Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

Spent yesterday blasting through legendary quests and the last one devolves into spamming potions and throwing the star royal arm over and over lol

The daggers are crazy though, so managed to take down adamantoise in about 20mins.

On the rubber band survival skill for my last trophy.

Ive somehow poured 60 hours into this game and there is still pictos and another 3 hunter ranks and all the extra dungeons.

I find it bizarre they didnt have getting all the royal arms as part of the main story, i mean the sword of the tall dungeon and boss were totally unique.
There is also toooonnness of hunt monters that you would never see in the game as well normally.

Flying the regalia type f is one of the most frustrating things ever.

I want to do the Pitios challenge. But I just can't seem to land this thing the right way.

Who thought this was a good idea? Terrible...

I only have one game over in my 70 hours of playing, and it's from crashing the damn Type F.

The thing looks sleek as hell with the metallic silver paint though.

Pitios is pretty fun.

Not FFXV being more Tomb Raider than the last two TR games...

They should experiment more with these ideas in the DLC's

Question:

Is anything really explained about the meteor?

I thought it was kinda random up until the end game.
I had a theory about Ifrit using Hellfire at the planet or something.

A mate said it might have been where Starscourge originated.

Wow, listening to the soundtrack right now and it deserves to be in a much better game. "Departure" is beautiful.

Edit: the jazzy folksy outpost songs need to die though. Hate them so much. And Altissia's music is awful.

Edit edit: Damn, Hammerhead theme giving me some intense Crisis Core flashbacks. Is it the same composer?

I just beat FFXV a few days ago and I've been trying to get more info on what happened to Noctis between chapter 13 and 14. I just got verified by Neogaf and I'm not sure if this is the best thread to ask but does anyone know what happened?

Was the time skip instantaneous for him or has he been on the island for 10 years?
Why is he on that island?
How did he get to the island?
Did he drive the boat there or was the boat already there?
The Island is called Angelgard - Stone Prison. Does the fact that it's a prison mean anything? Any intel on that?

Poor writing and lack of time and money explain things like why we don't see Cindy, Cid, Cor or Iris OR why, after 10 years, you meet your best friends and all they say is," 'Sup? Ready to fight the final boss?".

Just wondering if anyone knows what's up with Noctis and Angelgard.

The Fal'cie Banbhunietro trained Noctis for 10 years and gave him his final focus. Angelguard is Banbhunietro's home

Just kidding. I'm not sure Tabata even knows tbh

Hmm I thought I read soneone else did the outpost themes.

No idea.

His ring was charging enough light to fight the Starscourge. Ten years of sitting around with his thumb up his ass.
Because that's where he was spat out from the crystal.....for ....reasons.
---
The boat was already waiting because....reasons...
Maybe the others knew that's where the prophecy would return him so they left the boat.

I kinda like the story but only after looking into it.
It's really poorly told and extremely confusing. Kinda reminded me of FF8 in that respect.

The King's Raiment looks so goofy on young Noctis lol. Also got Diamond Dust in the world for the first time and laughed about how Noctis is just freezing to death the whole time

A lot of the songs (including Hammerhead) are by Tetsuya Shibata, who did a lot of work with Capcom.

With a few weeks of distance between me and my finishing of Final Fantasy XV, I feel like I can contextualize the experience a bit more now. And while overall I loved the experience, something I was thinking about today is that I wish it had been two separate games.

I love the idea of a game based on a road trip: a group of friends piling in a car, miles on the highway, a long, linear journey, rest stops, aching backs, adventures along the way, and at the end of it a grand destination. I also love the idea of an open world game with a huge map to explore, lots of sidequests to complete, and revisiting areas you've been to before where new things have opened up.

But I think having both elements in one game diminished them both in FFXV. While there were definitely sporadic moments when the game captured that feeling of being on a road trip, especially in the first two chapters, a lot of that was lost in the act of driving around the map in circles and revisiting the same areas multiple times. And during chapters 3-5, I wasn't even entirely certain what my ultimate goal was. I had no sense of a Grand Destination, which was crucial to me in experiencing that road trip vibe.

I loved the questing in that part of the game, and I loved the parts of FFXV that felt like a long journey, but I thought they were a bit at odds with one another. I wish S-E had done a road trip game that was more linear, and a game with all the exploration and sidequesting that wasn't trying to sell itself as a linear journey.

I don't know if it's true canon/what's stated in the japanese version, but in the German translation, Ardyn mentions that the plague/parasites derived from the meteor.
He doesn't say that in the English translation.

Oh. Duh. I just got that.

The final mission's recommended level is 44 because Noct (and Ardyn, I guess) die.
Or maybe I'm just reading too much into it and they chose an awkward number, for some reason.

So I just ended this game. Jesus christ. I need emotional support. I am too weak for stuff like this. I didn't even like the game that much and found the story rushed, incomplete and somewhat exasperating. But the ending. Oh man... I need hugs and stuff...

It left me wrecked too :'( I liked it very much as a powerful, bittersweet ending but I literally sobbed during the credits campfire scene. Then the throne scene with the swell of the main theme music got me weeping again. And THEN when the logo changed, they turned to happy tears and a big smile.

The ending stuck in my head for two days and I kept thinking over how tragic Noct's story is. I think it's testament to how well Noct is animated and voiced that the performance can bring this sort of reaction out of people who didn't particularly enjoy the overall story. Heavy stuff indeed.

On that note, I'm so glad the post-game content is plentiful and happy and there's that nice new logo! If it weren't for that and the throne scene I'd have been devastated.

So, I just finished the game.

Apart from the fact they seem to lose their way in the gameplay at Chapter 13 and there's definitely some story content that has gone missing, I definitely think that there's a fantastic story told in the game. An engaging one at the very least, but the sort of story that may doesn't lend its self to the "open world" format, if that makes sense?

Welp...two hours into being lost in Costlemark Tower (with somewhere around 92,000 XP), my game stalled in the middle of a battle.

(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

This is the third time I've ran into a bug like this. I'm trading this trash in tomorrow.

Yesterday I beat the game and, to be honest, I have enjoyed the story and I think Ardyn is one of the better villains in the franchise (although to be fair, you have to watch him in Kingsglaive and also read about his backstory to get the full picture).

I'm just dissapointed we don't really get to mess around in the world of ruin, though, and that the ending lacks a bit of emotional punch. Sure, Noctis dies, but you find about it like 30 minutes before you get there, and it doesn't feel as emotional as (Final Fantasy X spoiler)
finding out that Tidus saves Yuna, only to die himself after all he's gone through
. The camp-fire scene, in that regard, is far more powerful than his last battle in the ethereal world against Ardyn or the final throne scene with Luna.

Like actually freezing or the camera being stuck? My camera got stuck at the last puzzle (where you just press X/A and the cube moves, 2 moves away from boss) and then I had camera issues outside Costlemark after that until I restarted the game.

To get unstuck camera, you just use an item so one of your bros does an animation and it clears it up.

I chose a full breasted shot of Cindy for my final image. The ending scene in which King Noctis lifted it off the throne, stared at it lovingly, and then handed it to Luna was the best part of the entire game for me. Now I want to go back and record the same scene with as many other inappropriate photos as I can dig up.

Edit: Shit, I just realized I'm a 34 year old who is actually 13.

Don't know if anything cracks me up more than a Cup Noodle in that scene...
