Got Cities Skyline, Ori, and Stardew valley

Any other good ''simulation'' game I should look at ? Already got Civ... How is Simcity now? Is it still broken crap?

Or any good metroidvanias? I have momodora and shantae's pirate curse already too

We have (seemingly, some) similar tastes in simulation games. I recommend RimWorld and Factorio.

I'd suggest Project Highrise if you were ever a fan of Sim Tower.

Just grabbed
Dex
Gemini Rue
Grandia II

And all 3 shadowruns in the bundle.
Returns
Dragonfall
Hong kong

Paid 8$

I hope shadowrun is good
I'd love to hear some Dex impressions, one of those games I'm like 85% sold on but between that last 15% and all the other options, I just can't get myself to pull the trigger yet.

Another small giveaway. This time one of my favourite games on the PS3.

I really want to like it. The world is great, characters etc... but the strange twin-stick hacking game where you have the constitution of tissue paper really turned me off and I put it down. I do plan to get back to it.

Thanks, for the heads up and the impending follow up.

The Shadowrun stuff is solid, and if you like games like Gemini Rue enough to buy Gemini Rue, yeah, I'm pretty sure you'll be at least satisfied with it, especially at that price point.

I had something long written about my thoughts on Grandia II, but near the end I remembered that I purposefully avoid the text of movie reviews until after I've seen them nowadays because I've found that they color my opinion and kind of ruin my experience by having me on hyperalert for the issues the bring up. So, instead, let me just say this -- enjoy a great game

How far along is the restoration mod for Final Fantasy VI on steam?
I read about some mod that did wonders to the UI and merged the best sound and sprites of past versions. Never played the game and I'm considering buying it now or waiting one more round for the Switch VC version.

Also: Any recommendations for digital board games on steam besides Delve Deeper?

Geez, if you undercut the market by a penny your cards just flyyy into people's hands.

Always price 1 cent above. This is how I made 100 € instead of about 87 € in roughly the same amount of waiting time. This is one free Humble Monthly bundle for no disadvantage.

Undercutting is only justified if you cannot wait, or if the volume is low, for instance for expensive foil cards.

LastPass is pretty cheap and great though. I use 1Password, which I think is the best, but their business model sucks and I fart on their faces now. Any password manager is better than none.

Lastpass is what I use.

Cheaper than GAMEPUMP though.

Any password manager is better than none... but a solution using local storage, such as KeePass, is more secure than a solution like LastPass or 1Password.

Edit: Apparently, 1Password is "secure by design", but you still have to trust a company based in Canada, and you need a strong master password, which I imagine most people do not have in practice. However, if I read it right, you need to browse with admin privilege to use the browser extension, which sounds pretty unsafe.

To use browser extensions, you must have administrative rights on the computer you're using. This has been an issue with users on a PC assigned by a workplace without admin rights.

Edit²: Regarding the US-based company LastPass, which also brags that it relies on end-to-end encryption.

2015 security breach
On Monday, June 15, 2015, LastPass posted a blog post indicating that the LastPass team discovered and blocked suspicious activity on their network on the previous Friday. Their investigation revealed that LastPass account email addresses, password reminders, server per user salts, and authentication hashes were compromised. LastPass encrypted user vault data were not taken in this incident. The blogpost was quoted as saying, "We are confident that our encryption measures are sufficient to protect the vast majority of users. LastPass strengthens the authentication hash with a random salt and 100,000 rounds of server-side PBKDF2-SHA256, in addition to the rounds performed client-side. This additional strengthening makes it difficult to attack the stolen hashes with any significant speed."[21][22]

2016 incidents
In July 2016, a blog post published by independent online security firm Detectify detailed a method for reading plaintext passwords for arbitrary domains from a LastPass user's vault when that user visited a malicious web site. This vulnerability was made possible by poorly written URL parsing code in the LastPass extension. The flaw was not disclosed publicly by Detectify until LastPass was notified privately and able to fix their browser extension.[23] LastPass responded to the public disclosure by Detectify in a post on their own blog, in which they revealed knowledge of an additional vulnerability, discovered by a member of the Google Security Team, and already fixed by LastPass.[24]

If it's gotta be 100% free across the board, I guess some version of KeePass and whatever mobile app supports KeePass files and sync the files on Dropbox or whatever?

