So I went back to the Great Plateau to clean up some stuff and whilst looking around I saw a (enemy spoiler)
giant fucking serpent dragon
in the sky in the distance.

What the hell was that? Can I fight it?

It's not an enemy, and there are more of them. There's a quest in Hateno village that is tangentially related.

When do you guys recommend starting to boost stamina over hearts? Currently on 5 hearts and ready for next upgrade

I focused on Stamina upgrades exclusively.

- makes rearing horses/animals easier
- makes climbing less of a chore/easier
- lets you swim further

Where as IMO any benefits of more Hearts don't come until you have like 8 of them - and you can generally avoid damage much easier anyway.

How do l view my recipes that I've discovered? I feel like the game tried to tell me when l first started cooking but the text disappeared before l read it.

Edit:Nevermind, see that you have to go to the cooked food item itself.

Switch's screenshot sharing doesn't give this game justice.

Check the meal in your inventory. If you eat it, the recipe is gone. Pen&Paper is kind of crucial in this game :D

I think the only way to view them is to have the item in your inventory, you can view the recipe there. It sucks because you always have to have at least one of the dish.

So out of curiosity I decided to go see what was at
the top of Mt. Lanayru
.

I was not prepared.

This happens to me way too often in this game lol.

Also I heard there's a villager who gives you hints about
memory locations
, where is he located?

It's the person
who is a painter, you'll reconize him by his canvas :P.
This person can be found
in a number of different locations, e.g. in Kakariko in front of the goddess statue,
and
I also found him at a stable in the southern zone.

after 5-6 hearts, stamina is more beneficial
You can also make food that give yellow hearts to have a buffer.

I swam behind it and pushed it to shore. In hindsight, maybe using the ice power was smarter.

The beauty of this game is that even your completely incorrect way of doing things will still work. There's usually multiple ways to approach every obstacle.

So last night I was playing in bed and saw a shooting star crash land behind a ridge in front of me. I was on my way to a shrine, but thought fuck it I'm going after this thing, cos I have no idea how rare it is. I have to pass a river, which is really wide and flowing downstream, so I'm fighting to get across. I only had 2 stamina boosting items and just as the last inch of stamina I have runs out I make it to the other side....only to be greeted by THREE Moblin stalfos AND a
Yiga swordsman
, needless to say I run for my life, but get killed by a rogue arrow...thankfully however I had a fairy so I kept running until I'd left them behind. Then commence a series of rock climbing, gliding past encampments and running for my life from enemies before morning almost hits and the light from the shooting star fades. I finally reach the spot as the sun crests over the horizon and claim my prize. I have no idea how rare this thing is, or even what to do with it, but DAMN, this game makes you feel so damn accomplished when you achieve something you set out to do. What a thrill ride.

Also I heard there's a villager who gives you hints about
memory locations
, where is he located?

He's the dude who paints. He also shows you where the first
Great Fairy
is, he's in Kakariko to begin with but travels around to other places and stables and you can find him there and show him a different photo and he'll give you hints and such. I've found all them now and they're really fun to figure out by yourself too, some I figured out by geographical landmarks and wandering around a while, which felt amazing when I found one... I even randomly ran into one of them.

So, lightning strikes......is there really way to dodge this besides finding shelter? It always feels like instadeath bullshit.

My various friends playing the game report only experiencing a small handful of bloodmoons -- ever.

Meanwhile, I get them constantly, and when they happen, they tend to happen 2 or 3 times in a row -- Like within minutes of the last bloodmoon. I've counted ten bloodmoons today, and probably 25+ since Friday.

They happen so frequently and are so disruptive that it's negatively impacting my experience in a very real way.

I think my save must be bugged. Has anyone else experienced this?

In 12ish hours played so far I've only had 3-4 Bloodmoons tops.

I assume we don't know if there are specific things that trigger the Bloodmoon?

I haven't been struck yet, always just remove my metal crap.

This is what I've been doing as well. Spent a good chunk of today just finding 3 or 4 of them. Worth it.

I had 3 within a few minutes on Mt Lanayru, once I left they started to appear at a less frequent rate though.

The German localization is top notch - i just don't get why they tend to localize certain character names instead of just items.

The low point for me so far has been Impa. She sounds like they had a mid-twenty woman smoke half a package of cigarettes and try to sound like a granny of 80. :'D

Does anyone know if you can keep playing after the final boss? or do you have to revert to a save before you go to fight?

It fits the tone of the game though.

Someone said, you can continue playing afterwards.

Don't have any metal equip (sword, shield or armor), the lighting rarely hits where you are (at least it never has to me). Heck I used it to fight once, I threw my metal sword, then use the magnet effect, push it toward the enemy and instant lighting SUMMON on him! It felt so, so satisfying to do too!

You can also throw the sword and let them grab it, then just run around them and watch the lighting hit them (happen once, though it was that the enemy already had a metal sword).

So the shrines are cool and all but man, are the main dungeons kind of disappointing. I already beat
the Zora and the Goron divine beast machine dungeons and found them to be on the short/easy side. Especially the dungeon bosses compared to some of the bigger enemies you find out in the open world.
Also have had a bit of trouble playing in handheld mode. Still haven't gotten used to the position of your fingers while holding the Switch. Not being able to have your index and middle fingers over both R/ZR and L/ZL shoulder buttons like I would on a dualshock has led to a lot of missed fired arrows.

Hm, is there a last chance or one-shot protection thing in the game? Seems like my Link has taken way too many hard blows leaving him at a quarter of a heart remaining for that to be a coincidence. Including getting stuck by lightning. Turns out, some bows are metallic, too! Of course, the lightning started a fire and... Fairy time!

I also need to figure out what to do next in the game. I've done the
bird dungeon and visited the other research lab
, but I need a new goal. Thinking of hitting a few towers, then go look for Zoras. What corner of the map should I look for those in?

Geez, only started to talk to every NPC in a town and it seems like almost everyone has something of interest in the world to say to explore. I can't keep all this information...

Either way, I'm going to find out soon. I'm about 50 hours in, just doing shrines now to have more hearts before heading to the final boss.

Okay report back to us! I just read on reddit that it wasn't possible but I'd be happy to be proven wrong haha.
