Speaking of Ronaldo...

Friday, Feb. 24: "Rocknaldo" at 7 p.m. (ET/PT) –
Ronaldo sets out to find all the rock people living in Beach City!

The Geekiary

There's also a screenshot from I assume would be The New Crystal Gems.

Also, what's up with Storm in the Room airing 15 minutes earlier than the other two?

Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive preview of the new Steven Universe comic series and an interview with the creatives is charge of it.

And according to this and this the second and third issues will be focused on Mayor Dewey/Buck and Stevonnie/Kiki going to a prom?

I'm thinking about how The New Crystal Gems is supposed to work. From that screenshot it looks like it takes place almost immediately during and after Steven tells her he's leaving for space in Adventures in Light Distortion. Is it going to be the first episode to completely forego the "from Steven's POV" rule?

They'll probably skirt around it by revealing at the end that Connie was describing it to him after he gets back and the episode was just him imagining what happened.

I LOVE the famethyst so much.
Skinny Jasper is bae/waifu material. lol
Btw Kimberly Brooks has such a broad range; back when I first watched That Will Be All, I thought Deedee was voicing Skinny. She was really channeling pearl with that performance.

Also, a lot of the shots in "What's The Use in Feeling Blue?" are really awesome, especially the one where Yellow is holding the pearls all nonchalantly.

Just saw the bomb, and omg, That Will Be All was so good. I love how the Amethysts are all just a bunch of jokesters, we finally got to see Yellow Diamond's musical number (and learn more about both Yellow and Blue Diamond as a result) and the entire ending part was just:

There's a video up on youtube that purports to show "leaked" images from the upcoming "Storm in the Room". No idea if legit, but I'm seeing some people make claims the images are faked. They're rather convincing fakes, though. Search at your own risk.

Usually they are not real but we will see.

They are also usually rife on that other site lol

Check out this very very very very rough first pass of a sequence from Gem Hunt! Weird!!

Colin Howard

Very early on it seemed like they had Connie battling Jasper directly.

EDIT: Colin's uploaded all kinds of early storyboard sketches on this twitter. Go check 'em out.

In an early pass of Mindul Education Connie absolutely WRECKED Jeff.

EDIT: Lamar's next
i had SO much fun working on the zoo episode of steven universe with katie. when we first got the episode we were talking a lot about how the zoo is supposed to be this kind of utopia. a good good friend of mine told me about a quote from...uh...someone...about how utopias usually have something/someone missing, or that you should look for what's not there in these settings. with that in mind i wanted to make the zoomans (zoo humans) as varied and diverse as possible. here are some initial sketches + a few board drawings.

Here are some drawings from "The Zoo". Ages ago, Rebecca pitched The Zoo to Lamar and I as this absolute utopian, hippie society full of beautiful and healthy people with no concept of pain or sadness. So we went to town drawing as many different kinds of hot people as possible! 70s sci-fi, hippie communes, The Time Machine (1960), The Footlight Parade (1933), and the Centaurette sequence from Fantasia were all influences for this episode.

It was interesting and fun to depict humans who had somehow been appeased enough to coincide with the gem idea of perfect order and routine. I loved writing their eerie, almost understandable optimism, that ultimately gets destroyed in the hilarious ending scene by Lamar. Overall a really fun episode to work on, J10 and Y6 are easily some of my favorite characters in the show <3

Everybody needs to stop what they're doing and listen to that HQ version of "What's the Use of Feeling (Blue)?" on SoundCloud. https://soundcloud.com/aivisura/steven-universe-whats-the-use-of-feeling-blue

Holy shit, the audio quality sounds incredible. You can hear the Pearls more clearly and distinctly, there's instruments that you never knew were in the song, and it fixes some of the weird audio issues with LuPone's vocals (especially the jarring last "YES of course we still..."). It makes it very apparent that the TV version was either not the final version or suffered somehow due to compression or some other technical aspect.

I'm actually kind of mad that most people will never hear this version. It's like watching a native 1080p video in 1080p after first watching it in 480p or 720p.

So the zoomen were supposed to be very sexy folks.
Great! haha
It's so nice to finally get all the concept art n' stuff for this arc.

Also I'm glad they didn't have Connie attempt to fight Jasper or confidently land some sort of humiliating blow on her.
It wouldn't have made much sense considering Connie is a fragile human child, and still a beginner fighter.
It also would have made Jasper look a lot less intimidating and competent.
Plus, it doesn't fit with the theme of "love/family/harmony vs hate/conservatism/dissonance" that's been a huge part of Jasper's run ins with the CGs.

