So this might be a very silly question although I'm super excited for external hd support. Does this in any way open the door for hacked/cracked games/piracy? The ps4's architecture has been rock solid thus far.
"We have a variety of off-console apps and features that make communication with other gamers easier, like the PlayStation App and PS Messages. Were adding an icon, shaped like a smartphone, which indicates a player is logged into PSN but away from their system."
You're connecting it to the PS4 through a (built-in) hub. I don't think there's a way around it. You need a different drive, with no extras. It is, though. That is the confusing part. It meets all of the requirements it is telling me to. Is it purely because this is a USB Hub also? I don't get it... really wish Sony would just respond to me.

So Bloodborne basically feels like smooth 30fps no matter what now. Pretty neat.
I thought it still had that frame pacing stuff going on. Did they fix that?

Analysis during the beta showed that Boost Mode reduced the framepacing issues in Bloodborne by about 20%, but by no means eliminated them. I don't know if the official release is any different.I hope so. I literally can't play that game because it makes me nauseous. has that strobe like effect to me.
So has anyone figured out where to find themes and avatars in the PS Store on the 4.50 update? I can no longer find the extras tab.
In Australia they've always showed up under games?! People on drugs at PlayStation Australia. They are now in the Add-ons section (lord knows why).

Uh.... no. It still feels pretty laggy to me. Even if it were locked at 30 with boost mode the pacing is all out of whack resulting in laggy controls.
Is there a design reason why all three Notifications pages look slightly different...
Icons are different sizes. I think that's literally the only reason.
Nope because ia considered an extension of your internal one and by default the directory of your share button is on the internal one.You can't move your share pictures/videos to external hdd?
Huh?They also use different images for the tiles.
Huh?
Might be a silly question but i dont quite get the new psvr blu ray 3d update...isnt ps4/ps4 pro not built with an internal blu ray player? So how am i suppose to view blu ray 3d on my psvr if the ps4 itself cant play blu ray?

The tiles under uploads are rectangular and just have the name of the game. Notifications and Downloads have square tiles and an actual image of the game like the tiles on the xmb/home screen

which seem to be saying the same thing. They also use different images for the tiles.
Notifications are awful...
It'll be similar to the testing that was done on Xbox one. I've run external SSD on Xbox one and now on my PS4 Pro yes it's much faster than the internal stardard drive not sure about SSD internal vs external on PS4 though but if the PS4 USB 3 bus is similar in performance to the Xbox Ones then it should be faster than the internal. So all this talk of external storage performing better than internal - safe to assume that the external USB connections don't have the same limiting factors as the internal bus? Be interesting to see DF do some testing on this.
Does it make a difference if I have Beast Mode on for games such as Horizon or Nioh? Is there a chance for errors or should I leave it off if I don't play older games?
