Oh man the (divine beast spoiler)
thunderblight ganon was intense. Getting the flurry and parry timing down was key. First time got him down to like no health but used up all my weapons, Shields, food and materials lol. Second time I only broke one sword. That's was fun. I read it was the hardest of them and you needed the master sword but I didn't have it and i got past it. One you nail the timing you're good.

Muwo Jeem Shrine just depleted me of every weapon and arrow I had. Had to finish with bombs, nice rewards though! I think I was way underleved for it and wasted a ton of precious resources.

Lol next shrine over is double difficulty, f that.

The very reason I play Zelda are for its labyrinth like dungeons.

Incredibly disappointing to hear. I just finished my first dungeon. Apparently the others are very similar? Wow.

May just be my most
disliked
Zelda tbh.

(Just saying, I haven't played BotW yet.)

Funny, I always had a love-hate relationship with dungeons in Zelda. My fond memories with my favourite Zelda games never involve dungeons but everything that happens inbetween, haha. That's because I prefer natural design over constructed puzzles and mazes.
That's why Majora's Mask is my favourite game in the series by far. Make no mistake, the dungeons were great, maybe the best in the series up until then but that's not the point...The game's core is Termina.

I think when entering a dungeon I'd rather just go to the boss straight away...I love bosses! Yeah, when I think about it I'm glad most of MM seems to take place outside of dungeons.

Actually in one of the earlier trailers for Twilight Princess you could see a huge spider boss that didn't even make it into the final game. I an interview Aonuma said something about bosses appearing out in the open outside of dungeons. Somehow I imagined TP almost exactly like BotW seems to have turned out now. History/fate is catching up, fuck yeah!

I did the same thing in a shine. Maybe it was the same one? Not sure, but I couldn't even finish, had to leave. Should have thought about the bombs, but didn't. :/

So just decided to climb Mount Lanayru since someone in the village said "Hey there's something up there."

I found a dragon. Was told to cure it so I shot one of its eyes. It flew up and now I'm stuck wondering what to do. Obviously some kind of boss, but I'm guessing I'm not prepared since I have 12 strength weapons and next to no more cold resistance meals lol.

Such a cool surprise. I went up there when I heard it mentioned in one of the
flashbacks
despite not having required gear to survive the weather. Was drip feeding myself turnips the whole way up the mountain.

Got a question about a Hateno village sidequest :
I picked the Sunshroom outside of the lab, does anyone know where I can find another one to complete the sidequest?

Speak with him again, he'll let you know what to do.
You can put the shroom on the ground, take a photo and pick it up again.

Bombs only do 12 damage and it had 1500 health, only need them for the last 150 haha... I'm up against something with 3000 health now, forget it.

I am never climbing without flint and wood. NEVER!

Start a fire, use the flame updraft and paraglide up half the cliff to save a ton of stamina

So I got to
Robbie and I'm trying to upgrade the rest of my runes, but it seems like I'm stuck with his initial dialogue options.
Am I missing something or is this possibly bugged? Is there another quest I need to finish before I can do this?

Why does there have to be a trade off? Is it because the game was designed with so much freedom? Even still they give you the slate mechanics before you start adventuring so they can still easily build thene based dungeon around the slate apps.

Curious, how do the
Yiga Ninjas
work? Are they random events encounters ala skyrim? Are they effected by the raspawn? Saw the same encounter in the same area.

Huys what do you do in the shrine close to Kakariko with a hole above it?

Also. After
impa sends you to take pictures where is the closest one?

I just shot a Bokoblin with an arrow, who fell off on a red barrel with then exploded killing the other 2.

I'm yet to figure out how to use fire updrafts for paragliding. Unless I have something to jump off I can't engage my glider before I hit the ground from my jump.

Turning off motion controls was one of the best decisions. I kept thinking the controller was off as my arrow pointer kept moving. Took me way too long. Pro HUD is the next thing I am going to try.

