I have a feeling this game will just be as controversial as MGSV was.
Ocarina of Time is "controversial". lt doesn't mean anything.

Question for Zora's domain area
the guy on top of the mountain with the electric arrows. I snuck around and collected them all. Is it necessary to fight him-he saw me and OHKed me. I left after getting the arrows. Should I come back and fight him?

don't fight him, he's really hard.

Finally had to put down the game for today or I wouldn't get any sleep!!
I made it toLost wood, love the implementation of how you get lost there. Took me two times to notice the particles in the flame which is what you have to follow using the torch, really nice. Also love having to actually EARN the master sword...which I couldn't yet, I feel liks I need just one more heart which I'll get tomorrow and get what is mine!!

So how are people getting the10,000 rupees to power up the last Great Fairy sister?
I got it still another way:haha someone told me about that and I was like "huh"
I got through it another way.. I just watched for the white fog to come at me and step back -- then try another route. It was actually pretty easy once I started doing this.

Didn't know you could step back from the fog, that is an interesring tactic!! I tried once to get away and still got grabbed.

he was pretty tough as weak link, but my strategy of using speed potions and just running like fuck worked
just gotta be fast. run away right when you see it forming and you're fine.
What critters will give me stamina and attack up?
I don't think you ever need them tbh,☆☆ and im already taking one heart from top bosses/enemiesThe snowball minigame seems like the fastest way to get rupees though I haven't done this yet.
I killed him because I felt like the game was daring me to, and he dropped a decent sword shield and bow -- decent but not special -- as well as some monster parts.
My friend just stealthed around and avoided him, which is what hte game probably expects you to do.

I'm..surprised that's in the game.
I haven't done a dungeon yet but this is really echoing my thoughts.Really not enjoying this game as much as I feel I should be.
Trying to force myself to like it more but getting frustrated and or bored with the game over time. I'm just not sure why I can't like it like everyone else, that in itself is annoying me.
I miss the charm from the previous games. I miss the narrative buildup to the world in Wind Waker, I miss having an artstyle that feels like it hits exactly what they wanted to achieve.
I miss the articulated design and difficult, pacing and structure of these carefully crafted games. I resent the artificial nature of this games agency. Do anything you want they say, but make sure you go to the tower first. Do anywhere they say, but the enemies in that direction do four times the damage of the enemies in the other.
I miss the personality exuded by soundtracks of the previous games, I miss the combat that encouraged me to use a wide range of different skills, learning and adapting to each scenario.
I resent the combat system. I dislike shifting my equipment every few seconds. It doesn't promote variety because the functional operation of every weapon is near enough the same. There are fast weapons and slow, and that's it. Dealing 10 damage or 20 doesn't make the game any more varied, and it's not worth the stop and start gameplay experience, at least, not for me. None of these weapons have attack sets anywhere near as versatile or interesting as the default in Wind Waker or Ocarina of Time.
I miss the dungeons. I didn't even realise this was an issue until I encountered my first dungeon. A very small collection of puzzles sewn together with a boss that feels out of place and poorly designed.
I'm still enjoying it overall. The exploration is fun, when I play it, I always want to see what's around the next corner. It's nice to see a Zelda universe that feels fleshed out and believable in scale and scope, yet I can't help but miss much of the design considerations of its predecessors.
Look around the fairy fountain. And they only come during certain times of day. I wanna say Sunset because its in the name but Im pretty sure I also got them at sunrise.I can't find the damn Fireflies in Kakariko... I got 3 but then suddenly I can't find anymore anywhere. I'm even using the sensor but I still run in circles.
The real reward isMe: Oh man,was such a fun and challenging trail, I bet the shrine reward should be good.Eventide Island
Shrine: "here's 300 rupees"

How does game design work?Considering the size of the game, I feel like they could have done both, and itd be a better game for it.
You can make it through Hyrule Castle in about 3 minutes if you rush, or you can take 40 minutes or more exploring it.
I usedtothe Zora suitand I wasn't seen by any enemies at all, just stealthed right in the front door. Took no time at all.swim up waterfalls
I love OoT to death - one of the most important games of my life, maybe THE most important. But it's a healthy thing for the series that we can move on from the shadow of that game now.
The vision is sound. The only improvement I want to see in a sequel is more overworld enemy and especially overworld boss variety.
Thought I out smarted the game.
Headed to a desert with enemies well above what my weapons were capable of. Sniped the guard moblin on look out then climbed onto the skull building and started chucking (very weak) bombs inside.
After weakening a couple of them inside the third one snuck up behind me and climbed up onto the skull eye socket where I was. Son of a.
Managed to loot some 45 weapons off of them though after carefully executing all of them.
That's what makes the game special. Rather then telling the same old tale of how I had the exact same experience as you in the same lame dungeon everyone was in, I had a memorable encounter with just a couple normal enemies.
Screw dungeons, hope they never return.
Is this game really better than OoT? I haven't played the game yet.
As an OoT fan, what aspects of OoT does BotW improve upon? On the flipside, what qualities from OoT has BotW not exceeded?
So how are people getting the10,000 rupees to power up the last Great Fairy sister?
To be honest, comparing BOTW and OOT feels a little bit like comparing apples to oranges. It's kind of like comparing Super Mario World to Super Mario 64.
I actually like Super Mario World better than Mario 64. I don't think Nintendo nailed down the 3D Mario formula until Mario Galaxy.
BotW looks overwhelming with its 900 Korok seeds. Does it have anything akin to the Riddler Challenge Maps or Riddler Informants from the Arkham series of does the player have to stumbling in on them by chance?
I agree. Hyrule Castle is AMAZING and made me realize what "real" dungeons could have been like BotW style.I kinda wish the dungeons were similar to the scale of Hyrule castle.
The divine beasts in this game are still great and fun, but the open nature and exploration is what I love about this game.
Hyrule is supposed to be mainly an end game area, but it's so much fun to sneak around and loot the place when you are low level. It helps that the music playing there is rad as hell.
Gerudos only think about Voe.The game is surprisingly rife with teenage level lust. Like almost everything involving the Gerudo is about wanting to get girlfriend/boyfriend.
