EVO 2017 Player's Choice Game - [Ended] UMVC3 wins #SometimesEvilWins

I would not mind if Pokken win tbh

I actually enjoy to see the game quite a lot and last year was pretty entertaining eveb with all the problems they had.

I have a weird feeling that a surge of ARMS donations will come throughout the next few weeks. Pokkén actually keeping up with UMvC3 is rather surprising (though going off of the number of doners, Pokémon fans have deep pockets, which I hope will benefit them if Pokémon Stars ends up Switch-only), as much as KI falling off a little this soon.

But seriously, don't give up, Mahvel fans. We need this win.

I hope Pokken wins. Will be putting my money in soon for it. I really like the game and if we can't get Tekken 7 on the Switch then I hope this gets ported with the newer content. I need to make more time to play the Wii U game. I enjoy watching as well. So it's really nice to see it so high at the moment.

If it came down to KI or UMvC3 then my money would go toward KI. Haven't played it since it was on the SNES and N64 but I still enjoy watching the newer version when people stream it and would pick it up if I ever get a Xbox One. I can not at all follow what is taking place on screen with MvC. There is so much crap on screen that it's sensory overload and the commentators are never helpful in explaining what the hell is actually taking place. I've tried to follow along the last several Evo and it has never changed. So no I do not what that to see that game ever again. Maybe Infinite will be different with there just being two characters per player but I'm not holding out much hope.

Would like to see ARMS but will gladly take Pokken or KI. Just no UMvC3.

I wish the donation drive either lasted a LOT longer or was done later. Arms doesn't have a chance when 99% of potential supporters haven't had a chance to try it out. I get why it has to be now and can't last too long, but still.

I'd feel better about supporting Pokken if it was getting the new characters, because Scizor is objectively the best Pokemon.

holy shit Pokken is winning

pokemon fanbase has some deep pockets
Yup, the fact that they're supporting their game despite The Pokémon Company & Bandai Namco jumping ship (on the Wii U, at least) should be commended. I'm actually starting to get worried for UMvC3.

But seriously, Pokémon fans, save your money for the Switch. You'll thank me later in a few months.

Relax, it's day 1 lol
Nothing is decided yet. Heck, Mortal Kombat could still win this (okay maybe not lol)

Sounds like a game that doesn't really have a good reason to be at EVO. At least with other games that were announced for EVO before they were released, you could have confidence there will even be a community for them due to the developer or franchise recognition. Money talks, though.

I'm starting to agree with that. Even with Injustice 1 being a new IP at Evo you had the guarantee of the NRS community rallying behind it. No idea how many Nintendo fans will come out yet. I'd love to see it there just because it's so radically different from everything else on offer, but I can totally see why so many are hesitant about it.

At the very least it should have a sick side-tourney with the top 8 streamed on a side stream. I'll be happy if I get that much.

Arms is still going to be at Evo, right? I thought I heard that somewhere. It's not go8ng to win this, but I'd definitely like to see more of it.

The other factors for ARMS's uncertainty are...
  • We don't know the control set-up for non-motion controls.
  • We don't know how well the Switch is gonna sell.
  • The Pro Controller is pretty damn expensive (not that much more compared to a new DualShock 4, but still pretty pricey).
I do think ARMS will be a great game, the question is if it'll be a viable competitive game.

Not ONE Snk game. Incredible. I would vote on a Real Bout 2 / Garou / Samurai Shodow.
At least theres ST there...

KoF has a guaranteed spot already, which is enough of a rarity at EVO - Windjammers will have to count as the honorary SNK entry among the votable options, even if it's from Data East.

Too late for that, the Wii U is dead. Your best bet is an enhanced port on the Switch.

The game is only a year old.

Stop thinking in terms of the console. This narrative of yours is incredibly obnoxious.

You know what, fuck arms, lets go

POKKEN FOR EVO #Neverforget

I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo somehow had a setup there to show off the game even if it doesn't make it.

Pokémon fans pockets will be deep enough for both haha

It winning would be funny, thought the game had really fallen off lol

Yeah, it's one year old, and it's a shame that Pokkén is trapped on a dead system & was released on the tail-end of the system's life. It also doesn't help that it's not an established fighting game franchise like Smash is. It's part of the reason why Splatoon didn't catch on competitively worldwide, the Wii U is holding it back.

Either way, Pokkén needs a Switch port.

I was indirectly referring to the Eurogamer leak of the Switch-exclusive Pokémon Stars, more so given the Switch's current price tag.

Max will stream KI and channel all his donations into the donation drive.
