My coworker thinks I'm stalking her because I found her home address on a website

Did you seriously think other people were going to show up and say shit like:
"Oh yeah bro, this happens to me all the time!"

I am Korean.
Basic rule, if you'd find someone coming up to you and saying "I learned where you live last night." strange, you doing that to someone else will probably prompt the same response in their brains too.

OP, if someone you don't know that well comes up to you and says "Oh hey, I looked up where you live last night" and it doesn't feel even a LITTLE weird, you might be socially awkward.

Sharing how I got that information didn't go well when moments later in the bathroom she goes to a coworker "You wouldn't believe what Jaded just did : Before he asked me out and now he's stalking me."

LMAO why the hell would you tell her the truth? Just make up some dumb reason that makes her feel good like "I know that because everyone who's awesome is born in July!"

It makes you look good, and you save yourself all the unnecessary drama. But of course this is a GAF so this thread wouldn't exist without OP screwing up.

Why would he even do all that though? Out of nowhere?

Edit: title change? So many questions.

A mod who was brave enough to change the title but not brave enough to share who they were or that it was.

My friend years ago had a neighbor had a cat he used to pet. One day he saw it walking home and waited to pet it once it came away from the porch. A few minutes later the mother and daughter came home. "Ill say hi and ask to pet their cat" he thought. Another few minutes they stayed in the car. Eventually the father came out to tell him he's creeping out his wife and daughter. All of ten minutes had passed; He explained the situation. Great guy but this situation he was oblivious to how he was being perceived.

I don't think I'm alone in having strange situations like this happen to them.

That's textbook definition of a stalking:

http://www.dictionary.com/browse/stalker

I don't think it's morally wrong to find out some information about a person that you are interested, for example: Facebook account. but hunting for an address or any personal information is crossing the line. But blatantly admitting is just stupid and defeats the purpose of stalking in the first place lol.

You have to contain absolutely zero social skills to tell someone what you did, OP.

It's going to come off as incredibly creepy.

GAF this girl asked me if I had a girlfriend so I looked up her email, phone number, date of birth, political party and home address and then I told her what I had learned. Can you believe she called me a stalker? Dummy sure missed the mark! Good thing I was listening to her while she was in the restroom.

Good god. OP please update the first post with her scent and the results of the DNA swab test.

I mean even if you weren't trying to stalk her, she's got no reason to believe you. Finding out the address of someone you just met is pretty high up there in list of things that creep people out.

hope you learned your lesson, worst thing you could do about stalking someone is telling the person you stalked her

I'm sure many people have googled other people before, whatever, but it is definitely not normal to tell the person you were looking up their personal info.
But hey, we all make mistakes, and say things we shouldn't. I'm sure in the future when you are looking up coworkers you won't tell them.
