WINNNNNNNNNNNNNERS

Steam is right this was all a meme

Age of Empires 2 not winning test of time is laughable to fucking Skyrim? Lmao

Confirmed: checking discovery list three times doesn't give you a third card. We are deprived from the third card today and tomorrow too. I hope there is a way to get the third card.

Only 2 games I voted for actually won :(

Poor Age of Empires. I'll never understand the Skyrim hype. Played it through once and have no urge to replay it again. Absolutely buggy mess with game not reading proper sound files and ugly as hell shadow effects.

I really liked Oblivion but perhaps it was because I was younger and couldn't play online at the time. Can't replay that anymore either.

If you like Skyrim then more power to you tho.

Edit: Atleast I can still like stardew valley!

Even if someone loves Skyrim it makes no sense for that category.

wow these steam award results are garbage lol

also apparently i didn't vote for the last three awards?

i'm guessing those are the community awards and the voting page didn't made it clear you had to vote 4 times

oh valve...

Could someone trade me a farm animal card? My trades are held a day, so if I want to be sure I get the badge I pretty much have to do it today.

Skyrim and Doom totally deserved the win.

The rest, not so much.
Skyrim? The other Elder Scrolls games were just as moddable and nobody gives a damn today.

Age of Empires literally received an expansion this month 15 years after its release.

these awards mean nothing but I can't help but feel a little salty anyway

Rocket League got robbed for Just 5 More Minutes

Are you kidding? The Civilization games are the definition of "just five more minute" games, they are the poster child for the category! Civ got robbed!

Nice to see ETS2 won two awards though, both very fitting too. Most of my picks actually won, I only missed two of them.

Two Steam cards later, and my final haul is:

Street Fighter V
Enter the Gungeon
Awesomenauts
Super Amazing Wagon Adventure
Divekick
Rivals of Aether
Rogue Legacy
Uplink
Tabletop Simulator
Antichamber
NEO AQUARIUM - The King of Crustaceans
Mr. President!
Audiosurf
Space Hole (Thank you trading cards!)
Stacking
Copy Kitty
Duck Game
Pony Island
Oh... Sir! The Insult Simulator

Pretty nice haul, I'd say!

On one hand those results were extremely predictable.

On the other, Euro Simulator 2 got the most awards. All is right in the world.

Steam awards seem like sorta pointless though.

That item actually helps?
I tried it a few times in there but didn't see anything change at all, does it only work in certain rooms or am I just blind?

There are some places where you have to use it, with the shimmering things, there are also a bunch of secrets. It didn't have much use though.

I'm looking for a great new game to play today and tomorrow. Any suggestions by anyone? Some ideas I have from reading are:

OxenFree (Bought yesterday and beat)
Hyper Light Drifter
Dying Light
Dark Siders 1 over 2
Axiom Verge
Dead by Daylight
XCOM 2(Not sure if I am in the mood for a strategy game but the plot looks interesting)
Pony Island (bought)

Any other suggestions? Thoughts? Thanks!

Huh, does it get significantly better later on?
The beginning really didn't click with me.

First 3-5 hours are awful IMO but it picks up once there is more action and more moves unlocked. The story is enjoyable even if a bit generic and the party members you get later on are more interesting

Axiom Verge gets my vote

I recommend Downwell and Ori and the Blind Forest if you haven't played either of them.

Wait, was it always january 2:nd that the sale ended!? I was sure it was on the 6:th, I get a paycheck on the fourth and in my head always thought I have time to get some more games.T_T

Huh, will give it another chance then when I have time.

No one should be disappointed with the winners. I mean, once you understand that it's a matter of which option has the largest fanbase, you can't really be let down. You can only be pleasantly surprised when something like Eurotruck 2 wins two awards.

To be fair "I thought it was cool before" applied a lot more to Euro Truck Simulator 2. Its a popular game but it had a slow burn into the popularity it has today.
Stardew Valley exploded overnight.

it's just a pity that valve decided to do these shitty awards instead of an actual goty thing

or they could've used these awards to give some love to games that aren't featured on the main page by forcing people to vote for hidden gems or whatnot

like "best use of a farm animal" serves no real purpose other than being an ad for goat simulator

the idea of doing steam awards is great imo, just need to be focused on better ideas than these

my last haul cart keeps growing cause of card money. I keep going "ok if I get to this milestone Ill also get this...ok ok for realsies now, fi I get to THIS milestone, ill also get this... "

Welp. This is it. My completed final haul.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky
Ys VI
Ys The Oath in Felghana
Consortium
IMSCARED
Deadbolt
Lost Bros
Tales of Symphonia
Ghostbusters: The Videogame
Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight
Antichamber
Seraph
Max: The Curse of the Brotherhood

I feel satisfied.

I hope next year they do the awards only for the games released in 2017. It would be better I think and give more highlight to indie titles, hidden gems etc.

It would be a great awareness tool on top of the discovery thing they did.
