He's banned from twitter too?
Can't they ban him from the internet?
Just to be clear, that was a joke. It wasn't funny at all but it was a joke and it's time that we all learn to laugh.
Am I doing it right?
No he's not

I'd be willing to bet paper money that people defending this as jokes or satire wouldn't go to bat for someone taking similar actions with white dudes as the butt of the joke

That's pretty baseless, but please, keep telling me what I would and would not defend when it comes to comedy.I'd be willing to bet paper money that people defending this as jokes or satire wouldn't go to bat for someone taking similar actions with white dudes as the butt of the joke
Holding different views and antisemitic hate speech are very diffrent things. It amazes me how surprised people are when they discover that not every YouTuber they like has the exact same political views as them.

The whole "he's your freind why are you calling him out" argument is just plain idiotic. If someone says somthing ignorant or does somthing stupid you should call them out ignoring it is childish.

This is not a political view.It amazes me how surprised people are when they discover that not every YouTuber they like has the exact same political views as them.
Wheather he hates jews or not is irrelevant he payed 2 guys to make an antisemitic poster and then posted it online.I don't think PewDiePie hates Jewish people.
I was wrong. Can you make sure this is right? I tried to find it on twitter search and had no luck.
Ah, nope. He didn't side with Jon. Ethan is in good terms with Austin (PBGamer) and Jon's friendship with Austin was veeery well known. Everyone, including Ethan, was surprised that they now were not on speaking terms anymore.

You don't call someone out by trying to vilify them, while not even @ them or anything, so that they can easily defend themselves. It probably looked way worse for Austin in the view of his fanbase, than anything Jon's said did in his, considering there's a big overlap of people who love both of them in their fanbases.
Look way worse for him? Have you seen what JonTron was tweeting? You don't call someone out by trying to vilify them, while not even @ them or anything, so that they can easily defend themselves. Which crowd? Someone earlier said he's pandering to his audience of alt righters...!!! His audience is almost entirely adolescents and tweens who don't know what any of this is. At most he's irresponsible for influencing young minds that are not (yet) racists.

Yes. Just because there are assholes who actually believe the stuff you're making a joke of doesn't negate the fact that you are, at the end of the day, joking.
That's ridiculous. Context and intent matter far more in language than actual words do.Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't. It doesn't really matter what his intent was when his actions speak for themselves.
what a fucking idiot.
This is why Trump won.
Hes not a neo-nazi but he is still complicit in spreading hate speech to a large audience of mostly children. It's very relevant. He's not a neo-Nazi, he just did something really fucking stupid.
Him pulling this crap is normalizing it as a suitable form of humour. It's not. It's hate.
It amazes me how surprised people are when they discover that not every YouTuber they like has the exact same political views as them.
Don't be racist
This is why Trump won.
That's pretty baseless, but please, keep telling me what I would and would not defend when it comes to comedy.
Are people really doing that?
Look way worse for him? Have you seen what JonTron was tweeting?
Well, partially yes. But, Trump won because of a variety of factors, some of the most salient having to do with the Democratic party (and the DNC) itself.
It's very relevant. He's not a neo-Nazi, he just did something really fucking stupid.

Culpability, culpability, culpability. He's an internet person, he reads his comments, he knows damn well the alt-right movement going on and what they want to hear. It's no coincidence he's also pulling the "look at the lying media attacking me!" from their playbook. I can guarantee you a person can make it as a comedian or youtuber without having to use anti-semtic phrases as punchlines. I guarantee you he could have used a thousand different phrases in that fiverr skit that could have gotten shock value without using the holocaust as a punchline making neo nazis and alt righters laugh. No, he chose "Death to all jews". Fucking hilarious right? Theres a Jewish center like 4 blocks down from me, maybe I should take his video down there and see if they get a good laugh out of it, right?
Is Markiplier the only big youtuber who isn't a piece of shit? Oh and the Grumps.
What does that make him?Nine times.
9 times is a hell of a lot of warnings especially from a company like Disney.I mean, he did this 9 times. It's not like he was trying to make a The Producers style joke once and got slammed for it.
To be fair, this is how a lot of comedians work out their material. They go up on stage with a loose outline of subjects and ramble about them until something sticks, then they develop it. That's how a lot of bits you end up seeing on specials get fine tuned.
The thing is, those dudes are smart enough to not release everything they say on the internet and a bunch of bad jokes get thrown on the cutting room floor. PewDiePie is just too dumb to know what belongs on the cutting room floor and what doesn't because his audience is mainly a bunch of kids and teens who don't know what a good joke is either.
A joke misfiring doesn't make a Nazi. However, being an asshole to strangers while also slapping on crude Nazi jokes does at least make one not all that sympathetic to Jewish people either. You're absolutely right. But a joke misfire in bad taste doesn't a Nazi make. If that was the case every standup comedian in existence would be a scumbag of one kind or another. At any rate, I have no idea if this dude is actually talented/funny, or if this was just him trying to stretch too far outside his wheelhouse. But it does sound like pretty obvious *satire* to me. Even if it wasn't done well, I think all the knee-jerk reactions likening him to Hitler are pretty ridiculous when it seems fairly obvious that his intent was to *make fun of the hypocrisy of such people*. Who knows, maybe the guy will come out as an unhinged alt-right maniac. Lol But I kinda doubt it.
i feel like almost every youtube or internet celebrity is inherently going to be an alt righter.
the kids love it. pepe and all that shit.
9 times is a hell of a lot of warnings especially from a company like Disney.
Boogie is defending PdP too, and complaining that disney made fun of nazis....
and he deleted it
picture was donald being a dork trying to imitate hitler.
I don't think hes actually advocating that thats why Trump won, more so making fun of people who would make that argument.
Im sure Disney gave him at least a couple warnings about his antisemitic actions. He did not get warned 9 times by Disney though? Just this once and it was not a warn but cutting ties entirely
Nine times.
He is? Has he made any statement about this? I'm pretty sure he didn't.
I do think that he was a little to fixated on nazi imagery recently, but you could tell it was all ironic and not in a worshipping kind of way. I'm not excusing it, I'm just saying that he finally crossed the line he has been treading for a while now
