While I'm only about 30 minutes in, there are a number of things that are disappointing me about this game so far.
1) Despite all the focus on "Yes, you can do that" in the previews for the game, in the first 10 minutes I found 2 things - which would have made sense for me to be able to do, we're not even talking about exotic things here - which I wanted to do, which the game would not allow me to do - cut down or shake a guard tower, or cut down or shake a large tree with a large ax.
2) A big gigantic quest marker appearing on the map. And then after that, another quest marker appearing on the map. Sure, I can avoid them, but I thought part of the point was supposed be exploration and discovering things, not following along to quest markers.
3) The early introduction of "fast travel." This dis-incentivizes exploration and, when paired with the above, leads to just selecting the travel spot nearest to the quest marker, going there, and going to the little guided quest marker.
I feel like I had a couple of other issues as well (plus some system issues - such as "HD Rumble" being garbage, just like every rumble feature before it), but those were the 3 that really stood out - especially the first one. It's really disappointing to know that, after all the talk of being able to do whatever you want in this game, that there so many restrictions on what actually can and can't be done.
