Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

I finished it last week.

- Story is meh.
- Too many plot holes (probably fixed with DLC/patches). Need more events that happening.
- Tenebrae, Nilfheim, Insomnia SURPRISINGLY not explorable :(
- I haven't explored Altissia much and story mission on Altissia is just...a walk away. Do they realize the effort to make Altissia? :(

Holy shit, I was hyped for too much and ended in disappointment.

I rewatched old 2013 trailer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcUSXub_ypU), and it seems none of the events inside make into final release.

Feels like I want to blame Tabata.

First events are similar like Type-0 (a place attacked by someone).

RIP Fabula Nova Crystallis.

Well nothing we and SE can do for the story except keep maintain the game...previous news about patches are good news. I hope they give some treatment to Altissia, Tenebrae, Nilfheim, and Insomnia.

Altissia was said to be of considerable size and fully explorable from many ship markets to many restaurants. "I hope you can enjoy the time and sights in it" SE said this on their official forums. All lies because Altissia is small and I can't even ride the gondola to the waterfalls. Encounter some unique characters? All I hear is a guy saying "I can eat a horse" every time. ......

This underwhelms me mostly cause I was so excited to explore it. I mean, just look how beautiful it is.

So yeah, finished the pitioss dungeon a few hours ago. I gotta say that for all the grandiosity that dungeon had, getting the black hood was super anti-climactic.

Anywho, I nearly went insane from that dungeon. To note: it's a super cool, extremely involved and very well thought out dungeon with a good amount of extra contents if you so wish to go weird routes. I didn't have too much of an issue with the platforming itself, but I have huge issue with how noct repositions. Nudging the analogue stick a bit might make him take a step, if might make him take 3, who knows, good luck. There are a few jumps where they are very luck of the draw and must have been designed by someone evil, and the ending of the maiden section doesn't do a good job of telling you where to go. (It's not down to her toes, btw)

It's frustrating, and involved and I screwed up a lot. It was a nice, hard (but (for the most part...) forgiving) puzzle platforming dungeon. Not sure I'd recommend anyone else do it unless they are good at special puzzles and have 3-5 hours to spare though.

I think Altissia is of a fine size.

Hell, I'd actually say it's too large in the final game just because of how little it's utilized. :P I mean what was the point of even making it if you're only there for an in-game hour or two.

- Main heroine
- From Tenebrae, still from Fleuret family
- Could see the light from the Kingdom of the Dead
- Implications of more of a platonic relationship
- Forced to battle Noctis against her will
- Noctis' equal in battle
- Supposedly wouldn't have that much screentime (fitting various VXIII rumors that we've gotten since)

Like I said, it's demonstrably false that we knew nothing about her. Knowing nothing about a game would refer to something like Lily Bergamo, or Agent or something similar. It's certainly a very basic outline of how she fit into the story, but considering how people lost their shit for years over the simple ten seconds that we saw of Lily Bergamo, it is hardly surprising that those details were more than enough to get people intrigued.

Luna is more or less a MacGuffin, so no, she's not better in any way. She's garbage.

So, we didn't really know much about her at all, thanks.

I was soooo close to catching that big fish from the Gladdy request at camp. The it broke at the end. Fucker kept going back and forth making it impossible to reel in. I'm at Rank 7.

Beat final boss again and chose a cup noodle photo this time, perfect ha ha. Really hoped it would trigger something cup noodle wise, but nope ha ha.

I should choose a photo of Cindy or Iris. That would be pretty funny to see.

Just finished the game. The story was clearly rushed and needed way more cutscenes to flesh out everything. But god damn that ending imo was perfect and I just wish it had the overall story to back it up.

"You guys.....are the best." *tear* :'(

I liked the place even though it was long, hard and frustrating. But yeah, suuuuuper anti-climactic getting the hood as a reward. Like, I thought it was building up to the statue (obviously the Godess from the art work and original idea for the logo right?) because you could see something down there from all the rooms, then you get on it and I expected something to happen but then it kept going and going but then just plops you out where the hood was and it's just a glowy on the ground like the thousand others in that place.

I have a pic of Galdio's ass that Prompto took once ("this a nice shot" "yeah, I know") that I should use.

EDIT: shit, wasn't meeant to double post, was meant to copy and paste this and edit it into my other one ;_;

Beat the game yesterday, while it was rushed I liked the bittersweet ending.
Just one thing, did the bros die at the end? talking with a friend he is sure about this part.

But on the camp scene is more the last converstation they had before the final battle or at least that's what I believe.

Anyway, I hope we get a little more of story with the DLC.

Now that this is over what else is there to complete besides the dungeons? are there special weapons?

They haven't confirmed but I think the boys lived. That post-credits scene was before they went to Insomnia and we only saw Noct and Luna (and heard the voice of Regis) in the dreaming afterworld.

Feels like the intention is a flashback to the last camp they ever had where they're reminiscing. If the post-credits scene is anything to go by with the abandoned Coleman chairs on the cliff overlooking Insomnia, that's where it took place.

Why do I keep finding people that think Luna was brought back to life... lol. I thought the ending was quite obvious in that regard.

Still farming exp. Almost have enough to jump from lvl 50 to lvl 99! :D

I went to sleep with 1 million multiplied by 3, turned out 2 million is more or less required to jump from 56 to 99, after it was done going up I was left with 1 million to spare.

btw. that 1 million took me about 20 minutes to get after I used all the coins and banknotes I amassed during my playthrough, you really can take advantage of that leveling system.

