I really hope Pokken doesn't make it in. I tried watching a bit of it last year and it was perhaps the most boring game I've ever seen played competitively.
Missing Virtua FighterI fixed the Player's Choice list
I wonder what would've happen if Brawl was in the list lol.
Anyways, I playing Pokken, but not watching it. So I'm going to hope for ARMS, KI or Marvel. I think I should give a tiny donation to all three, it's for a good cause after all.
It wasn't a comparison. I'm just noting they've had games that haven't been released to the masses on consoles before.I don't see the comparison with Tekken 7. The game was playable (even if hardly available to the west) since March 2015
They're all jumping ship to Injustice 2.What happen to MKX scene does no one really care?
I honestly have no idea. The community seemed pretty dead post-EVO, & now this.Seriously, $6k??! For Pokken??!! What the heck is going on!
no need 2b upset, it's for charitySeriously, $6k??! For Pokken??!! What the heck is going on!
It's for a good cause which is good but if a game wins and has barely any entrants than what's the point of that game being featured?no need 2b upset, it's for charity
If we're going that old can clash of ninja be on the list?I fixed the Player's Choice list

Some of the Smash community is backing the game up, as shown by SmashBoard's Twitter account.Okay. Now I think Pokken might win. Either Pokémon fans are loaded or it's the combination of Nintendo fans/Pokémon fans/Pokken community that's driving the game to Evo.
You forgot Mortal Kombat ArmageddonI fixed the Player's Choice list

Fear keeps us on our toes, my friend.Reminder that this is still day 1. No need to panic just yet.
Dem Wailords coming through though
Yeah it had Chris G finally winning Evo after people stopped caring about it 2 years beforehandWas EVO 2016 a proper goodbye for MvC3?
I don't remember it at all.
To be fair, the Pokémon community kinda has to make bank between the almost-yearly releases, PokéBank subscription, & the dozens of systems they buy (with one more $300 console on the way). I'm actually kinda jealous that I don't make that much bank (I skipped out on Sun/Moon when Stars was leaked so I could save money).I'm eating major crow with Pokken right now lmao, what is even happening!? I guess I shouldn't be surprised that there's some very kind, generous souls in the Pokémon community that are making bank but goddamn.
3S is awful and wouldn't pull a tenth of the people entering meleeI've played all Smash Bros, still doesn't change the fact that it is 16 years old and other games have been booted once a sequel came out. It's over stayed it's welcome. NOBODY would say that it is superior to a game like 3rd strike and 3rd strike isn't there.

Once again, after Brawl dropped (which is considered the worst in the franchise by a good number of competitive Smashers), it split the Smash community in two. Now we have two almost-completely different games with two communities that have very little overlap.I've played all Smash Bros, still doesn't change the fact that it is 16 years old and other games have been booted once a sequel came out. It's over stayed it's welcome. NOBODY would say that it is superior to a game like 3rd strike and 3rd strike isn't there.
just curious is it a third party handling all the money and taking for-profit handling fees? or does it 100% 100% go to the charity.
It's because very few of the major TOs out there run Pokken. You don't see it if it's not run at the events you watch.

If anything, Reggie would be donating to ARMS. The Pokémon Company handled most of Pokkén Tournament's competitive presence (they typically do their own thing, for better or worse, with some input from Nintendo).Somebody needs to stop Reggie from making hundreds of small anonymous donations to Pokken

Bring it back so Braixen can win again? Don't mind if I do!

I imagine the logistics of needing two Wii Us and TVs for each unit is the a big part of it. That's a lot of extra equipment that takes up space since you can't do two player locally via split screen. I one person has to play on the gamepad.Any particular reason for this? Is it just the logistics of needing two Wii Us for every match, or do the TOs see the game as dead and it leads to a self-fulfilling prophecy?
Because it's been dead on Twitch for the longest time, I know that much.
