Cemu Thread: Emulating Wii U Games

Anyone got any FAST Racing Neo shots?

Cemu doesn't have the ability to force framerate higher than the game's limit right now and we shouldn't expect that anytime soon in the next few years.

I mean it took Dolphin how many years to be able to force 60 fps?

It doesn't. At best, you're overclocking games that performed poorly originally to hit their natural 60fps/30fps cap.

To put it into perspective, there's still no way to play Twilight Princess/Wind Waker at 60fps.

Good things always come to those who wait.

There's already a Youtube video of the game reaching the main menu and even the save game loading screen. So it's able to boot before it's been released

There is an ocean of difference from being able to get to the title screen and being able to play the game in terms of emulation.

There are some games that are already unlocked and overclocking the emulated cpu gets you 60 fps. The rest require codes that remove the frame cap, and then usually many many more codes to fix all the resulting issues caused by running twice as fast as normal. It's not impossible we'll have any of the Zelda games running correctly at 60 fps, but it will take someone a lot of trial and error to get there.

Let's not derail the thread, it's a dumb post but we"re kinda used to it in every emulation thread.

Thanks Seik and JediYoshi for your feedback on TTT² btw !

I really hope Nintendo shuts them down. So excited for the complaints from the coming always online Zelda

No, Nintendo will never shut them down. Nintendo did never shut down a single emulator.

Here is some real-talk to get you sleep better, tho, if you care about Nintendo stocks so much:

- NES Classic is hacked, broken and open wide for emulation of all sorts of games (NES, SNES, PSX) <-- Nintendo lost
- Zelda: BotW will be playable in CEMU in higher res, smoother framerate and additional graphical effects not found and not possible on your new $299 Switch console. It already boots to main menu - *before* official release. <-- Nintendo lost

Dumb posts like yours require swift and harmful answers.

Or the regular consumers lost, because Nintendo have now decided to stopped delivering more HW units of the NES Classic?

Ok.

Ok.

The first one was already been proven false. The second is unlikely to hold true for long. Try again.

Pretty minor stuff compared to being able to preserve games forever and run them at much higher fidelity than they could originally be originally.

Don't blame Nintendo's fucking shitty decisions on emulation.

And go away. If you don't like emulation, stay away from the thread and don't shitpost it up. It's fucking annoying to have corporate apologists coming with this dumb talk in every emulation thread.

Thought I already subscribed to this thread. Glad I fixed that.

I'll probably install homebrew to dump my games once BOTW is playable through Cemu, which will probably be months or years from now anyway. That'll leave me enough time to get other games I've missed out on.

Lol. You're telling me if I have the choice between 4k Zelda at stable 30fps (maybe more ?) and a web browser on a Nintendo console... as a Zelda fan, I choose the former.

OK, I try again with the first one:

"Uppdatering 27/2: Vår leverantör har meddelat att Nintendo valt att sluta leverera NES Classic. I dagsläget är det oklart hur många exemplar vi kommer få levererade. Om du lagt en förbeställning kommer vi kontakta dig inom kort."

I actually love emulation, and use it a lot.

I want to have both.

Honestly I'd you want to help with the development get as much information from the game about what it's doing before it hangs while it's logging, and send it to ex.

He's at least going to be able to use that information.

Just disregard the troll he's baiting for attention.

How does what he said have anything to do with this? The Wii was hacked wide open very early on, and that didn't change anything in regards to availability.

Or the regular consumers lost, because of Nintendo's refusal to put web browsers in their future consoles?
You can't be serious.

I'm sure Exzap has already seen memory dumps and logs from BOTW and already has ideas as to what is broken.

We can see the game is running, because the little picture of the save game location is flashing. It's just hung there. It could be something with the Gamepad. It could be the game is trying to load from the non-existent mandatory install file. Who knows right now. Let's wait for the game to be released and then the Cemu team can actually start working on getting it to work.

Only a person with a Nintendo avatar would post this.
I didn't want to post it but you're pretty much spot on...

Case in point lol

I'll be able to play my copy on the Wii U when it arrives, but with so many other games I need to play through, I'm seriously considering waiting it out to see what kind of shape it's in on Cemu in a few weeks. I don't know if I'm strong enough, but the fact that it's already able to boot is making me consider this.

Thinking of doing this too. I'm not a Zelda/Nintendo fan and I already have a ton of other awesome games to play, so I think I can wait some weeks/months.

Unless it turns out the 15 mins of Wii U footage I saw wasn't representative of the rest of the game, cause it got too framey for my liking too often.

Yeah, you are like on his level now. You both lose. And there is no guarantee that Zelda will be definitely be playable in the near future. I don't understand the hype about CEMU since you can't really play through games instead of 1 or 2 titles.

I'll double dip and get Wii U's version when emulation is perfect. I'll probably have finished it by then, but just as a demo to show to my friends will be worth it.

Are you serious? I can play Mario Galaxy 2 flawlessly in 4k through dolphin and you can't understand why people would be excited about Cemu? (or any emulator for that matter)

As someone getting the wii u version on Friday, and a Nintendo fan in general, I do hope it takes then at least a couple months. The game deserves a chance to be bought relatively piracy free (no one is rushing to pay the same price as a switch to buy a wii u they don't already own).

After that? Completely fair game, I to look forward to playing it in 4k hopefully within the year.

I'm definitely waiting. 2017 is absolutely stacked. I won't have any problems keeping myself busy while we wait for this game to get sorted out.

Ya I wonder honestly how many people who only have CEMU and dont have a Wii U would even have bought a Wii U and BotW?

My point is for those who are just pirating the game how much sales is Nintendo even losing?

Anyways my Wii U copy is on pre order I should have it on Monday and I am stoked to play it on my Wii U. In a year or 2 I will do my second play-through on CEMU.

I can't believe that almost a week before the game's actual release, it's already on the internet, and people are posting videos of them desperately trying to get it to work on an emulator.

1) I'm astonished by CEMU's progress. Incredible. Each update seems to improve so much.
2) I would love to be a fly on the wall at Nintendo's offices right now. I bet Miyamoto is just livid.

So many millions lost sales because of emulation. Well, no. But I'd like to be a fly at Nintendo too, for 1001 other reasons.

LMAO, how long haven't you looked at CEMU?

Super Mario 3D World is basically perfect and runs at 4k without issues
MK 8 too
Captain Toad too
Bayonetta 2 basically only has some audio issues to solve, is otherwise completely playable, even at 4k.
Xenoblade X is also completely playable and quite improved on 1.7.2
Wind Waker HD is also working great
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze had some bugs worked out recently, now works pretty well at full speed

That's,like, the majority of the worthwhile library right there working ranging from just fine to great. Many other titles seem relatively close to be playable as well.
