Steam Winter Sale 2016 thread of hoping for better deals elsewhere

Do retail copies of Wolfenstein 2009 come with a Steam key? I'm trying to replace all my 360 backlog with PC versions so I can finally put that console away.

Wolfenstein 2009 never got Steam keys. The only way you can get a steam copy now is to find someone with a gift. But you might have to sell the car or something, people want a lot for this.

Acti's first foray into Steamworks was Modern Warfare 2 a few months later, unfortunately.

I think we should turn page 110 (50ppp 4 life) of this thread into one of the following:

- page to discuss how great Super Mario Run is, and trade friend thingies

- page to port beg for OG Xbox games that we really want on Steam

- page to discuss anime and pop culture with an extreme focus on matches + gasoline or other accelerants

- a hierarchy of soon-to-be-removed games with prices, like a "bang for your buck"

That feel when you want to buy a game but then saw the reviews and it's full of fanboy drivel shit.

I am looking at you Rivals of Aether and Parkitect.

Anyone played Chime/Chime sharp? Worth it (and if so is sharp worth the extra?).

Love me some puzzle games, especially when music orientated.

cheapest place to buy the newest DOOM, please.

i'm giving in!

If you happen to be living in Finland, which is highly unlikely, Gigantti has a Steam code for 15€. In fact they have a bunch of other good deals too like Dark Souls 3 for 24€ and Fallout 4 for 15€.

Chime is fucking amazing. I havent played Sharp.

Downwell is so much better with responsive controls. I'm up to 13 consecutive enemy hits without touching the ground now! On my phone I barely even noticed the numbers above the player's head because I rarely got more than three.

Get it! http://store.steampowered.com/app/360740/

Definite +1 right here. Go TATE like I do, for top-tier Downwelling.

conclusion about this sale. I bought more things than expected, certainly more than last sale (last real sale, not the stupid autumm one 3 weeks ago), and yet I didnt get one "big single player game" as I intended, a "triple A" if you will.

Between fighting games, smaller indie games for less than a dollar, puzzle (paint it back), a couple of Final Fantasy games that Im not going to play because I still have the others to play, I didnt get that one big thing to boot up right now and play.

Well I guess I got Doom with the gamersgate fuck up. I keep eyeing Mankind Divided and God Eater 2 and cant pull the trigger on either, if only they were a bit lower (damn it pubs if youre gonna go 67% just man up and go 75%!).

Hitman with the gamestop price would be a easy buy but I missed that.

Is there any kind of a "hidden gems" thread for this sale for stuff people might not have heard of or that they might have heard of but dismissed?

Do you like games like Castlevania or Metroid?

Do you like games that are heavy on atmosphere?

Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight

Edit: Apparently it's $7 after conversion. Don't care, it's worth it.

I got regional pricing, so yeah its still cheaper here. This looks like something I like as I been playing DS3 a lot.

Lots of them, if you can give any hint of what you're looking for. Help peope help you.

Well my favorite game is DS3.

My top ten played by playtime are:
Terraria
GTAV
Starbound
DS3
FO4
TC The Division
DS1
BOI:R

Dark Messiah if you dont already have it, through its usually cheaper in sales.
Got it.

Humm good choice but maybe next sale.

ABZU is a great buy.

Looks good, but I don't know.

Anyway, if anyone's reading this, still waiting for some opinions on certain games:

Tales of Zestiria (worth it at that price?)

Halcyon 6 (has anyone played this? Is it as in-depth as it looks or did it get ambitious and spread things too thinly?)

I absolutely adore Chime, but my love doesn't extend quite so far for Chime Sharp. Gameplay wise, Sharp is an improvement, but the music is less to my taste - there's, like, 3 times the number of songs in Sharp, but nothing for me that matches Philip Glass's Brazil in the first game.

That said, they're both great games, and I don't think you can go particularly wrong with either at the prices they're going for now.

ty.

Any of the VN's on steam actually good? I hear decent things about root double and muv-luv has a huge fanbase but the art seems kinda bad...

Root Double is fantastic. Same for Steins;Gate. Both are really interesting sci-fi stories that hold up really well.

Higurashi is really excellent, too. Great horror story. The first 4 chapters have been released on Steam now.

The House in Fata Morgana has gotten great reviews. I've only played a little bit of it, but it does seem good even just from what I've played so far.

World End Econimica, which finally had its last chapter released last week, is also a really interesting VN, with a heavy economic focus that separates it out from pretty much anything else out there.

One of these days I'm going to load up my steam wallet with 15 bucks, get drunk and play the worst/funniest <3€ games on steam. Too long did I neglect the trashcan section of steam

Anyone able to offer impressions on the state of Dishonored 2 on PC? I have a machine that literally is the recommended spec (save for my processor being just a bit slower) -- any chance I'll be able to pull off medium-high-ish settings at 1080p and expect 60fps performance?

I currently own the game on PS4 and play via PS4 Pro on a 1080p monitor, though from what I understand, that game gains zero bonuses on 1080p over a standard PS4. It's capped at 30fps and the input latency that seems to exist on PS4 makes it generally feel quite underwhelming to play, mostly because I find I can't precisely snap my power usage in a way that feels equivalent to my experience playing the first game on PC. Was thinking I'd take advantage of GameStop's trade-toward-Steam-card bonus with my PS4 copy and pay out of pocket for the difference for a PC copy while it's on sale.

Same goes for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, actually, though I did play Human Revolution on Xbox 360 back in the day and generally feel like I cope with the console-based shortcomings much better than in Dishonored, largely because it feels like the game is designed to use abilities far less frequently and for much more dramatic effect, so taking things slower is a bit easier to do. $20 pricepoint during this sale has made the prospect of conversion quite tempting, and it seems like it generally fares better optimization-wise.
