Nier Automata Steam Page/Pre-Order Live, releasing March 17th

It would be wonderful if Square Enix could release some more information regarding the PC port of Nier Automata. I tried to reach out to the community manager that posted the pre-order announcement on Steam. No dice as of yet.

they're probably not going to say shit, just like FF13 they'll probably just tell you "it's been optimised for PC, featuring full screen support and running at 60FPS"

Its like 43€ on Instantgaming.

Never bought from them before, so I'll just wait another week, come on gmg D:

It's unlikely but I'm hoping for a price drop in April as that's when I'm getting the game.

Please be a good port!

Look like GMG has a discount. NA 49$ for me right now. Grabbed it. Can't wait for release. When this got announced it felt like a dream. Time to dunk my head in zelda and lose myself until release.

There is no way Nier will be available in other Asian regions since FFIII-FFVI had the same region lock (rest of Asia except India and Russia) and year(s) later are still not available.

SE PLZ.

Not available in my region. Fuck me. Worst comes to worst, might just have to pirate it and pay when it becomes available. Or can I have someone gift it to me? Does anyone know?

I've grabbed it from GMG as well. The game looks really good from the footage I saw of the demo, so hopefully this PC version turns out well.

It just can't be purchased in Asia. You'd be able to activate a region-free gift copy/retail key.

Hope this port isn't busted, 'cos after seeing how technically unimpressive the OG PS4 version is, I'm probably gonna order from GMG and wait until the 17th.

RIP my glorious physical copy.

Damn, my physical copy is still dated TBA.

If there is some delay with the boxed versions, I guess I'll have to go digital.

So the game is apparently £32.79 on GMG.
Is that region locked in any way? I'm in Israel, am I good to go? Asking because I didn't really follow up on this and saw that the game is not available to some people.

Didn't think I'd buy it before launch, but that price is pretty good.

The key will be region-free.

Doesn't GMG send keys day or two before or on release day?
I preordered Square Enix games from them in the past and they usually sent me the keys a few hours before release.

Once they sent me my key a few hours after the release. Maybe it depends on the publisher.

If the game has preload, I'm wondering if GMG would send the key early enough or not. I'd prefer to not wait coz downloading 50GB would take a couple of days for me. But if there is no preload, then it doesn't matter.

But why give business to a company that doesn't want my business?

Well, if it's a matter of principle, you could have your cake and eat it, too, by buying a resold key. ;) You get the game and the satisfaction of knowing that none your of money will reach Squeenix!

Heads up, if any of you got your UMvC3 preorders cancelled, the 5% coupon they offered works on Nier preorders!

Problem with that is I wanna support Yoko Taro and PG not SE.

I guess it's less of a matter of principle and just me thinking aloud. Like, who exactly benefits from the situation? What sort of message is S-E sending to their fans? Why has everything about the PC release of this game been a clusterfuck of communication in the last few months? It's so mysterious.

Use the difference in cost to buy one of Platinum's other titles!

An Adam Orthesque recommendation to move if you don't like the situation, because that worked so well last time.

GMG price is looking good but I really need some details of the port before I buy it again. If it's the same as the PS4 Pro version I'm already playing there's not much point in double dipping

If they handled the marketing better and didn't do the stupid we need better DRM thing then maybe, this way it's relegated to a 20 bucks sale purchase.
I mean, they really fucked up but it's coming a few days later still, all things considered this ended way better than it could have been.
Better than "exactly one year later even if it's ready for 9 months FFX".

Yeah, no one likes being forced to feel grateful when a company treats users of certain platform like scumbags or second class citizens.

A spoilery question about the original NieR (watching an LP):
What exactly differs between Ending A and Ending B? Anything besides the whole text-based Kaine backstory you get at the beginning? Would prefer to skip forward to the new content.