Brotherhood and Prequel novel show how shit and horrible Promtos Insomnia family is. Dude is saved from a horrible MT fate and they never home he even wanted show his Crownguard outfit and was not even home.

So I maxed out fishing level, caught the Liege without much issues, and then also did the Devil which is more difficult (I had less durability left, and in the meantime collected the Arena item) but yields the best rod in the game. So, yeah best rod for shit. Unless Pink Jade Gar has relevance besides bragging rights.

So about this. Get to level 10 first (easy as fuck). I fucked up at Rank 7 as well. If you can get close at that rank, then you'll probably get it with Rank 10. In the end I hardly reeled in, just taps between his struggles and turns. The devil was harder imho.

Wait, what method are you using? I've been farming the wyvern slaying mission while I have the lasagna power up...

Eat Lasagna, wear moogle charms, Make expericast 1 potency magic with all your Rare, debased coins and stuff. Cast everything at a strong enemy for days, finish him off when depleted. Probably.

I got to 99 by making a bunch of fire spells with the expcast from the coins and banknotes and went to the lvl50 Flan hunt in Altissa and just threw them at him until I ran out then slept in Altissa. It absorbs fire so your team can't kill it (and even if they come close you can whack it with that fire greatsword to top its health up). Give your team bad weapons too.

So did you kill it or not? I'm really confused.

You don't need to kill anything just out of the area and it's enough, but if you do kill you get bonus xp.

I recommend either eating the Lasagne Al Forno (Ignis level 9 cooking) or Magho Lasagne from Altissia (8000 Gil). They give 100% XP bonus. Then ofcourse use 3x bonus at Royal Suite in Altissia.

"Honour of he area?"

Does anyone have a YouTube video with this method?

So I just beat it.

Please for the love of everything that's holy, move on from this game SE.

Now that both Noctis & Luna are dead at least we can hope that there wont be any sequels.

The story telling here is on par with LR & the gameplay doesnt save it.

What a heartbreak..At least now FFXIII has been vindicated.

Oh yeah, once you're out of magic just kill it. And try and stay in the area when using the magic. I don't know how the exp calculation works but I think I read you get bonuses based on the score at the end of a fight so maybe that applies to the exp from spells, I dunno.

I am secretly so stoked for FFXII Remaster. Its just so good. I love the world, and the gambits... the sequels felt gimped compared to it (bar XIV, but its sub MMO eh). A lot of fans hate XII, I did so too once but I later realized it was an excellent mix between Japan and west RPG (I got into Bioware games etc too) and really enjoyed it.

I posted it in the OT but Costlemark Tower is absolutely terrible. The glitching or RNG that occurs during the cube puzzle segment is garbage. I will try again later but they need to fix what goes on there because I want to get all the royal arms. Also I hear even after beating the boss the game can still glitch out and not give you the royal arm so you have to do it again.

Yea, that's what I'm expecting. I'm trying to get the max rank trophy so this is just something to do while I'm there with this quest. Should be quick.

The story in FFXII may not be perfect ,but its far far better than this game's story.

Not to mention FFXII's gameplay is much better.

Bleh.

I found the Devil easier than Liege. Atleast with Devil I could see him clearly and also he didnt change directions as much.

If you don't find the boss after the 2nd elevator then I'd just recommend going back to entrance and doing it again. The enemies leading up to the cube room won't respawn again.

It's much better than going through that shitshow of 3rd and 4th room.

my biggest problem with 12 was the rush to the conclusion, and the godawful post game. All the random "Sell x amounts of unknown untrackable items to stores to unlock X stuff" was terrible. Is the international version better about that? I know the spear chest bullshit was fixed

If there is then it's insignificant. I would often leave the area after 1-2 spells or when enemy is down on health to make it recover health fully.

Thanks for the advice I completely left the dungeon and will come back to it at a later time once I have leveled up more to ease the time dealing with it.

BTW is it possible to get a painting of the party in Altissia? They mentioned it in the past but I searched for the woman who's supposed to draw the painting and I didn't find her.

Did they cut even that?

Yeah...Altissia was the most disappointing aspect of the final game to me actually. :( We knew for some time that the game was going to be much more linear and restricted in it's second half. For that I braced myself for a long time. But what had become of Altissia we only heard a few days before official release by early players and then when I finally got to it myself. What a waste of effort...at least the artists have probably worked for a long time on this city.

I got it. She's sitting down on some steps of the plaza behind the hotel I believe.

It includes the the scene of Verstael walking alongside his troops like a badass from the E3 2013 trailer. It might have more. It bummed me out a bit so I stopped watching. But it was spliced into more recent stuff!

You and I should become friends. I've been arguing this for as long as I can remember. It's the main problem I have with the genre as time goes on. I want my novels back. (Although I'm not sure FFIV and FFV are novels. I think they're kinda small for books. :P)

Also, obligatory mention that Trails is worth considering for those who are seeking a JRPG with real plot length again. I just got into it these past few months, myself. I have a couple of stray quibbles with its narrative tendencies, but it's rock-solid. It's a return to form to some extent.
You (and anyone) are free to add me on twitter to discuss anything gaming related, in more into jrpgs and japanese media because that's what hooked me the most since the very beginning, tho!

The whole JRPG getting worse over time it's something i've been noticing since FFX, that was 15 years to think about it!
