We already 100% knew that Obama had the full evidence from the IC investigations going around at the time. His hands were tied with politics. It looked like Hillary had it and had he jumped in and it exploded in his phase losing her a 'winning' election, that would be a horrendous situation.
 
Meanwhile conservatives who totally aren't nazis on twitter keep making "haha the russians did it is such a meme" posts on twitter. Even my own dad, who's more than smart enough to see the clear ties to russia and suspicious bullshit from trump. They know, they just don't care.

Will having it exposed change their tune? If it does, it'll only be because they're scared, not outraged.

We know why Obama didn't talk. He didn't want to do something that would be seen as delegitimizing the election process, especially when it looked a lot like Hilary would win

If they really exist, they are deep in Russian hands... They are leverage for Russia, so I don't see them playing their trump card just yet. I imagine the only way they'll leak before that is if somebody manages to make copies or smuggle them out. I'm sure there are a million journalists that want them.

it might have enough popular support if enough of the country is opposed to someone who nobody voted for serving almost an entire term, but the process is messed up and requires already elected representatives to push it through

He didn't say shit because it would look bad in his part, and he probably knew this was going to come out relatively quickly into Trump's presidency. Trump made a lot of enemies with his bullshit condemning intelligence agencies.

This was a coordinated effort. CNN had someone from NYT ready to speak immediately.
 
I am honestly a little nervous about backing this administration into a corner... they seem very volatile.

Very glad this is all coming out of course.

It's not just the scenario where Hilary lost a winning election, it was also that if he did that and she won, he'd probably get a lot of heat and accusations that he was rigging the elections. And given a big problem that existed with the lack of faith in our political system that led to the events of this election, that could have been catastrophic

Reminds me of how LBJ knew Nixon tampered with the Vietnam peace agreement and didn't say anything because he wanted to protect the sanctity of the election.
