Fuck Best Buy I'm never buying games from them again

I usually use Amazon which has worked great. But I had some BB rewards points I had to use before they expired so I decided to use them to get RE7 on release day. Got an email the day of and told me my game was gonna get there next day. I was bummed but I wasn't THAT excited for the game so it wasn't a big deal.

THEN I had to use BB because that was the first/only place taking preorders for the Switch at the time I was ready to commit.

Lo and behold - just got two separate emails that both the Switch AND Zelda were getting delayed until Monday. Due to 'transit delay'. When I go track the shipping I can see they haven't even shipped yet. Fucking losers

So everyone is gonna be hobbled up all weekend grinding Zelda and I'm gonna be sitting here picking my butt

Guess I'll just have to play Horizon in the meantime (fantastic btw)

Anyway just had to vent
 
I bought my console, but EB Games fucked up my amiibo delivery lol. When I DM'd them to check on the progress, they deleted our message thread. lmao

First time I've ever preordered from BestBuy and did a midnight launch. Something about my preorder was fucked up, so they didn't have my system in the store. Walked away with Zelda for the Switch and no system to play it on. They said to come back tomorrow and they would try to fix it.

Never again.

Amazon is getting my Switch to me on time, but I have no idea on the status of my ZeldaME. It still claims I'm getting it tomorrow but it hasn't shipped and I haven't been charged for it yet.
 
Im annoyed that my switch isnt coming in today when I preorded the first day it was available on Amazon jp I guess shit happens.

What really sucks is I could have bought one this morning if I knew mine wasnt going to ship today :(

That's me too.

Going to check it before work tomorrow and if I don't see anything there or on UPS I'm buying a normal retail copy before work somewhere. Ain't sitting on a Switch all weekend with just fucking Bomberman to play while the rest of the world is playing Zelda.
 
Got my switch, zelda, and bomberman in person at gamestop, so those were fine.

Amazon, on the other hand, is saying our copy of 1 2 Switch is now getting here on Tuesday. So much for either release date shipping or two day shipping.
 
Think of it this way: your not camping outside and you can always complain and get a gift certificate or something.
 
I was in the Wii U thread today and yea my email from amazon says the 7th. I get mine on a "typical" game release day, a Tuesday.

I just played some LttP on my game pad while I wait. It isn't like the game is going to vanish from planet earth. Just ignore YouTube and such. I've seen plenty of people spoil games when the last level or something is on the preview screen or even on Facebook there are fan groups where people just take a picture of their progression and it's a spoiler.

There's a safe way to wait and enjoy the game when it arrives. Just be thankful you get to own a copy or can afford it.

I'd be pissed too though. If I legitimately ordered one and a vendor did that, that would ruin my weekend too. But that's how it is unless you have an alternative.

I'm kinda upset I gotta wait for my Wii U version. I mean, this is the Wii U version. I could possibly go somewhere tomorrow and find it at a store, but I trust Amazon. Sadly it's gonna have to wait a while.

This was one time I was actually jealous of the press and their early access. But I'm not gonna focus on that or worry about it. I'll have my time when it comes.
 
I'm getting my bestbuy preorder switch tomorrow for sure..

Though I do regret not getting pick up for my zelda that I preordered from walmart.com a few nights ago. If I chose pick up, I'd get it on march 7.. but now that I picked shipping, looks like i won't get it until thursday/friday. fff lol
 
Bestbuy can definitely mess up some times but other times and most of the time they are awesome. It's weird because I got both the switch and Zelda from them on Wednesday. The later you order from them the more likely they are to mess up I think.
 
Knowing Canada Post, I'm going to get a slip (or a bunch of slips) in the mail since they can't fit any of that stuff in my apartment mailbox. That means I can't pick up my system until Saturday, and that's if my stuff actually arrives tomorrow.

That single day will hurt...
 
Shit happens. It's a games console, not a kidney for transplant.

Relax a bit, and enjoy your Switch next week.

Same thing happened to me. Got an e-mail from them that says it's UPS' fault, lol. I don't mind a delay from UPS. But what I do mind is that my order was "preparing" for several days now, and instead of shipping it out a couple days earlier just to be safe, they've undoubtedly flooded UPS at the last minute.

I am part of this club, and I'm pretty mad.

I was looking forward to Logan after work, and then a marathon Zelda session when I got home. Doesn't look like that's happening now.
 
Can't you cancel your order and go buy it in person? Doesn't seem to be selling out everywhere based on gafs anecdotes, if you go in the morning you should be able to get one.
 
Same here, bumped to Monday. Plus I got Zelda through Amazon, so I'll have that cart here without anything to plug it into all weekend. That kinda sucks! Get your shit together, retailers, or don't promise release-day delivery.
 
Literally fuck Best Buy. I got a notification at 9PM that it might be delayed to Monday and official confirmation about an hour ago. I go to Japan for two weeks so now I'm fucked. I can't wait until this dumb piece of shit company goes bankrupt within the next decade. Good riddance.

