Steam Winter Sale 2016 thread of hoping for better deals elsewhere

Anybody seeing Doom for PC any cheaper than the Steam price? I know CD Keys has it for a dollar cheaper. Was hoping to snag this for around $15ish this season since it is a double dip from my PS4 version I already own.

Why is the season pass for Wither 3 never discounted? I just want the damn DLCs! They sound so good.

In Steam? I thought it was, atleast my friend who was waiting for a sale to get the expansions said that they are now.

Edit: Are they only discounted when bought invidually? Can't check since Steam indeed is down.

Yeah individually they are but I can't check if they are cheaper than the pass this sale right now lol. Just saw that it was the usual price on my wishlist.

oh man remember when steam was hacked a few years ago

I remember that glitch that showed you someone else's account and exposed a bit of our private info. Got a ton of emails from strangers saying they weren't going to touch my steam wallet (not that they could, i think) , so that was nice I guess, lol.

I've bought these so far:

Abzu, Bad Rats: Show, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, Siege of Dragonspear, Batman: The Telltale Series, Dogfight 1942, Dragon Quest Heroes, Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition, Judge Dredd: Countdown Sector 106, The Secret World: Ultimate Edition, Stronghold 3: Gold and Tropico 5: Complete Edition.

And I am strongly considering the Transformers games, Need For Speed games, Darksiders: Warmastered and Overcooked: Gourmet Edition.

Transformers War and Fall are good shooters def. get them.
Devastation is good short Platinum action goodness with Optimus Prime doing Power Geysers.

nfs: hot pursuit ps360 is a good arcade racer and Darksiders 1 is a good actiona dventure game.

I loved Dragonfall! I skipped Returns, is it worth going back to? Should I play it before Hong Kong?

Play Returns last, and only if you're really itching for a Shadowrun game. Returns feels more like a proof-of-concept than a fully fleshed out game. The story is okay, but the gameplay is a little rough around the edges. The gameplay isn't amazing in Dragonfall either, and Hong Kong doesn't do much to improve the situation.

I love the games too but mechanically they're a bit thin. Returns was developed cross-platform with tablets in mind, but the sequels move away from that.

This reminds me, I plan to play through PoE for the first time soon. Are the DLCs worth picking up?

The Pillars DLC gives you some more skills, characters, and bumps up the level cap, which makes you stronger for the main campaign. I'd play through the first 20-30 hours to see how much you like the game. If you're digging the combat and want to stretch the game out, the DLC takes place mainly near the end of act 2/beginning of act 3, so you can just wait on that point in the game before deciding to buy the DLC.

The DLC feels mainly like it's about combat and loot, so if you're more into the story, it's not a necessity. The level cap increase is nice though.

Is Dust: Elysian tail any good? It's very cheap right now

I found the combat and level design to be tissue thin. It's no Guacamelee. It's no more "furry" than Conker or Sonic, the game would have been perfectly fine in the 90s, but now people are weirded out by anthropomorphic animals.

with Optimus Prime doing Power Geysers

triggered. Are you talking about this? :o

Damn, was really looking to get the Skyrim Special Edition since I'm tight on money but 30 bucks is still too much..Any chance it gets a far bigger discount next sale?

Steam is down, right? Blah, I have the day off and wanted to play path of exile! I'm way to lazy to install the standalone client. That took forever, the last time I tried it.

PoE is so good. I don't think I'm even buying any sale games its so good.

Out of cash, out of cache [2]

That is still the GOAT Steam OT title.

My significant other and I chose the childless life and it makes for plenty of free time to play video games.

I live alone and I see my girl once or twice a week.

The problem is not kids (hopefully for a loong time), it's work, bunch of tests and Gaf.

The only games that I can engage for a long time are portables... The Switch will be a blessing (curse?) for me.
