I really hope it would be new designs. That way even if the list of characters is leak. The way they look will be a huge surprise.
MVC4 could lets say not release until 2018. During that time they announce a character or two like everyone month or something.
That would then let them lead up into some cool cross announcements. something like "DMC5 announced, Dante in MVC4" and such would be cool double whammies.

If I remember right there was someone in the files named "FAN" and people decided that was the new final boss. But then it turned out to be FANG.

Yeah, pretty much all of them were known. Only character we didn't know about for sure was F.A.N.G

His files in the betas were named "FAN" so people had no idea if that's his full name, what type of character he is so at least they managed to keep that a secret.

Capcom have gotten better at hiding their in-game files now since a LOT of stuff got datamined and leaked. Both before release and after.

Yeah, hopefully they've learned. It's kind of funny how they've always been kind of a leaky ship. SFV's reveal somehow ended up online, and there was the whole character-names-in-the-image-URLs snafu that led to all of UMVC3's newcomers getting out there immediately.

This used to be me. But at this point, like I said earlier, I'd likely be more hype for whatever Marvel may want to promote, because the likelihood of Capcom making for picks that actually would interest me (much less set my soul ablaze) is pretty slim.

They'd really have to come through with the likes of a Rathalos, a BASARA character, Gene, X and/or Sigma, Soki, Fou-lu, Regina, Alastor, Bass.exe and some others to really get me excited for the Capcom side again.

Hence why I'd prefer Rashid as the SFV rep. Let's be honest, he was the main hero of SFV's story.

That's not to say that I would be opposed to F.A.N.G, but Rashid would transition easier to Mahvel.

I'm not too particular. None of the new cast to me really stands out. However I don't mind any of them either. So a SFV newcomer getting in would be on the very low scale of interest for me.

Was just an idea in case they tried to change things around. They could always kinda break their own "soft" rules. But yeah I'm just throwing it out there as an idea, doubtful it happens.

Capcom definitely needs to poke at some of their dormant IPs to get some big interest up. MVC3 had a lot of bases covered. But they could cover even more if they chill with over reps.
I love RE, but it sure doesn't need 4 reps. Really I don't think any series needs more than 3 when it comes to the capcom side of things.

True, but nobody said that he'd have to be 1:1 like Wolverine. He can be inspired by Wolverine, but have enough differences to stay true to T'Challa's character. While yes, T'Challa is a genius, his rage is much greater than T'Chaka's.

Yeah, exactly. And not to mention that it would be good and free advertising for DMC5. They did send DmC Dante to PS:ASBR, so hopefully they'll do the same here with MvC4 and DMC5's Dante/Vergil.

Fair enough. I just really really dislike Necalli especially how they made him so useless in the Season 1 story mode.