Well, except if you use Dropbox of course... Then better go with the free version of LastPass.

Am I missing something with the scythe in God Eater Resurrection? Seems like Y is a long range attack and as you get closer to the enemy the damage goes to nil but the range itself isn't long enough to ever be useful and it's slow so it's better to just mash x?

The Scythe has some pretty neat moves.
R+X starts its wide range attack, after which you can keep pressing X to continue it until you're out of stamina or press Y for a vertical slice which can then be followed up with R+X again to pull it back it, shredding everything.
Damage during those moves is higher at the tip.
Personally I've only started using the Scythe in Rage Burst tho. Resurrection felt like it wasn't really balanced around it that well (which makes kinda sense sind the scythe wasn't present in the original God Eater (Burst)).

I was getting pretty annoyed with God Eater because I'd been fighting the same types of enemies for hours and then they introduced a monster that is a giant grim reaper on tank treads that shoots missiles and I'm back in. Hope there is so much more like that.

Unfortunately that repetitiveness is my biggest gripe with the game as well. I think it overuses the same type of Aragami too much, even though it does have a fair amount of different ones.
It's especially bad during a stretch in the middle, where you're mostly fighting varieties of the Aragami you've already fought.
But everytime you think it's getting really repetitive there's a new one and it's awesome as fuck.
You think the Quadriga is awesome? I thought so too. Now it's on my 'it's cool, but there's so much more cooler shit'-list.

I think pacing gets a lot better after the first story arc.

I'm current playing The Witness. It's really fun. And also easy to get lost and confused.

wow nickelback isle is super hard

i ended up going back to grinding some more in the regular world lol

maybe i should stop switching classes and just focus on one but i feel like you clean out a class too quick and it's just fun to try new things out

i've already maxed 4 classes and i'm about to max my fifth lol

it's fantastic

don't look at a guide by any means

if you're stuck just let it go, bite your teeth and allow yourself to be frustrated and come back in a few days

the feeling of figuring out things by yourself in that game is second to none

I've bought so many games this sale.

Hitman
Abzu
Batman Arkham Knight
Mad Max
Age of Empires 2 HD

Still considering Hyperlight Drifter and anything else that jumps out.

It's a good enough game to scratch an itch most games don't, meaning sidescrolling RPG stuff inspired by classics like Flashback, but I wouldn't call it amazing and the combat isn't fantastic. If you like cyberpunk and the idea of a sidescrolling RPG, it's certainly worth the sale price even if it's not going to blow your mind.

I really want to like it. The world is great, characters etc... but the strange twin-stick hacking game where you have the constitution of tissue paper really turned me off and I put it down. I do plan to get back to it.
The hacking minigame is awful at first, indeed, but you can upgrade your hacking tech to become overpowered and the hacking becomes a joke over time.

I use Lastpass in everything except ( I keep these in my heart) my bank password, Paypal, personal email, and most importantly Steam account. Everything gets into Lastpass and I always use it to generate password coz im lazy that way.

its not fucking rocket science Capcom, the fuck you doing over there?

Capcom is a company that appears to operate based on moon-logic.
Don't try to understand it, just hope that they accidentally do the right thing.

I've been using LastPass in the same way, except that I also keep my Steam and Paypal password there (got 2FA on both). It has had some issues (as Wok points out), but overall it is a really practical solution.

+1 for KeePass but the iPhone/Android apps aren't great. (unless I just haven't found the right one..)

How does Sh:Homecoming run on windows 10? I'm reading mixed things on Steam and seeing that maybe it gets delisted I'm debating on buying the game

Is Batman: Arkham Knight season pass worth it? I bought the game last month, but now I am still on the fence over season pass. :/

How much is it? I have it on the PS4 so haven't needed to check its Steam price. If you only want it for the story content/missions I would say don't pay over $10-12 for it. The season of infamy has some decent stuff, but ultimately still only takes around
90mins - 2 hours
to complete. Same sort of time for the Batgirl stuff.

