me realize that SU was referencing Loss as well. Lol. I assumed it was just that there were gay couples on the cake and I was thinking "why is anyone surprised that is in the show?"

huelen alt?

I'm most excited in seeing how Pearl reacted to Rose giving up her physical form for Steven. I bet there will be a part where she attempts poofing him to get Rose back.

Is that Zuke quitting the show thing real?

Maybe. Hard to say. Her apparent radio silence doesn't exactly bode well, but the way /sug/ has completely written the narrative on what exactly happened based on excerpts from an anonymous blog that she may or may not have been using for venting purposes kinda rubs me the wrong way.

What we seem to know for absolute certainty is that Hilary Florido is now paired with Amber Rogers if a staff video and/or pic (which I can't seem to find the source of even though I'm almost positive I've seen it shared as recently as last week) was anything to go by. We've known she'd been promoted to storyboards since October.

EDIT: here's the pic that corroborates Hilary and Amber being storyboard partners now: image

There was an extended preview for the new episode, and it looks interesting, to say the least.

I love how they're still lamp-shading that every Greg flashback has to start with a song.

'bout time they uploaded something, the leaked 2 minute clip was a total blue-ball with the song getting cut off like that.

welp I broke my leg, had to endure an 11-hour car ride back home and today I spent eight hours in a faulty wheelchair

I'm in excruciating pain on the outside, so how about we balance it up with some excruciating pain on the insiiiiide
