This game just vacuums up my time. Hours and hours just disappear and feel like mere minutes. I played for six hours last night without realizing it, and once I did, I was mad I didn't have more time.

Even when I was enthralled with other games - like Bloodborne - I never felt time slip away from me like this. I'll turn the game on and it feels like it is instantly two hours later. I'm going to work today for the first time since getting it and I'm having withdrawals.

Take off all your metal shit and it will (almost) never hit you. Or that's been my experience. Haven't been struck so far.
Interesting. The weapon quick menu always makes me wish there was some similar way of quickly eating. Drilling through the menu each time I need hearts is tedious.

Same for me here. haha.

That'd be nice but they're already using literally every button for something... I'm sure they considered it during the many many years of development for this game.

No I mean without the borders of the Sheikah tablet. Just the picture taken.

No. For some reason it didn't dawn on Nintendo to link the in-game camera mode with the screenshot functionality of the Switch. It's really dumb. You can't even fullscreen the photos you have taken on the slate. Super dumb!

If they thought of everything, why can't you quick-drop shields/weapons/bows with the quick swap toggle by hitting X or something? :P

Ok, does fighting a
cyclops
actually give me any worthwhile reward? Because basically every time I've fought a mini boss in the world in this game it has ended up being a waste of my time and a waste of my weapons.

So last night I was playing in bed and saw a shooting star crash land behind a ridge in front of me. I was on my way to a shrine, but thought fuck it I'm going after this thing, cos I have no idea how rare it is. I have to pass a river, which is really wide and flowing downstream, so I'm fighting to get across. I only had 2 stamina boosting items and just as the last inch of stamina I have runs out I make it to the other side....only to be greeted by THREE Moblin stalfos AND a
Yiga swordsman
, needless to say I run for my life, but get killed by a rogue arrow...thankfully however I had a fairy so I kept running until I'd left them behind. Then commence a series of rock climbing, gliding past encampments and running for my life from enemies before morning almost hits and the light from the shooting star fades. I finally reach the spot as the sun crests over the horizon and claim my prize. I have no idea how rare this thing is, or even what to do with it, but DAMN, this game makes you feel so damn accomplished when you achieve something you set out to do. What a thrill ride.

Very nice story. I created a thread just for those. Would you mind sharing it there too?

My experience is that they can only be killed with
Guardian/Ancienr weapons, any weapon that glows blue

I shouldn't have used the
spear I got in Zoras domain after the Titan. I know I can let it rebuild but shit is expensive and needs a diamond... which I sold to cover the costs of my house.

You should probably mention spoilers in the OP.

I haven't encountered a single bug yet. How did they do it? How is it even possible in such a vast world?
Also, very happy with the French VA. Reminds me of cartoons from the 80s like the Mysterious Cities of Gold.

So French VA is good? I'm playing it in English right now but considering switching it to French if it's way better than English VA

Aren't their
toenails and teeth
and stuff really potent for elixirs? I actually don't know but I'd assume so.

I wonder if Twitter is making the screenshots look worse than they are, or if the Switch really is saving them with such shitty compression. If anyone has a Micro SD card in, can they check if you get them off there via PC?

Filling my house with glowing stuff that's too cool to use.

Will keep this in mind. I don't think I've sold any yet. Thanks! Sorry for your misfortune!

guys i'm stuck on the find the fairy fountain task. Found it easily enough but can't figure out how to take a picture of it to complete the task?

Finished the first Divine Beast level last night, and I haven't been blown away by such clever level design since Mario Galaxy. I thought the game was good to that point but that quest really gave me an idea of just what to expect going forward. Had a friend over who I haven't seen in a few months and we pretty much played Zelda for 20 hours straight between the two of us and barely accomplished anything. So good.

I wish I had a Switch so I could play on my commute :(

Picked up the Wii U version since I missed Switch pre-orders.

This game is engrossing.

Kind of lame that you can't do a shrine because you break every weapon you have against one enemy and their HP doesn't even go past half. And they can 1 shot you. (
chaas qeta
shrine)

Just sounds like you're not equipped yet. Why is that lame? Mark it and come back when you've got the gear to kill it.

First Titan down! Got destroyed in my first attempt, then spent a few hours doing shrines, buying/reinforcing armor and got myself a few good wooden shields. In the second attempt the boss could still two-shot me, but that was all I really needed tbh.

The elemental weappns are so easy to abuse. Hit the enemy till the element applies (one or twice) then switch to a strong weapon. It took a long time for my ice spear to break.

I haven't put a single thing into stamina since the first prayer. Don't need it. For climbing you can usually game it and rest on the sides of the mountains. If needed you can eat stamina giving food. Hearts are much more important for me.

Does anyone know if materials in the world respawn after a certain while? I found some nice places for mining, and as it seems, selling ore is the only good source for rupees in this game.
Or are there any other ways/ places to farm rupees? I get the feeling they are extremely hard to come by in BotW whereas in previous entries you got more then you could ever spend.

How do I collect
diamonds
?

PSA don't sell your jewels 💎

You can trade 10 Luminous Stones for 1 Diamond (2 the first time you do it) to some Zora just on the end of the main bridge as you enter the domain. They're easy to farm at night since you can see which ore deposits have them.

Will keep this in mind. I don't think I've sold any yet. Thanks! Sorry for your misfortune!

Yeah. Dont sell em lol. Anyway, im like what, 4-5 hours in it. Restarting knowing what to wont be a pain and its not that far in it anyway.

Can you only cook meals on the existing pans? Or can you make or buy your own pans? I never seem to be near one when I need one

Holy shit this game, it's amazing. I'm really early in the game. Next to H
anteo
village I saw my first section of
sea, with a shrine really far away, unable to get there swimming, that's for sure.
.

Then I remember I have tagged a shrine up in a hill that could get me there. I go my way up to there, with some challenging enemies, I get to the shrine... a combat shrine "medium" something. I kicks my ass. I get out and visualize the shrine in the island.

I estimate that I won't make it, so I take a stamina elixir and head there... without knowing if I will have a way out. Get inside... is the difficult version on that challenge. I don't even try, and get out.

I already know I'm in an area way above my possibilities, but the sense of curiosity beats me. I get in a raft in the small island, heading to another island more far away.

I reach the island and...
It's an amazing challenge island that you have to do without any of your objects, and you have to sacvenge for weapons and food. Really complicated, but I enjoyed trying it, it was so exciting

THIS GAME, THIS GAME!

I got to that island last night and was like....time to go to bed. My body is not ready

You probably don't really need to restart, there are plenty of Guardians to farm for those parts. Once you learn how to fight them they aren't that big of a deal.

HOLY SHIT.

After a long gruelling successful battle with the cyclops I was just in the middle of collecting my rewards.....WHEN I GOT STRUCK BY LIGHTNING! The timing. Jesus. This. Game.
