Who will buy Zelda BOTW WiiU ?

What system are you buying Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild for?

Wii U version for me, the comparison videos I've seen haven't been able to sway me into wanting the Switch version. As long as the frame rate is steady, that's all I need.

Then I'll treat the Switch version like I do all "Definitive Editions", ignore it until I me ready to replay that game again.

I'll likely get the wii u version, unless it runs extremely poorly compared to the switch version. Will wait for reviews and impressions.

I will. I know it won't look as nice but if I can get 30fps and close to the same level of graphics I'll be perfectly fine.

Buying Nintendo consoles within the first year or two in launch only makes me depressed on dropping so much money on so few games, but once that game library builds up I'll grab one.

Not a hard decision now, is it?

What the hell, why is the lighting/color so significantly different? System power should have nothing to do with that.

Because that's what they're labeling the video as. Much better clickbait than just saying it's a comparison of old footage versus new footage.

If I had money I would double dip but for portability I am going with Switch. Also no lther launch games anyways. THe WiiU versiom will be rare in the future and I'll probably regret it lol.

If I had a Wii U, I would definitely buy it for Wii U. There is no reason to have a Switch at launch when you can wait until the Holiday when Mario Odissey hits and Nintendo drop the price of the console (if they are smart).

Wait, where are you seeing that on wiki? Im seeing it coming to GCN after Wii on wiki, for NA. I always remembered it launching later on GCN since that's what I got it for (first Christmas present from my then-girlfriend now-wife 😁).

Yeah, apparently my flu-ridden brain can't differentiate 'November' and 'December'!

Count me in. I figured this had been cancelled for the switch. Just hope it's not too much of a downgrade

With all the seeming negativity about the Switch it really wouldn't surprise me if Nintendo didn't cancel it for the WiiU to force WiiU owners (who want the game) to get a Switch, I know this is very cynical of me, but when push comes to shove, Nintendo likes to play hardball now it seems in regards to it's fans and consumers.

They didn't cancel Twilight Princess on the GameCube

Huh, so is that official?
I saw this, but no mention of a Wii U version size though.

edit: oh, grabbed this from SIFTD.

Ugh... being sick sucks. Hope you feel better soon man.

I think it's too late for that tactic when they're still saying stuff like this. I would be surprised now if they cancelled it like... a month and a half before launch and I'm assuming they've been continuing spending money on getting the Wii U version ready.

It stands to reason that 80% of Wii U users should buy this version.

What is the idea of buying the Switch before December (when Mario comes out) knowing that in 9 months all the games they can play are basically the same as they can play on Wii U?

Nintendo hasn't been ugly or stupid concerning cancellations and localizations since the Wii days imo, even then that Operation Rainfall served something.

They even got #FE out and released despite selling poorly everywhere and Zelda is the ONLY game we know was pushed for Switch. Their cendorship and Region Locking has been shitty, however

I'm getting the Wii U one because I'm not getting Switch at launch, depending on how much I like it might it get again for Switch later, but even then I doubt it.

I don't have a Wii U, anybody think Nintendo will give ambassador rewards for early Switch adopters?

There wasn't a Wii U ambassador program even though people said there would. So yeah.

Played Twilight Princess on GC, and will play BOTW on Wii U.

It's not that I don't want to get the Switch. But I almost never buy systems right at launch.

I'm getting it for the Wii U. Zelda and Bayonetta 2 are why I bought the damn system.

Switch has a long battle ahead of it if they want me to buy it. #metroide32017

Yeah, I think you're right and good on NIntendo for finally ditching Region Locking like the rest.

I will buy this in addition to the Switch as my fiancee will most likely hog the Switch and Zelda as soon as it enters the household. It happens every time a new Zelda comes along. Having two copies will be the only way to play it at launch for me. :)

I'm going to buy the Wii U version. I believe you need the Bluray to actually run it in the CEMU Emulator, and with the crazy amounts of progress they've made, I can't wait to run this game in 4K :).

It kind of sucks though because I'm buying the Wii U version and I'll most likely also buy the Switch version for the special edition. Something tells me the Wii U version will be a collectible item in the coming years though.

Pretty sure most people just dump the games on a Wii U and then transfer the ISO to their pc to play that way. No blue ray required :p

If you buy the Wii U version will you get the Switch version free? (like how PlayStation has Cross-Buy for many games)

Nope.

The Switch is stylish looking, and interesting in concept, but I fear for its viability moving forward. When Sega and EA come on stage just to say that they will probably maybe make some games for this thing, and they are promoting things like NMH3 when it apparently hasn't even started production yet, there is trouble brewing.

I hope I'm wrong and Nintendo successfully combines their portable and console markets to help breathe new life into their consoles, but I currently do not see the Switch going well.

A shame too. Their product design and marketing (outside the conference) seems to have improved a good bit over the WiiU.

Sufficed to say - I'm getting the WiiU version.

If I do buy it it will definitely be on the WiiU. Though with all the cool games coming out early this year I can't even really say I'll be getting it at all.

I just saw an IGN comparison between Wii u and switch versions and it's hard to believe the difference. The wii u version looks so much worse that the video almost seems exaggerated. I was planning on getting the Wii u version too. I'm on mobile and too lazy to post the video but I didn't see anyone talking about it.

I'm just going to wait until whenever I get a Switch to play it. I'd rather play Horizon Zero Dawn first anyways so by the time I finish that game I'm sure I'll be able to grab a Switch off the shelf if I so desire.

Isn't the Wii U version the old e3 build? Kinda seems like a useless comparison to me.

Well they are not!

Yeah, I'll be getting it on Wii-U. I'm taking a wait and see approach with the Switch, although I do like a lot of what I've seen so far.

It comes down to price vs performance. I won't be able to afford a Switch for a while so I'm sticking to the WiiU version for now. I only hope they have been optimizing the WiiU version and haven't abandoned it since porting it to the Switch.

Getting Wii U version since it's just pointless getting a Switch so early doors with the lacking launch library and I already have the Wii U.
