First, the bill fails to repeal all of Obamacare's regulations and mandates, which would continue to increase costs while denying Americans the ability to get the type of coverage that best meets their needs. The entire premise of repeal has been to offer Americans something better. Keeping even some of these regulations in place is Obamacare by another name.
Second, this bill repeats the mistakes of Obamacare by creating an entitlement program for health insurance. Furthermore, it keeps Obamacare's tax hikes to fund that new government program. These subsidies would only push prices artificially higher and undermine the real structural changes to health care that Americans deserve. It would also keep Washington at the Center of our health care system, and leave Obamacare's crumbling foundation largely intact.
As the bill stands today, it is Obamacare 2.0. Passing it would be making the same mistake that President Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi made in 2010.

LMAOO this is glorious. Half hate it because it doesn't go far enough. The other half dislike it because it would fuck over many of their constituents and it would be political suicide.

No it is just being handicapped by the excessive regulation. If we get rid of licencing physicians then we could have more doctors tomorrow and more competition.

Arcane Senate rules could prove a major obstacle to congressional Republicans plans to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.
Republicans plan to use a process called budget reconciliation to pass their new health bill. The process requires all changes to have a direct impact on the federal budget, significantly constraining what can be in the replacement plan.
There are multiple provisions in the replacement plan that are unlikely to meet that requirement, according to two congressional procedure experts interviewed by Vox. This would leave Republicans in a bind: either break with decades of Senate procedure or let their health bill die.
The provisions that might not qualify include Republicans plan to encourage healthy people to buy insurance crucial to spreading the risk around and making insurance markets work and perhaps even the provision to defund Planned Parenthood.
My favorite/least favorite part of this thing is the idiotic GOP talking point that less pages in a bill means it is magically better.
Uh, no thanks. I'd rather have this well-thought out and detailed for any situation.

Wait so the White House cancelled afternoon meetings? They probably making sure everyone is on the same page and they will trash this bill.
it needs to apply to the whole republican party, not just Trump. I'm optimistic Trump won't be serving a second term (lol) but if a shitty one gets signed in then it needs to be tied to the whole republican party as a whole-not just Trump
Didnt Trump already tweet about this bill?

So with all the talk of how terrible this is, and Obamacare is still pretty bad for a large group of people.
Can Obamacare be fixed? Is it really this hard to find a universal healthcare solution in this country?
I find it sad that other first world countries has a good healthcare system in place and we're struggling to even implement one.
Yes . It is hard to have to find a universal healthcare option because republicans views it as the most evil thing that could happen to the county and their people agreed.
It will never happen because the gop would just call it "Socialized healthcare" its an instant boogeyman for their people.
Make America Poor Again!
Republicans did just fine applying Obamacare to the entire democratic party.
That's because the GOP, and its Fox News/talk radio apparatus, is quite adept at creating narratives that stick. People had a negative opinion of Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election, and they didn't even know why. It's because the GOP have been running a shit slinging campaign against her for 20 years.
Democrats have never been good at this. In all likelihood, they'll be the ones who get the blame for this shitstain of a bill.

"governemt provided healthcare" to them would ruin this country with entitlements. Make people not work.
Tea party wants a full repeal, while most other R's know that explicitly taking existing health care away from people is a poison pill for reelection. They are in a wonderful quagmire of their own making.
See? You made the boogeyman! Higher taxes! So conservatives rather die then have easy access to doctors, medicine and medical procedures at a low cost?? (I know we'll pay for it in higher taxes, but it would be worth it)
It could have been a layup, had they not spent the better part of a decade telling us Obamacare was the most horrific catastrophe in government history. They put themselves in a corner. They had to make it different enough from Obamacare to legitimately sell it as a repeal, but also make an attempt at providing premium relief. Because of the tax cuts for the rich, they were left with the impossible math problem of covering more people with less money. End result is exactly what you would expect.

Did they really paint themselves in the corner? All the mainstream GOP has to do is drop the bias for the rich in their tax cuts ideally or provide universal coverage too worse case scenario.
I mean which power players are out there publicly demanding the GOP to bend over backwards for the rich at the expense of poor folks? Maybe there's an underground effort from lobbyists and donors that I'm not aware of but this bill is pointless. And it makes no sense because Obamacare sucks.
According to the CBO, the US ran a $587 billion deficit last year, the burden was a little over 3% of GDP, and if you listen to Obama supporters Trump inherited a fantastic economy. The US won't fall apart on the math or in reality if the GOP wants to provide more tax relief to people who need it and better health care. We can afford it.

They better not call it Trumpcare. The entire Republican Party needs to have this shit pinned to them. Republicancare or Conservativecare is much more fitting and would help the public remember who actually fucked them over for years to come.A reporter at the press conference earlier suggested Trumpcare. For the love of god, do not tie this Healthcare bill to Trump. If you are going to nickname it, make sure it says front and center that Republicans did this so that people know who to be pissed off at after Trump is gone. Make it stick to them for fucking ever
