So how bad is the Switch stock situation?

How can Nintendo suck this much when it comes to stocking enough shit in stores? They were even having a hard time keeping enough stock of games!

I'm in the market for a switch but haven't been able to get one. Lord knows ppl less hardcore than me will forget about it and never buy it later.

My brother couldn't find a PS4 for a month after it was released.

Okay my Switch order is back.

Hype.

Hopefully I get it sooner rather than later.

Really was planning on Neon Red/Blue, but went ahead and ordered Grey off Amazon.es

It says it will ship the 15th, so I'll keep refreshing Target and Amazon and waiting for nowinstock alerts until then!

So this weekend maybe sounds like it will be possible to get a hold of a system in some form. My patience will be tested as some of the ebay listings are starting to get the best of me.

Don't do it, man. I promise you, within a month you will be able to buy it for the resale price. I promise you. Don't give in to the scalpers.

I have one Neon on order from Amazon.es set ship tomorrow that I'm going to cancel. I placed it when Amazon Japan mistakenly emailed everyone who imported from there that their orders were cancelled, but later backtracked and it's looking like I'll be receiving mine from Japan tomorrow.

Called a Walmart that Brickseek had 11 in stock. Of course they were sold out. Dude told me that it's probably gonna be a month, month and a half before anyone gets anything from Nintendo.

Why.

My wife walked into the Gamestop near us this morning to see if by chance there was some miraculous shipment. Can you guess what the Game Advisor™ told her?

Think of your guess, then check it against his actual answer...

Why, the fella working at the Shawnee Station Gamestop this morning at opening told her that...
if she "pre-ordered" the $500, two game bundle, she could get one in April, but that today was the LAST DAY to pre-order that, and otherwise, there's zero chance of getting one at Gametop or anywhere else until NOVEMBER! :lololol

Amazon.es just e-mail en espanol to let me know that it could be here in as early as Friday.

We in this, GAFam!

Shoutout to whoever tipped us off about Espana's wealth of Switch gold.

yeah mine was updated and I received the email saying it may be here as soon as the 10th. Nice! Big shout out to whoever figured this out with amazon.es.

Nice surprise, that :)

You guys are lucky :p, I posted the amazon.es info this morning after ordering last night and I haven't received any update on mine yet beyond "pending shipping" Please update and let us know what happens, I'm interested to hear how many meet/beat the estimated delivery.

I exhaled out of my nose

Ordered from Amazon.es this afternoon, thanks GAF and NowInStock. I selected 1-6 day global shipping. Came out to just $10 more than I would have paid here after taxes. Very happy. Plus if I somehow find one in the wild I can just cancel before it ships :).

Because these things aren't made with magic or Star Trek replicators. There's real physical and financial limitations involved. Shit sells out and it's not exclusive to Nintendo. Even Apple products sell out and are hard to obtain at launch and they're probably the best in the business when it comes to manufacturing consumer electronics. Hell, I still haven't seen a Hatchimal in a store yet. People need to ground themselves in reality when it comes to products selling out.

Coming off such a hard flop with the Wii U, it's amazing they've manufactured as many as they did.

Anyone been checking Amazon "now" or whatever its called.

I would hear stories of people nabbing nes classics with it.

Will I be able to walk in a store and buy this around 3 months from now, or will it be like the Wii where it took nearly 2 years after launch to be readily available?

They said they would deliver 2 million at launch. Just give it time. Current sales data indicates they only pushed thru 1 million.

It'll die down soon enough....😈😈😈😈😈

I'm Dutch. Can't find it online at Bol.com ( our biggest online retailer ), nor at Mediamarkt or any number of other sites ( based in NL ). There's still places where I saw a Switch itself or two for sale, but Zelda is sold out everywhere. So I don't know about the Switch itself, but I can say with reasonable certainty that the launch shipment for Zelda Switch was not sufficient for launch.

Hmm, that sucks. Could always order from Amazon UK or DE (might be free shipping on DE, those age rating symbols though, ugh), should have it sometime next week then.

edit: coolshop.nl has it in stock: https://www.coolshop.nl/product/the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild/AF4M57

Why not use the credit for Zelda( or game of choice), or a pro controller( or accessory of choice), and get the Switch unit elsewhere?
Already got Zelda..

Out of my abundant sadness I keep putting the cartridge in my mouth and absorbing the bitterness.

It's a reflection of my pain ';-(

So, Canadians with a prime account can order the blue and red switch off of Amazon.ca right now for the suggested MSRP of $399. Apparently it will ship on the 13th.

Nope. Phantom stock. Doesn't actually work when you try to ship it.

You get the following message:

We're sorry. This item is no longer available from the seller you selected. We'll move it to the Saved Items section of your Shopping Cart. From there, you can click the item to return to its product information page and try another seller.

Because it's been a succesful strategy for them financially.

There are valid reasons for nintendo to be more conservative then sony or ms when it comes to hardware projections and manufacturing ramp up. That being said this launch shit is tiresome.

You go to stores in nyc and the switch section is totally barren, like amiibo were when they first got hot. Zero consoles, zero accessories, maybe a physical game or two.

I pre ordered an ac adaptor and the hybrid cover at a brick and mortar gamestop to protect myself from this shit and it still didnt work out as the hybrid cover still has not shipped to gamestop and you cant order it anymore on the website. They told me the 10th at the earliest. Im worried that its vaporware i dont think ive ever seen any pics in the wild only the press pics.

There is little to no communication about anything. Barely any dates for software on the web eshop. All of it is tiresome and frustrating as always.

But I love their games. So I always come back.

Edit - found footage of the hybrid cover in this vid! Looks good! Hopefully i get it friday grrrr

I ordered 3 Switches, each from a different retailer, because I have a long train ride ahead of me this weekend and wanted to make sure that I got one in time. In case you're wondering: Best Buy and Amazon delivered on March 3, Target got it to me on Monday.

I returned the BB and Target ones today, in-store. The security guy at BB freaked out and was like "you're RETURNING it?!" At the customer service desk, I did the return, and a manager poked their head out of a door - the person ringing me up said "it's already sold."

The thirst is real.

Man, I'm regretting not picking up a pro controller when I bought my Switch in-store. I didn't realize those were impossible to find too.