Had I known earlier I would have got in line way earlier and cancelled the preorder.

Amazon fucked me over with Destiny.
Said the courier attempted delivery but he didn't. It wasn't exactly rocket science to knock on my door and hand it to me but somehow they managed to fuck this simple task up not once, but twice on consecutive days.
 
Mine is fucked as well. Looks like they lost my shipment. Never even showed up at UPS

Are you sure it's BB and not the carrier? All my BB preorders are coming today (unless UPS fucks me over).

I know a bunch of guys who's Amazon orders didn't ship until yesterday so Amazon might screw it up too.
 
Getting my initial Switch stuff from Amazon was pretty much an emotional rollercoaster.

Being a Brazil resident, I had stuff sent to a Shipito warehouse in order to get everything sent to me in one nice, big box.

Amazon's estimates were floaty all around, and until the eleventh hour I thought that Zelda wasn't going to make it for release date along with the extra Joy-cons and charging grip.

In the end, the actual game and console are already on their way and all points to a timely delivery -- but the extra Joy-cons will only be there on Tuesday.

Oh well... there's always the next parcel, I guess.

I'm brazilian, and Nintendo dont have any kind of distributor here. We have to import Switch.
So, I have to wait at least a week just to arrive here, and after all of this. Mailing is so badly. Resuming, I ll play after 2 weeks.

Wait for it... thats not all

My vendor promisse me Switch for R$ 2000 BRL, and man, this price is almost 4 times the original price. And after all of this shit, my vendor tried to extort me more 250 brl to delivery the same thing, at the same time.

Walmart screwed me over too. My Switch didnt ship until today and i wont gey it until Monday. Good thing Best Buy has delivered my games on time.
 
Here is mine, but with a twist.

I work six days a week, so finding long stretches of time to play video games is difficult. But when Uncharted 4 was coming out, I really wanted to dedicate some longform playtime where I could really give the game it's due. I did something I had never done before and took the day off of work. This cost me $130 to do, let alone the normal cost of the $60 game.

To ensure I would be able to play it as soon as possible, I preordered it digitally from PSN and preloaded the game. I decided I wasn't young and sorry enough anymore to play it at midnight, so I set my alarm for 6:00 AM.

When I woke up to play, the Uncharted 4 icon had a loading bar beneath it that was less than half full. Clicking it showed me that the entire game was redownloading, something that took almost 18 hours the first time. I was speechless. I put the system back to sleep and thought I would check back in two hours. I got in the shower, I made some eggs, I sat back down and booted up and saw, in two hours, I had made 1 GB of progress. Fucking unbelievable.

I sat there wondering what I should do. I took a day off of work to play this. This wasn't one of those "oh well, I'll just play tomorrow" things. I resolved to simply go out and buy the game at retail. The closest place to buy games was a Wal Mart about 20 minutes away.

Now, I haven't preordered a retail game since the Wii days. But opponents of preorders in general like to say you can always walk into a store on release day and buy the game. Despite having seen this not be true in the past, I remained confident I would be able to buy the game without an issue.

Wal Mart was sold out by the time I got there at 10:00 AM. The next closest vendor was a Target forty minutes from there. Target was sold out. Thirty more minutes from there, and well over an hour from my home, was the city that had its own ecosystem of stores. Their Target was sold out. Their GameStop was sold out. Their OTHER GameStop was sold out. Eventually I got the game at a Wal Mart and went home. It was now almost 2:00 PM.

I did get to play that day, but it cost me $250 plus time and gas to take the day off of work and buy the game twice. I still preorder games for day one on PSN, but I never take the day off of work anymore. It's too much of a gamble that everything will work out fine.

I have a Switch coming to my house today, but it probably won't be delivered until after I'm out of work anyway.
 
Nintendo Store UK decided to wait until the last minute to send everyone's Switches out. A good amount of us have received Royal Mail tracking codes, which either don't work, or say the parcel hasn't been received by them.

Apparently some people had theirs delivered via other couriers despite the RM tracking code.

Consequently. I have no fucking clue who has my console right now. My tracking code says Royal Mail certainly ain't received it.

This has nothing to do with Amazon by the way. Blame the lazy courier who didn't want to deliver it to you.

Put another one in the Amazon messed up group. North east MA.

Didn't ship until this morning at 1:30am. Says it will arrive on Monday. UPS tracking isn't even active yet.

Was one of the first pre orders. Also in the order was a case/Zelda Special edition.

Going to chat too, this is bullshit to not ship on time and get here on release.

Heads up, just got off chat, and was offered a whole $5 promo credit for the $500 of Switch stuff I ordered. Awesome.... They totally dropped the ball.
 
my order of zelda switch is on its way today but i have no switch so i'm kinda meh on the game right now. Thankfully i still have horizon zero dawn to play.

TheHut/zavvi went downhill years ago and since deleting my accounts with them I never looked back, since they power the nintendo store it's honestly expected.
