I got an awesome ice spear from the spring of wisdom quest and am in a similar situation.
I spent a fuckload of time getting this spear in some desert with these giant statues..scared to use it now!!

So is there any way to repair your weapons? I'm holding onto my sledgehammer and axe even though they are about to break.
The shrine at Hateno Village is incredibly frustrating. Probably took me like 40 tries to get it right.
The weapons break way too easy. It's one of my main concerns with the game, you can get new super easy - but it's never as good as the one which just broke a second ago.
Crickets are next to rivers often. Also if you're having trouble,^ only done the first dungeon but I loved it, especially because it's - like pretty much everything in the game - is a departure from the old template.
Anyone have an idea? For the Hateno sidequest.
Nope THEY ARE GOING TO BREAK! The axe should be findable elsewhere though, I think sledgehammer can be found elsewhere too.
Was is the one with a rotating platform with a beam shooting from it?Shit i just did a really hard (for me at least) shrine. To begin with i had to go to a fucking mountain near it to enter it from the top, then it was a messy puzzle with water level and i ended finishing it by doing some trickery with the bow and falling at the last second into a door. I'm not even sure that was what i was meant to do lol.
Also there was 2 secret chest in this one. Couldn't get the second one.
So just decided to climb Mount Lanayru since someone in the village said "Hey there's something up there."
I found a dragon. Was told to cure it so I shot one of its eyes. It flew up and now I'm stuck wondering what to do. Obviously some kind of boss, but I'm guessing I'm not prepared since I have 12 strength weapons and next to no more cold resistance meals lol.
Use an axe, hammer, or 2 handed sword to break it open

I've been to two or three like that where the challenge was just getting into the shrine. One is on top a waterfall in the Jungle area and the other is atop a snowy mountain. Both have a challenge/puzzle outside the shrine.
There's one where you have to get past like 20there is a lot of those. Getting to the shrine is the challenge
Someone please tell me I can do more with the(early to mid game spoiler?)house I just bought
12 hours in and I'm just leaving second village. More exploring than I've done in a long ass time.
Can someone spoil tag an answer for me. Are dungeons the worst dungeons of series? I've been doing shrines and I like them but I would hate for the dungeons to be three room shrines like someone told me. And do all shrines and dungeons have the same theme and ceiling every time? Thanks for answer without spoiling!

The idea is to force you to use a variety of weapon types and manage them for combat. I only use my best when I'm fighitng like Black Moblins or high level enemies. By the time they break, I probably found other solid things.
I can see why this is frustrating for people but I think, as the game goes on, it's pretty good for combat variety and tactical depth.

Haven't found any minigames yet. Are there mini games in this game?
.It's not a boss as such, just climb/fly after it and shoot the eyes on the corrupted spots on its body
You can follow it gliding! Dont worry, just like anything on the game its either harmless or can 1 hit ko you, there is no in between
Hmm, I just shot a bomb arrow at the switch when the water level was low to get to the chest next to the sheikah.Yep this one!
Don't tell me if there was a simple way to finish it i'll be sad lol. I had to go to the next side with water on, put the barrel on top of the button, then create an ice cube at the exit, shoot the water crystal, but then the ice cube break so it's really messy to fall down on the right side of the door.
It sounded like me doing some trickery rather than doing a planned puzzle. But that's what's so lovely about the game.
It feels like playing a fantasy novel. Everything you do becomes a story.
They're not the same, but the dungeons in this game are def the series worst. very short, they almost don't feel like dungeons.

The very reason I play Zelda are for its labyrinth like dungeons.
Incredibly disappointing to hear. I just finished my first dungeon. Apparently the others are very similar? Wow.
May just be my most disliked Zelda tbh.

Master sword question:Do memories reduce the amount of hearts needed?
Hmm, I just shot a bomb arrow at the switch when the water level was low to get to the chest next to the sheikah.
A few quick questions:
Should I have gotten a horse before Hateno Village? Have yet to see a single one.
Are there more than two villages?
Should I save my ore or is it simply for selling? I presume there's no weapon or armor crafting?
Well its been a while since we had laberynth like dungrons right? Last few zelda games dungeons felt super lineal and it was easy to tell whwre to go next
Do all shrines have a chest? This one didn't seem to have one.
I did it... I went out and impulse bought a switch and Zelda. First time in my life I haven't saved carefully and planned my purchase. The hype has me.
Played for four hours yesterday and I'm in love. Totally glad I took the plunge.
