The party is pretty much dead if Trump and his administration are directly tied to Russia. They'd need a hard reboot.
He is currently the head of the DoJ and therefore the top investigator on this case. To recuse himself would be to waive his power over the case.

"Recuse oneself"? It means an independent attorney would be put in charge of the Trump/Russia case investigation rather than Sessions as AG.
He also used his influence to take out a media vendetta against the Central Park 5 and spent 8 years claiming the former president was not a citizen. He's not Hitler. But he is a racist and a bigot and an idiot all the same. He's scum.

I hope Paul Ryan's career is first to sink when this Trump thing crashes and burns. He pretty much stuck with Trump the whole way. Even after making statements like Trump made racists comments against a judge.

And here is Jeff Sessions spending 41 minutes in the late 90's, talking about how critical both the impeachment process and millions of taxpayer dollars spent on special prosecution proceedings were during Bill Clinton's blowjob fiasco.
The man wanted the book thrown at Clinton so badly for perjury regarding relations with Lewinski. Apparently none of that is necessary when you and those that hired you are knee deep in potentially the largest election scandal since Watergate, garnished with several servings of treason.

And as more and more of these links/leaks come to light, the Russian stance will grow even stronger.

In responding to the above poster, you seemed to imply that their assessment of Carter 2.0, just lacking decency, is accurate. It's not.
Trump also *still* thinks the Central Park 5 should have been executed.
I hope Huntsman primaries him next time. Trump is clearly worried about that, since he keeps trying to get Huntsman to take a job in the administration (currently eyeing him for ambassador to Russia).
