Final Fantasy XV $34.99 on Amazon PS4/XB1

Worth noting that even before the pricecut, FF15 on PS4 was constantly in the top 3 (or top 5 at worst) in December. I'm kinda optimistic about the NPD results for this one :)

LOL I just sold this to someone on Amazon used for $45 this weekend. Just shipped it out today.

It's generally not advisable to buy games on day 1, especially in the holiday season.

I don't really hold that view. Not with GCU. Buy a game day one, 20% off, sometimes even get a $10 GC. Beat it or play it out, sell it for $40-45. Basically ended up paying a rental fee of $5. Sometimes I can sell the game for more and even come out slightly ahead lol.

Yeah but it's especially infuriating in the case of FFXV because the game's going to be less expensive with much more content.

Day one buyers, the ones that trusted Squeenix, have been screwed.

Applies to every game. Those who bought Witcher 3 at launch had to suffer through performance issues, messy UI and bugs.

No reason to say SE is an outlier here.

All the talk of how short the main campaign was got me thinking I could beat it in a couple nights via Redbox.

I used a few promo codes to rent it for $1.50/night but because I kept procrastinating, and was not really able to stomach long marathons, it took me about five days. I should have just done a rental at the video store because it ended up costing me $15 (and 35 hours)

Still, I got to play it on release day and I feel like I never need to play it again so I'm satisfied. Would not have wanted to pay more than that to play through it, tbh.

Nope, because Witcher 3 had a complete story.

All the patches did was improve QoL.

FFXV will add actual story content that's missing in the first place.

It's like (Witcher 3 spoilers)
the battle of Kaer Mohren was patched in later and Vesimir originally died offscreen

How's the game on Xbox I had it on PS4 (original PS4) and the frame rate drops/frame pacing was a bit of a nightmare but is the Xbox version the same?

Can't believe people still thinking they're gonna get a substantial amount of cutscenes that will flesh out the story.

Story will be the same today and when the 3-4 cutscenes will be added.

Damn, I guess even Final Fantasy isn't spared the wrath of the signature Square-Enix short leash these days. I wonder by how many millions of units the game underperformed by Square-Enix's standards.

Seraphis Cain

bad gameplay lol
The game came out less than a month ago. Buy it and return it to wherever you bought it from. It's within the return window. There's no reason anyone should not be getting this price if they paid more.

Digital, unfortunately.

Ah well though. Had fun with it, probably GOTY.

Impressions have been better than I expected so I'll dip eventually. At this rate I should be able to nab it for $20 in the spring!

How long do these prices remain? Or is it just going to go down from here?
Not much consistency with sales on Amazon. Some can go for more than a week, others may last for only a day or so. Sometimes prices may fluctuate, leading to games being either more or less expensive in the same day.

Witcher 3 patches did a shit load more than QoL. Even fleshed out the story of one key character, which will happen with FFXV as well.

You are basically saying a hyperbole comments because patches won't change the story in a way you are predicting with the W3 spoilers.

*if you're very price-conscious.

Day 1 Deluxe Edition, Platinumed the game and still playing post-game dungeons... No regrets. EDIT: Also worth noting that I'm glad people can get in so soon with a nice discount if they so desire!

Overshipped to hell.

so as CoD, Watch Dogs 2, Dishonored 2, Doom, -paste any title-, etc.

I'm caving. I was wanting to wait a few months given my current backlog, but using PrimeNOW's $10 credit, I can get the game for $31 after tax and tip. I think that's a good price to get the game, even if I can't get to it right away.
