How can Nintendo suck this much when it comes to stocking enough shit in stores? They were even having a hard time keeping enough stock of games!
I'm in the market for a switch but haven't been able to get one. Lord knows ppl less hardcore than me will forget about it and never buy it later.
So this weekend maybe sounds like it will be possible to get a hold of a system in some form. My patience will be tested as some of the ebay listings are starting to get the best of me.
Really was planning on Neon Red/Blue, but went ahead and ordered Grey off Amazon.es
It says it will ship the 15th, so I'll keep refreshing Target and Amazon and waiting for nowinstock alerts until then!
* sigh * Not anywhere near Tampa, sadly.
If anyone is looking for one in Tampa, they have the neon console available on prime now.
Called a Walmart that Brickseek had 11 in stock. Of course they were sold out. Dude told me that it's probably gonna be a month, month and a half before anyone gets anything from Nintendo.
Why.
Amazon.es just e-mail en espanol to let me know that it could be here in as early as Friday.
We in this, GAFam!
Shoutout to whoever tipped us off about Espana's wealth of Switch gold.
I have one Neon on order from Amazon.es set ship tomorrow that I'm going to cancel. I placed it when Amazon Japan mistakenly emailed everyone who imported from there that their orders were cancelled, but later backtracked and it's looking like I'll be receiving mine from Japan tomorrow.
yeah mine was updated and I received the email saying it may be here as soon as the 10th. Nice! Big shout out to whoever figured this out with amazon.es.
My wife walked into the Gamestop near us this morning to see if by chance there was some miraculous shipment. Can you guess what the Game Advisor told her?
Think of your guess, then check it against his actual answer...
Why, the fella working at the Shawnee Station Gamestop this morning at opening told her that...if she "pre-ordered" the $500, two game bundle, she could get one in April, but that today was the LAST DAY to pre-order that, and otherwise, there's zero chance of getting one at Gametop or anywhere else until NOVEMBER! :lololol
Because making stuff takes time.
Was in a store in Indianapolis today and they just got a new shipment of 4 switches (had 3 left).

Because these things aren't made with magic or Star Trek replicators. There's real physical and financial limitations involved. Shit sells out and it's not exclusive to Nintendo. Even Apple products sell out and are hard to obtain at launch and they're probably the best in the business when it comes to manufacturing consumer electronics. Hell, I still haven't seen a Hatchimal in a store yet. People need to ground themselves in reality when it comes to products selling out.

Anyone been checking Amazon "now" or whatever its called.
I would hear stories of people nabbing nes classics with it.
They said they would deliver 2 million at launch. Just give it time. Current sales data indicates they only pushed thru 1 million. How can Nintendo suck this much when it comes to stocking enough shit in stores? They were even having a hard time keeping enough stock of games!

Will I be able to walk in a store and buy this around 3 months from now, or will it be like the Wii where it took nearly 2 years after launch to be readily available?
I'm Dutch. Can't find it online at Bol.com ( our biggest online retailer ), nor at Mediamarkt or any number of other sites ( based in NL ). There's still places where I saw a Switch itself or two for sale, but Zelda is sold out everywhere. So I don't know about the Switch itself, but I can say with reasonable certainty that the launch shipment for Zelda Switch was not sufficient for launch.
Already got Zelda..Why not use the credit for Zelda( or game of choice), or a pro controller( or accessory of choice), and get the Switch unit elsewhere?
Okay my Switch order is back.
Hype.
Hopefully I get it sooner rather than later.
So, Canadians with a prime account can order the blue and red switch off of Amazon.ca right now for the suggested MSRP of $399. Apparently it will ship on the 13th.
We're sorry. This item is no longer available from the seller you selected. We'll move it to the Saved Items section of your Shopping Cart. From there, you can click the item to return to its product information page and try another seller.
Nope. Phantom stock. Doesn't actually work when you try to ship it.
You get the following message:
