Injustice 2: Supergirl Gameplay Walkthrough

Were Wonder Woman's eyes not matched up? They looked wonky in the intro animation.

This looks *really* nice though. I wasn't in love with the fighting system in Injustice, but I still loved the single-player content. The writing for match-ups and transitions was really entertaining. Those faces are a huge step up.

Neverrealm faces still look odd, but it's an improvement over the previous trailer for sure. Really glad Supergirl is in this game. Looking forward to it.

Christ the facial animation in Netherrealm games continues to be WAY more high quality than it needs to be, the faces contort so realistically. Supergirl's moveset looks great too.

First thing that stuck out is that it seems like NetherRealms has made huge strides with their female faces. It's a huge upgrade over MKX.

Nice.

EDIT: Wow, they updated her face?
Like all games, development continues. The version shown months ago was based on an even older version.

Many effects and shaders are added as development closes, since the focus is on stabilizing everything (like at 60fps in this case).

All Netherrealm games have been like this too.

The face is markedly improved, Wonder woman looks good as well.
Did netherrealm hire new face modellers?
They've always had great modellers, but were limited by the rigs of the model.

In this one, they're also using "the LA Noire tech" which captures facial animations and wrinkles from the voice actors.

Looking forward to trying Deadshot, I hope he's a zoner. I also hope they reveal Deathstroke, just more sword/rushdown-based than before.

Surpised they didn't go with Will Smith's Deadshot, even a little.

They have skins of different characters that appear in movies and TV shows in the original game and mobile game. You can bet they'll have skins for all those characters again in this game (probably will be paid DLC too, rather than unlockables).

They even had Stephen Amell voice redo lines for his Green Arrow skin. Didn't do it for Superman or Zodd skins from Man of Steel, but maybe they'll do more with this one? Would be great to see Supergirl, Flash, and all those from the DC TV shows show up as skins.

That looks great. When is it coming ?
Outside 2017, not much else.

The assumption is Spring, because Netherrealm games are usually released around that time.

But with the multiple DC movies including Justice League, it could be released around summer.

Well I'm glad they're showing new footage finally. This period of silence has still been bizarre. And saying it's coming in 2017 at the end rather than "Early", "Spring", or "Q1/2" kind of indicates there will in fact be a delay and something happened.

Holy crap.

It has said Coming 2017 since the initial reveal trailer. There was only a rumor pointing at March but that rumor also included PC (which hasn't been announced yet).

Early 2017 was assumed because of their previous games, but it has always been "coming 2017".

Lighting effects look really good too, very impressed with that gameplay, glad they put it out!

It's been a minute since they showed anything, hopefully this means coverage is ramping up and we'll get some new reveals soon!

Out of curiosity, why are they sticking with Unreal Engine 3 (albeit the modified version that MKX used)? I know there was some deal that they had concerning the engine not too long ago, but I thought it ended with MKX?