If (like me) you enjoy the predator stuff, and the batmobile race track stuff then I would say its a no brainer. There is a lot of that stuff. And skins, glorious skins.

Unforgiving Trials: The darkest Crusade -- MB-243A1BA500A4DBE6 - Taken by vivekTO
Enjoy

Well to round off 2016 gonna put time into Batman Telltale and Darkness 2.

Lmao. Yoshihiko went Monster Hunting now?

Maybe they need a refreshment after going full Dragon Quest on the previous seasons.

They also went Mario in the same episode...which Buddha did not approve of :P

Wanted to check this out and its apparently not available in Europe. Kinda odd, considering Steamdb shows european price. Can anyone from Europe see store the page?

You can ask a few traders to get the game for you. I don't live in the US and redeemed the game just fine on my end.

How dire!

I love Canada. However, privacy issues are better handled by European laws. And in Europe, I would rather go with a company based in Germany.

This website is pretty great to be informed about privacy issues and tools, and they have this categorization, which I do find a bit silly but still:

All this DOOM talk over the last days on the Bombcast finally made me purchase the game.

Thank god for Steam refund.

I assume I "just don´t get it", but did not like anything about the first 2 hrs.

Still have 50€ in my Wallet and no idea what to buy with it.

Ok so.. Should I stay away of any of these:

Deadlight
Downwell
Ghostbusters
Life of Pixel
Mimpi
Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate
Poncho
Satellite Reign
Stealth Bastartd Deluxe
Tesla Effect
The Cave
Transistor

Its my haul if GAF agrees. Or I can get XCOM 2 instead of all this.. So hard..

You can say this about ANY game company.

Are the games I played of those you listed.

Pixeljunk Shooter is one of my favorite games on Steam, and a no brainer for that price.

Satellite Reign seemed really cool, but the performance was all over the place on both my laptop and desktop computers, so I refunded it.

The Cave is quite nice. It hasn't the best controls, and the level design can be a bit weird with lots of unnecessary jumps, but it has some fun puzzles, some really great graphical design (love the way the knight moves, and the water in this), and it has some really funny moments. Well worth it for that price, enjoyable and it will last you somewhere around 12-15h I think.

Transistor managed to feel repetitive in the 4h it took for me to beat it. The combat has some nice ideas, but the encounters and enviroments start to feel like the same things over and over again really quickly. But a lot of other people like it, so it might be worth a try for that price.

Transistor lets the player go about mixing up your techniques and utilizing the handicap system. Therein lies the game's positives.

Just a heads up for people unable to buy Silent Hill Homecoming on Steam.

Did not expect this to work, but gave it a shot. Got the game from Nuuvem with VPN for 1.38€. Paid with Paypal linked with Mastercard and it activated as Silent Hill Homecoming Retail (even though it says its region locked on their site).

Thanks, valuable info all of that. I'll drop Transistor. I have Bastion and never got around to playing it so I feel Transistor would only suffer a similar fate. If one day I play and like Bastion I'll go for Transistor at some sale. (Or if they are completely different games and Transistor is the better game, it would be a good time to let me know now..)

I'll buy Satellite Reign regardless of performance issues I think.. If it runs like shit that will be even more Syndicate nostalgia to someone who actually played Arctic Accelerator on an A500.

Transistor is the second best game that's come out this decade. Keep at it.

Capcpom pls
You discount the DLC
BUT DON'T DISCOUNT THE BASE GAME

How is the Sword of Islam expansion for Crusader Kings 2 btw?

Unless I'm missing something both SFV and SFxTekken are discounted?

As for Sword of Islam, if you want to play a Muslim character in Crusader Kings 2, it's essential. If not it's not. That's the case for a lot of CK2 and EU4 DLC.
