17-minute-long IGN look at Mass Effect Andromeda (Peebee Loyalty Mission SPOILERS)

Holy shit. Dialogue is even more condescending than it was already in ME3, if that is even possible. BioWare doesn't really respect players intelligence?

Is this her only loyalty mission? I haven't really been keeping up with all the details so far.

Loyalty missions are now chain of missions, not just one offs.

Yeah, if someone who watched could point out some time stamps of what to skip (if that's even possible) i would love to watch this without huge spoilers (again, if that's even possible)

To be honest, there's almost no cutscene whatsoever. Just combat, walking/jumping and some dialogues taken out of context. So if you were fearing story/character development spoilers, you won't see that in here.

That looks like the most boring way to play the game. I guess it reassuring for those who love to sit behind a chest high wall... whoever they are

There is a minor recurring character death spoiler in the last 2 minutes, though, so if you're trying to avoid that kind of thing, just stop watching at the 15-min mark.

Goddamn it, I hope there's a way to kill Peebee off, because she's the goddamn worst.

Also, I don't know if it's just the normal difficulty, but the guns seem weak as shit. Not a good sign.

I really don't like writing in that gameplay video and i really don't like how game constantly tells you what you should do :/

Gameplay looks alright, but dialogue constantly telling you how to beat the mission is sort of annoying. The level looks linear enough without handholding on top of it. Hopefully this is just an early mission that's still bringing the player into a comfort zone with certain concepts.

Squadmates have multiple objective for their loyalty mission now. So it's not the whole loyalty mission.

Oh this is great and how I was hoping they'd tackle loyalty missions with Andromeda.

Gameplay looked somewhat ok. It feels strange to not be able to control the group. maybe there is something i am missing.

The Asari companion was not ok but then again, i was not expecting any more Peebee footage to dislike her, her first showing back then was enough for me.

Dialog between the team was/is ok i guess, but the lines the antagonist has were not so much. I think it is too stupid and/or lazy as a method for a villain to tease and announce what they ll do. leave it open, drop breadcrumbs and let the player find out (with a video footage or some tech scanning).

There was something slight reminiscent of the Collector encounters in ME2, they felt oddly familiar.

Ok, finished. I guess the background art/graphics is really good.

Script is annoying more than anything else. If this was released to lessen fears about Peebee I don't think it's going to do so. Her commentary comes across more as obnoxious and try-hard than anything else. It's not just Peebee though, I want to stab whoever is voicing that AI. Not only is his tone absolutely boring but his comments either are tedious or obvious. It's very flat unlike Edi for comparison. I could stand Peebee but I absolutely want to turn that ship AI voice off. The villain stuff is also pretty weak and reminds me of Kai-Leng type taunting but whatever. The other thing I noticed was about Krannit. Why the fuck are you explaining who Krannit is if you've already encountered him?

There is a shitload of handholding in this video and a good chunk of the gameplay is scanning things. I can see that scanning gizmo getting old very quickly. The player wasn't exactly good so I'm not sure this is the best representation of the combat so I won't hold that against Bioware. What is concerning is how quickly Peebee goes down. She is laid out twice in non-intensive firefights on Normal. This is going to be a problem on Insane due to the lack of player control. Non-Wrex put in work though. Gunplay itself looks boring but I'm hoping later powers make up for that.

That antagonist's face during that quick cutscene looked off, in regards to animations, as well. It's Bioware though so I guess that's expected.

Usually I avoid this kind of spoiler stuff so close to launch but I want to see a long, uninterrupted gameplay slice so I'll definitely watch this.

Awesome, thanks. I'll give it a watch.

I'm not overly sensitive to that stuff, but the ME2 loyalty missions, imho, stand as some of the best, if not the best, content in that entire game.