Ooo, that soundcloud upload; it's always awesome to here the full structure of the song.
I really love how militaristic, strange/alien, and sorrowful "What's the Use of Feeling (Blue)?" sounds.
Also those harmonizing pearls are amazing.

It would be cool to see a standalone episode with Peridot and Lapis
protecting the earth while the other Gems are off world.

I really love Blue Diamond's design. It would have been so easy to just make her look "cool", but instead they went for something more cartoonishly exaggerated and emotional.

We finally have a synopsis from TV Guide for the elusive Tiger Philanthropist currently scheduled for March 3:
Steven tries pro wrestling.

That synopsis is so plain, vague, and offers no other details. They might be pulling a Catch and Release on us. That episode simply had the synopsis of "We finally see inside Steven's bathroom." Of course, it ended up being the episode that revealed Peridot's true form and started her redemption.

I could see that vagueness hiding a deeper plot, but how could another wrestling plot be lore heavy after learning Amethyst wrestles as a way to let out aggression?
Jasper bonding with Amethyst over a shared past-time, that's what.

For that to happen,
Jasper would need to be unpoofed, completely healed, and at least non-hostile to the Crystal Gems
over the course of just three episodes (The New Crystal Gems, Storm in the Room, Rocknaldo). It's possible that the latter two episodes might involve serious plot developments
even on the Jasper front, but there's no way they would resolve 3/4 of the issues with Jasper
in just two-three episodes time. I'd imagine that we'll get an arc of
an unpoofed, but still corrupted Jasper hanging around with the Crystal Gems first before we can really talk about redemption.

My best guess is that Tiger Philanthropist involves Smoky Quartz somehow, but it is still somehow tied to a larger plot.

I really love Blue Diamond's design. It would have been so easy to just make her look "cool", but instead they went for something more cartoonishly exaggerated and emotional.

The show team consistently blows me away with this philosophy. Rarely does anything aim for "cool", and instead the result is always unexpected, refreshing, and memorable.

Interesting to see another kid(?) there. I don't think I noticed one in the episode, but none of the zoo people were shocked by Steven so they must be used to seeing kids.

One thing a lot of people picked up on is that they deliberately left Steven out of the Choosening, so it's pretty likely they're familiar with kids.

The show team consistently blows me away with this philosophy. Rarely does anything aim for "cool", and instead the result is always unexpected, refreshing, and memorable.

Most of the time the cool stuff just comes about from context and presentation anyway - like how Smoky's yo-yo is one of the most OP Gem weapons we've seen to date. Know Your Fusion put her strength at roughly the same level as Garnet, but compare the two fights - Garnet was basically breaking even with Jasper (if not slightly losing) but was able to get the upper hand by tossing her into the reactor, and even after surviving the fight, being thrown into that, and then the ship exploding, Jasper was still trying to keep fighting with no (mental) signs of slowing down. On the flipside, Smoky's second hit with the yo-yo got Jasper in the face, and despite having her helmet on and having tanked pretty much every hit from Amethyst, the very first thing Jasper did was instinctively check to see if her gem had been damaged.

Anyone who's into pops might like these. I need the Peridot one.

TCwTS2f.jpg

The first wave were so hard to find (STILL don't have Garnet or Steven), so I'll be hunting these down asap.

I'm just glad we're finally getting non-main-four figures that are taller than, like, two inches. I'm not the biggest Funko Pop fan (says the guy who owns 10+ of them), but they're decent enough for display purposes, especially for properties that don't have other figures/merch. I'm a teacher and my high school students seem to dig the BMO, Lebron James, Dwayne Wade Funko Pops on my desk

Some of the SU minis were nice, but blind bags are a dangerous game. I got lucky with the bigger ones by getting Pearl and Lapis with water wings. But then I got two Garnets in a row in another blind bag series.

Leak spoilers:
It's not just that Connie is wearing Steven's shirt. Peridot is wearing sunglasses to be like Garnet and Lapis messed up her hair to be Amethyst. I guess the pumpkin dog can be Pearl?

This episode looks amazing and hilarious. The
facial expressions and Peridot trying to flush herself down the toilet again
from the leaks are already cracking me up.

Lol. Love this. Favorite episode of Futurama

I'm excited for these new episodes but one of these images might become meme fodder.

I keep wondering
what those pillars are in that screenshot of not-Amethyst and not-Garnet. Looks to be an entirely new location.

At first I thought there were made of water and Lapis was using her powers. But they're too smooth and opaque to be water. These are my favorite kinds of leaks: the ones that give you just enough to know what the episode will be about without giving away too much. We're still not 100% if Connie, Lapis, and Peridot will just be dicking around this episode or actually fighting a threat.
