Yes, but what about the scoundrel of a smuggler who picks up an old man and a plucky kid as passengers and finds their cause and their mythology shake his world view? Later, he falls for a feisty princess who inspires him to be a better man, to believe in a cause, and to become a famous war hero.
It's all in the presentation, right?
I guess we'll find out in...2019?
May 2018 actually.Just what I was going to say.
Well, that was a let down. I am not yet ready for a full blown impression. Are we using tags in this thread ?
Didn't really like Vader's voice and the fact that fucking everyone dies in the end. I mean I know this was intended to fill a story gap without any lasting changes to the mainline but I feel like this was just a 2 hour action ride with no pay back at the end
The droid reminded me of Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory. Wouldn't be surprised if that was intentional.
wrong

whoosh
May 2018 actually.
The payoff was that the Rebellion survived and got the Death Star plans.
People defending the terribly one dimensional characters haha I couldn't even remember any of the characters names.
Well, no shit Sherlock. I mean I know its mindless complaint when watching a prequel because you basically know whats about happen but I didn't enjoy the story of HOW it did happen as much I thought I would.
Fucking sucks that they introduced all these awesome new characters, only to have them all die. Imagine the blind force guy being trained by yoda..
I couldn't tell Leia was CGI. I thought they just found a lookalike actress who looked a bit weird. So in that way they did fool me.
Sup

(let me know if this is cool, found the scene on YouTube)

kyle katarn died for this![]()
The "I can't even remember their names!" line makes me me feel embarrassed for someone other than the movie.
person above - this isn't the spoiler thread, tag your shit!
Misleading title I guess.

I am awful at remembering names in movies and I had no trouble at all here, even when I went in expecting to. Also I was referring to a bunch of people saying it, not just people in this thread or any one person? How so? Also if you have shit to talk don't be afraid to quote me.

I'm amazed by how often people say they can't remember names of characters and shit.
With names like Chirrut Îmwe and Bodhi Rook I doubt you're that amazed. Do they even mention their last names in the movie?

Man Giacchino's music was incredibly underwhelming, I mean TFA didn't have an impressive soundtrack but it was far better than this.
I was exaggerating a little bit, but did they even say the names of blind guy, his friend and Imperial pilot?
Yeah, Chirrut and Baze introduce themselves and use their names, and Bodhi makes sure to say his name multiple times when he's brought before Saw.I was exaggerating a little bit, but did they even say the names of blind guy, his friend and Imperial pilot?
I genuinely am. They say Bodhi's name a bunch of time. Baze screams Chirrut at the end a few times.
Maybe I just have a very good memory.
Well it is a Gareth Edwards movie. R1 is his best film yet tho.Maybe I just didn't care because the characters aren't like really characters at all? Just all there to fill a scene during the action set piece at the end. None of them really had any character or character development other than Jyn.
I know it looks like I hate the movie but I really enjoyed it, just can't get behind the characters and how simple they were.

Baze only had his name said once, I understand that one, but Baze yelled Chirrut's name a lot, and Bodhi Rook was introduced twice pretty much, once when Saw looks at his ID and when he introduces himself to Jyn on the U-Wing.
Yeah, Chirrut and Baze introduce themselves and use their names, and Bodhi makes sure to say his name multiple times when he's brought before Saw.
The movie is perfect
The reason TFA > R1 for me is because the characters are way more fun and memorable, and much better acted too. Still liked the film though.
For real? You had no problems with the opening of the film and first few acts? The cheese level of some of the dialogue "Rebellions are built on hope!" ? Actors like Forest and Mads being completely wasted and having little to do in the film at all?

I am only speaking for me. Its what I wanted for a long time. It feels like a more down to earth Star Wars, like an actual war movie.
I guess I am just tired of the more mainline Star Wars, (other than Hope, and Empire) because its just repetition of the same themes over and over.
"You really do not share the same opinion as me? FOR REALZ!?!? how can this be possible!?"
