Steam Winter Sale 2016 thread of hoping for better deals elsewhere

Oh yeah I just beat Driver San Francisco. Final missions were OK in concept though they were irritating to beat but Ihad a blast all things said. Wish you could replay the main missions without having to restart the game though.

Also Lumines is on Steam btw but hadn't been discounted in forever.

is there a new idlemaster or similar thing? I have so many cards to idle again >_>

Anyone able to offer impressions on the state of Dishonored 2 on PC? I have a machine that literally is the recommended spec (save for my processor being just a bit slower) -- any chance I'll be able to pull off medium-high-ish settings at 1080p and expect 60fps performance?

I currently own the game on PS4 and play via PS4 Pro on a 1080p monitor, though from what I understand, that game gains zero bonuses on 1080p over a standard PS4. It's capped at 30fps and the input latency that seems to exist on PS4 makes it generally feel quite underwhelming to play, mostly because I find I can't precisely snap my power usage in a way that feels equivalent to my experience playing the first game on PC. Was thinking I'd take advantage of GameStop's trade-toward-Steam-card bonus with my PS4 copy and pay out of pocket for the difference for a PC copy while it's on sale.

Same goes for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, actually, though I did play Human Revolution on Xbox 360 back in the day and generally feel like I cope with the console-based shortcomings much better than in Dishonored, largely because it feels like the game is designed to use abilities far less frequently and for much more dramatic effect, so taking things slower is a bit easier to do. $20 pricepoint during this sale has made the prospect of conversion quite tempting, and it seems like it generally fares better optimization-wise.

I can't speak exactly to how Dishonored 2 will run on your system, as I am using a 980 Ti, but my other specs are at the recommended level. It runs pretty well with a solid 60 FPS at almost all times in 1080P. I do not notice slowdown.

Mankind Divided, for that price, is also fantastic, and about equally demanding on hardware, though there are some areas that are more.

The last discount is dated 2011 (Winter Sales)? I've it in my library, never played since then :p

Definite +1 right here. Go TATE like I do, for top-tier Downwelling.

Even though I'm still addicted to WoW, I folded and got Danganronpa and Inside. Danganronpa is amazing so far so probably about to double fold and get number 2.

ok so idle master still works, but they changed how cards drop right? I just closed it and it gave me a punch club card, dont you just need to open and close games now or something? I remember you guys talking about it?

There is some sort of card drop glitch, yes. If you open a game for 5 seconds there is a chance you get a card. But it's not guaranteed. It's a glitch.
For me personally it's too much work, I still idle the old fashioned way.

ah I see, cheers

Wait, did they fix the TATE mode in Downwell? Last time I tried it it kept crashing or giving a black screen

edit: oh wtf it's fixed finally. but still no steam cloud support :[

double edit: never mind. it's still broken.

AAAH! Why did I buy you FACTORIO!?

im thinking of betraying you Milamber. I just wanted you to be aware of that. The knife will be in your back, but at least you will know it was coming.

Buying Factorio? Yeah. I just saw a youtube video and just mindlessly added to cart. Sorry.

oh I thought you meant God Eater

heres a nitpick about Paint it Back. Each category doesnt show if you have unfinished puzzles in it. It just says "exhibit open" and thats it.

I want to move on from this one because this last master puzzle is breaking me, but im afraid ill forget which one I was missing later (and assuming Ill start dropping a few to save them till the end it will only get worse)

I'm already using an Xbox One controller for my desktop and I play on a TV in the living room - is there anything I'm missing from a Steam controller? Can you control the desktop mouse using it? Does the controller do a decent job mimicking mouse in games?

Picked up Assassin's Creed Syndicate and holy shit, its way better than Unity. I'm actually having fun with it while for the past few installments I wanted more ship action.

Need a little advice from Steam-GAF.

I've sold a few more cards, so I'm sitting at $7.65.

My options in my wish list:
- Age of Mythology. The only issue with that is I already have AoE III in my library and haven't played it. Enough of a difference to get AoM or should I just fire up AoE?

- Endless Space. The only issue with that is I already have Galactic Civ II and only scratched the surface with it. Any reason to get ES or just play Gal Civ?

- Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Never played a Metal Gear game. Does that matter for this?

Other options:
- Sell a couple more cards and grab Helldivers at $7.99
- Take a look at the $5 games like Life is Strange or Undertale and have some change left over.

Do you still need the stupid mobile authenticator to use the marketplace easily?

I've heard there are still massive problems with the authenticator

Thinking of picking up something cheap out of my wishlist. What do you all think between Tron 2.0, Shouded in Sanity or Project Snowblind?
