Apparently the Hylian Shield is in the castle, not sure if it is indestructible but I would guess so. I can see that becoming a popular run and grab item if it's not locked behind any other prerequisites.
The description says "When your hearts run out, you will be automatically resurrected with full health plus temporary bonus hearts"
YES I'M WEAK I COULD NOT RESIST TO KEEP SPOILING ME, HELP ME ;__;
Why the hell does Nintendo hate the Hylian shield all of a sudden?
So based on the stream, Champions don't seem to be partners (only cutscene characters you will see 5 minutes, too bad) but some other characters, like the Zora Prince will help you, right ?
Also any confirmation that Purah (the 100 years old Loli) is a Kokiri ? Seem the most plausible explanation but who knows...
Calamity Ganon stuck out of nowhere. They didn't have time to get important shit out of the castle.
I think a lot of people will do this. They can find a way to let me use the shield for more than 5 minutes. I guess I'll just have to run in there early and grab it.
Don't know why anyone expected that? Aonuma said, flat-out, at E3 that the Wolf Link amiibo was the only kind of way to get any kind of "partner character" in the game.
Damn so we can't even find a wild doggo to tame and have as a buddy?
Not a huge loss but it would have been neat.

Not a huge loss but it would have been neat. That said, I wonder how much of the scrapped animal interactivity that they had planned for Twilight Princess made it into this game, I'd love a big post mortem interview where they go through the game's different systems and the inspiration for them on a deep level. Fuck I'd buy a making of documentary
It would be nice if later on the add more companions or being able to fully tame a bear or deer.

I know I will
Same here.I will too if it is truly unbreakable.
Is it?

The champion weapons can be rebuilt if broken. It does require some rare materials though.

Dunno about the first question.I assume that end game weapons, including master sword and hylian shield are considered champion weapons?
Also, does armor have durability too?
While the Hylian Shield has a CRAZY defense stat of 90, I don't think it's 'unbreakable'. The streamer known only as 'Josh' (That's my name, too...) picked it up as a drop from one of the Stalmoblins at the castle, apparently. That probably means you'll come across the shield itself elsewhere in a chest, as loot or at a shop (maybe a quest reward?).
As far as early game goes, it'll serve you for a LONG time.
If you can upgrade shields anywhere, that'd be the best one, presumably. I'm really tempted to dash in and out of Hyrule Castle, just for that shield for my adventure. There's two more days left (in Australia) and hype levels are reaching maximum overdrive.
Man I am so glad they put this "last" on the timeline, said "fuck it" to stuff and incorporated shit from all 3. Finally a Zelda game with zero restraints. I'm actually even more excited to see where they go from here, like, how do you even follow this shit up?
Are people saying that it's last now?
I thought people were saying this is before ALttP?

I'm not loving the soundtrack as a standalone pieces of music. I think it'll be great atmospheric while playing the game, but Im' sitting here at work with the music playing and it's not doing much for me.
Good thing they arent standalone tracks
Hopefully it can be found elsewhere though an actual quest, etc. It being a random drop is total garbage.

We recently found out this game (and it's prologue) takes place 10,000 years after the last time Ganon was sealed. So presumably that is when the Guardians and Devine Beats were made as well.
So now it goes Hero of Time dies -> Imprisoning War -> ALTTP -> Link Between Worlds -> Second Imprisoning War 10k years prior -> Prophecy and unearthing super tech -> Ganon Attacks 100 years prior -> BotW
The only real mystery is where Zelda 1 and 2 fit in, but seriously, does 1 really matter and does 2 even fit with the "Sleeping Zelda named all Zeldas" thing given that she's been Zelda way before that sleeping one lol.
I'm sure they intended for the Hylian Shield to be a decent shield to get for people trying to storm the castle without freeing the Divine Beasts. By the time you "properly" get there, you'd probably have enough shields that are probably stronger than it. There might be another way to get it.
The soundtrack has some pretty amazing standalone tracks, anyway. Rito Vilage, Gerudo City, Hyrule Castle, all the boss tracks... Korok Forest is my favorite though, it's a phenomenal piece of music that's an instance classic. Spirit Tracks meets Joe Hisaishi. Gorgeous.
I'm rewatching one of the streams and holy shit that Lynel, it almost makes up for the lack of Darknuts... almost.
Holy fuck the Flurry Rush does nothing to the Lynels in this game, they still beast you. I'm so glad we can take their weapons after beating them though.
I'm thinking the prophecy from 10k years ago is just Zelda 1, and the NES game we played (whose Japanese title is the Hyrule Fantasy) was the "legend" or the oral retelling of Ganon being defeated by Link and Zelda (even though she was, like, kidnapped in the original game...). Zelda 2 was about minions trying to resurrect Ganon and not succeeding, and like this game, it has landmarks sharing names with the OoT sages.
Now that you mention it, the tapestry kinda has that Zelda 1 vibe going on with regards to the actual in-game sprites, rather than the actual artwork made for the game.
Tapestry:Level 1 : The Eagle![]()
Level 4 : The Snake![]()
Level 5 : The Lizard![]()
Level 6 : The Dragon![]()
Level 7 : The Demon![]()
Level 8 : The Lion![]()
Of that has been confirmed I knew it after seeing that cut scene with the king. It only made sense to be un the downfall timeline and seemed like it would be far, far into the future past AoL.No way this is before ALttP. The story is set 10k years after the last successful sealing of Ganon with the help of the Shiekah Divine Beasts. This seems far, far down the Downfall Timeline, probably in the future of the NES games.
Frontier Village -Married
Saw the streamer travel to Zora's Domain and complete the tasks necessary to go after Van Ruta. Loved all of the Zora designs. Thought it was interesting how a lot of Zoras dislike Hylians because of Mipha's death. Didn't help matters when they discovered that Link and Zelda are both alive. Also was kinda sad when we learn that she was Link's childhood friend/crush that made him Zora armor as apart of a Zora courtship tradition. It was nice seeing a fully fleshed out and functioning Zora's Domain compared to OoT, MM and TP. Noticed a lot of the rivers, lakes and mountains nearby were named after different Zora in the series.
The dungeon itself seemed OoT sized and manipulating the trunk/waterflow provided a lot of interesting puzzles. Overall liked what I saw.
