They renewed The OA, The Travelers has been renewed by them and Showcase, announced the Castlevania show you mentioned, and Love was renewed for season 3. There may have been more I missed, but that's all I've noticed so far!

This had been a good day. I really like Travelers and The OA, the latter is flawed but i'm really curious what are they gonna do in the second season.

since ive been rewatching B99 (actually just finished S3, which I liked more this time around, Pimento grew on me), ive noticed how diverse the cast is, im surprised the show doesnt get more credit for that (or does it?)

2 black men, both in leadership roles (Holt and Terry), one of them gay. 3 female characters (Rosa, Amy and Gina), 2 of them latina, all strong women in their own way. In fact, the 4 white dudes are, for the most part, buffoons. Hitchcock and Scully are of course useless, but Boyle is a nerd, and Peralta, even tho hes the main character and a white guy (although I would argue that Peralta and Holt are co-mains), is at the end of the day a loveable idiot at best. Im not sure if Pimento is back in S4 but he's a psycho so not exactly a role model for white dudes either lol.

Hm, what's with these asynchronous air dates? Anyway, it's a pretty good show despite some flaws. Also, I lol'd when one of the characters took out some 'monopoly' money. I'll never get used to seeing Canadian bills on tv.

First "details" on what the rebranding means per Deadline:
As part of the plan, Bakish wants to “bring the best of Paramount to the network business, and the best of the network business to Paramount.” That means the studio’s film slate “will now include co-branded releases from each of the flagships” in addition to its own franchises, tentpoles, and other projects.

Paramount and Nickelodeon will kick off the effort with four films led by Amusement Park: It will premiere in theaters next summer with a TV series to come in 2019.

Also, as expected, Spike is to be rebranded as The Paramount Network early next year and will become “Viacom’s premier general entertainment brand.” It will offer the “very best in Viacom original scripted and non-scripted programming, and incorporate even more high-quality original and third party programming.”

The entertainment company will “invest in new content experiences” including a short-form content unit, live “experiences,” and consumer products.

In addition, Bakish will look for “deeper, more client-centric” partnerships with distribution and advertising partners.

ABC comedies spring to life with new episodes. Blindspot's still fractional. CW shows no change. Everything on CBS is down versus last week. Star held the same ratings as last week.

I have a feeling that we may see Blindspot on NBC in some fashion next season. Between the Hulu output deal and the Berlanti factor I think it's entirely possible.

The most interesting result for people here would seem to be that Paramount will be the home of "premium" TV in their channel group. This most likely means the end of MTV's scripted shows as they go back to reality shows. Hopefully something like Sweet/Vicious simply moves channels, but who knows.
 
‘Channel Zero’ Renewed For Seasons 3 & 4 By Syfy
Ahead of the Season 2 premiere, Syfy has ordered a third and fourth installment of Nick Antosca’s well received horror anthology series Channel Zero. In addition, Antosca has signed an overall deal with Channel Zero producer Universal Cable Productions. Under that pact, Antosca will develop and produce scripted programming with UCP for the NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment portfolio and for external networks and streaming services. Antosca also will return as executive producer, showrunner and writer for the two newly ordered installments of Channel Zero alongside executive producer Max Landis (Chronicle).

Syfy sure like Channel Zero, I think they ordered two seasons of it at first and now it has gotten another two.

God now I had to read it and it sounds like the most out of touch thing ever. It really does sound like a 40-year-old man's take on what the mental health issues of a high school girl are. And I hate to bring that up because I think a good writer shouldn't be constrained by their personal background. But holy hell it just seems like it's written by someone who has no experience dealing with teenage girls. Just what an awful representation of teenage suicide.
 
Never heard of Channel Zero, just watched some youtube clips and holy shit?
 
I haven't read the wiki for Thirteen Reasons Why, but I will watch if someone can confirm for me that the ending is that the boy kills himself to join the girl in heaven.
 
NBC in Talks to Revive ‘American Idol’

According to sources with knowledge of the discussions, NBC has been pitched a revival of the long-running singing competition by producer Fremantle and is now mulling options for how to integrate the show into its programming slate. One possibility being considered: cutting NBC’s existing singing competition “The Voice” from two cycles a year to one.

Sources emphasize that talks are ongoing, and no deal is yet in place.

I did, but only because I kept thinking that it couldn't get any worse... I was wrong. Holy shit, who thought it was a good idea to make this into something?

Basically a girl commits suicide and leaves behind thirteen tapes that are to be given to the people who drove her to suicide. Here are just a couple of the non-super gross parts:

The third person to receive the tapes was Jessica, with whom Hannah was once friends. After being compared to Hannah on the "hot or not" list published by Alex, Jessica slapped Hannah and effectively ended their friendship. The slap left a scar on Hannah's forehead, which acts as a physical manifestation of the pain she feels inside.

The fourth person to receive the tapes was Tyler, a classmate who worked as a photographer for the yearbook. After suspecting that Tyler was taking pictures of her through her bedroom window, Hannah enlisted their classmate Courtney to help her catch Tyler in the act. The two girls hung out in Hannah's bedroom one night and, at Courtney's insistence, gave each other sensual massages in order to excite Tyler. They then snapped open the curtains to see Tyler running away from the window. Hannah blames Tyler for making her feel unsafe in her own bedroom.

The seventh person to receive the tapes was Zach, who tried to comfort Hannah after Marcus stormed out of the diner (though Hannah later realizes Zach was only acting on a dare). Later, in their Peer Communications class, each student is given a pouch in which their classmates can leave anonymous compliments. To spite Hannah for rejecting him at the diner, Zach steals all of the compliments Hannah has received before she can read them. When Hannah catches him, Zach flees without apologizing. This leads Hannah to leave their Peer Communications teacher an anonymous note confessing her suicidal thoughts. The teacher asks the class to discuss the note, and most of the students respond with annoyance.

Blindspot upped from a 0.9 to a 1.0 in the demo in final ratings.

Despite the fact I stopped watching it half way though season 1 I'm oddly interested in the fate of this show.
