Injustice 2: Supergirl Gameplay Walkthrough

Wait a minute, how is that combo into super even possible? Isn't the freeze the meter burn version of the ice breath? She shouldn't have full meter for a super after using that. Maybe it's training mode only but that'd be kinda lame.

They do demonstrations with infinite meter.

Because this is the animation style nrs does, and always has? What a weird question

Well if they are going to jump from MK to Injustice they should make them look and feel a bit different before they are basically the same game just with small differences. Marvel doesn't animate and play the same as SFV for example.

Play MK9 then Injustice then MKX, they feel a lot different. Marvel was it's own thing before it was ever a vs. Series but rival schools, sfxt, fighting jam, capcom vs. Snk. Etc had very similar feels just like tatsunko vs. Capcom had similar feels.

Holy crap.

Is that Jennifer Lawrence?

Nice.

EDIT: Wow, they updated her face?

Its called adding maps. We all tried to point out before that only the models and animation get hit hard in the beginning of a game. You keep adding reflection, depth, ambient occlusion and other maps that make the models look good later on as you go. Shit like mapping out the way all your textures light and look takes the equivalent of making a detailed painting in time. Plus as they lighting and engine are tweaked it impacts any map work already in place forcing touchups or do overs...thats why you save them till you've had a chance to test the game in motion for a bit first.

They didn't update "her face" they just got a bit further in the texture maps is all is why her face looks so much better now. If any model work was done it looks very minor. The polygons dont really look like they've been resculpted heavily if at all...just serious changes to how light and shadows fall across it. Its obvious they finally have some actual maps in place now telling the engine where to not put dark shadows or heavy highlights.

Injustice 2 looks great, Tekken 7 is coming soon as well. All I got to do now is to learn to play fighting games.

I tried practicing with SkullGirls but after being able to occasionally beat hard enemies I thought I should at least try the PvP once.

Got my ass whooped so hard that I havent touched the game since.
I didnt expect to win but man...

When I played Injustice1 like two years ago I beat the campaign and played against my brother and his girlfriend, she never had played those games before and I still lost. lol

I feel like the eyes got extra shaders and look a lot less "dead" now. Afaik are they using the same face tech that LA Noir used, it could be that the old stuff was more like the "raw" footage and they now went over all the small details that didn't come out well in the face scanning.

She had a baby face originally, it looked bad in the harsh early lighting, but okay when lit well.

She looks aged up more now, with the thinner face.

Jesus Christ she looks amazing. Not just her updated look but the move set as well.

This game is going to be LEGIT. Already loved the first one

A Netherrealm game without hilariously bad female faces? Neat.

Can animations be next? Because the animations still suck. They could always do something interesting with the art direction to distract from it but I'm sure they'll forever cling to their "realistic" aesthetic.

Seeing that super and wondering how anyone thats human like Batman and Nightwing or even the Joker survives that shit. I mean video games and their logic but damn.

The first game justifies this by having every character take a pill that makes them super strong and super durable.

I'm dead serious.

Might as well just have thrown WW into the sun and saved herself fighting another round. :p

I wish the costume design wasn't so horrid for a lot of these characters but that aside the game looks pretty fun.

Really hope it comes to PC

Loved Injustice 1

I'm sure it will later this year or at some point. Injustice 1 came out for PC when the Ultimate Edition was released later in November 2013 (original came came out in April 2013).

I know WB doesn't have a good track record for releasing PC ports but Injustice Ultimate Edition and MK9 both were pretty decent. Can't say the same for MKX but I hear that has been improved with the XL update (correct me if I'm wrong).

Why do they use that Mortal Kombat animation style for this. Can they just animate this properly and better.

I was just going to post about how shit the fighting animations are. Great graphics tech, awful animation.

They aren't animating "Mortal Kombat style", they just have shitty animators.

I feel like Skullgirls is the only Western-developed fighter to understand how to animate fighting games.

Yeah but that was the first game. Worst part about it was the edgelord Superman. God that was bad. But it spawned that disturbingly popular Evil Superman comic and
made a good Luthor who died for the heroes to add insult to injury.

There's something frightening about them fixing the faces. It's like I'm seeing a fighting game monopoly slowly being realized.

Lol.

There are tons of fighters coming out. What monopoly?

This looks awesome, though. Played more mkx than i wanted just to get used to nrs movement in preparation for this.