Speaking of broken things: the fifth tablet upgrade,
The temple locator is totally useless or? First off it seems to be beeping randomly if you are near but not that near. Secondly near can be "on the other side of the mountain". Am I using it wrong or is 'there is a temple in a 10 mile radius, good luck!' the best you can get?

Yuuup. Completed it about 2 hours ago. Pulled off the final fight by the skin of my teeth. It could not have possibly come any closer to blowing it than it did, and the way I won the fight... I resorted to things I didn't even know were possible.
You don't have to fight him. You can sneak

You can upgrade bombs with Ancient Shafts, gives more damage and lower cooldown.

Shit i just did a really hard (for me at least) shrine. To begin with i had to go to a fucking mountain near it to enter it from the top, then it was a messy puzzle with water level and i ended finishing it by doing some trickery with the bow and falling at the last second into a door. I'm not even sure that was what i was meant to do lol.

Also there was 2 secret chest in this one. Couldn't get the second one.

Shrine solution in tags
use ice and bombs

So everyone should go off the plateau by the old man's house at night and wait around. This game is blowing my mind.

It beeps hardrr if you are facing the shirine

Someone PLS help me with this shrine puzzle.

Secret of the Snowy Peak.

I found the rundown hut with the diary and the tablet on the side of the rock near it. However I'm not sure what I have to do once it's glowing. I thought I had to make a shadow with Cryonis, but it doesn't reach far enough.

Is there any lore behind the plates with apples in them? In Kakariko Village next to Impa's house there are plates on the ground with each having one apple on it. Is this some tradition or something there? Kinda like the NPC girl with something in her hair to fend off evil.

There definitely is something about that. Just now I was way up high on a mountain, saw a frog like statue and a plate just like that under it. I dropped an apple in it and Korok appeared. I love that stuff.

I wanted to explore the volcano and presumably the Goron city but the extreme heat prevented me to reach my destination. I clearly wasn't equiped for it. I had to go back down but was met with very harsh weather, rain for several days and storms. I was on the side of a mountain, freezing, with no food to warm me up, enable to climb up the slippery walls or to make a camp fire. My only option was to paraglide down to the nearest plain but it was quite far and I risked to fall in the large river below without stamina left. I managed to reach the plain by a hair only to find some lights behind trees in the distance in the stormy night. Getting closer and I was relieved to know it was a stable. For the first time, I allowed myself to take the most comfy bed so I could rest and wait the following morning for the storm to calm.

Yep this one!
Don't tell me if there was a simple way to finish it i'll be sad lol. I had to go to the next side with water on, put the barrel on top of the button, then create an ice cube at the exit, shoot the water crystal, but then the ice cube break so it's really messy to fall down on the right side of the door.

It sounded like me doing some trickery rather than doing a planned puzzle. But that's what's so lovely about the game.

My solution, including getting the second chest:

With water level high, ice cube your way to the switch that changes water level and lay down a bomb there. Go back, move the wheel wrench and then swim fast to the opposite site. If you make it, the water level will switch to low automatically. Now place the barrel on the switch to open the gate, detonate the bomb and use an ice cube to reach the second chest.

It's a testament to how great this game is that (after the first few minutes) I'm not frustrated at all about losing my 10 hour save file.

The sad part about playing the game on Wii U, is that when I later get a Switch - I need to start from the beginning, something I'll never have enough energy to do. :(

May have been answered already so sorry in advance; But, is there anyway to track how long you have been playing the game? It doesn't show up on the save file and unfortunately Switch does not have a play log. Thanks!
Anyone?

They're not the same, but the dungeons in this game are def the series worst. very short, they almost don't feel like dungeons.

Just finished my first dungeon, the
Zora one

Yeah, that was VERY disappointing. Finished it in 20 min without a single death. I'm adoring this game... it's fantastic. But these dungeons are definitely the weakest part of the game, by a lot. Yikes.

Man, this game is in every respects, officially Worth the Wait: The Game.

That's more than I can say for several other games that got me this hyped for this long.
