What if that spot isn't there but I'm sure I'm in the right location?

Then you're probably not in the right spot lol.

Just to be clear: You do have properly started the quest, right? I don't know if the circles appear if you haven't started the quest yet.

What's the quest called?
Fuck. I think I have to talk to Impa first.

I am walking around Hateno Village and I start paying attention to things. How every NPC has something unique to tell you, something that matters. Not a side quest perse but something relevant about the village or weather. The same with how they look. For example the son of the guy that dyes clothing, they really look alike with their unique hair style, haha and it's all just very believable. In other RPGs you see kids too but it never necessarily makes you think... "hey this could be the son/daughter of that family." I like it. Same with the comments about things that are actually happening. It was pouring rain and this guy was checking to see if his crops didn't drown in water, love this stuff!

If you haven't read
Zelda's
diary in
Hyrule Castle
I strongly urge you do it. It's a great addition to the
memories
and story.

By the way, the Dye shops kid Sefaro I believe is his name. I saw him near a tree and when I talk to him he starts yelling at his buddy below about seeing the girl at the tech lab. Is there anything to this? I of course already visited the lab many times.

I do detest that every game is turned into a soulborne game. There is absolutely no reason for Zelda to have one hit death bosses in the first dungeon.

I don't think so. If you hadn't visited the tech lab yet, the village gossip is supposed to make you wonder who the little girl is they're all talking about. Obviously it's
Purah herself.
But if you have already been to the tech lab, it just shows that the townspeople don't know much about the laboratory or its operators.

Yes, I love that NPCs have unique characters and own slice of story. My favorite is Koko (one of the two children) in Kakariko Village. Try to follow her in the morning and you will know why.

If you got one-hit you obviously weren't prepared enough. The game gives you a lot of tools to deal with this.

- Get more hearts

- Get better armor

- Upgrade your armor

- Cook up some temp hearts
(2x big raddish + 2x big truffle = 18 temp hearts)
- Food buffs

etc

huh, didn't find this one, where is it? (was sure i explored the castle fully)

It's hidden in one of the rooms (dunno which one exactly anymore), behind a fake bookshelf you can remove with Magnesis.

Does anyone know how to get more Forest Dweller stuff? I would love to
didplay them in Link's house...

I tried to repeat the trial where I originally acquired them but you can't keep them anymore.

I think they are? or at least I think they are that color during the day (they change color)

Ah, you're right. I was thinking of the teal color they take on when they are glowing.

It's really cool that they thought of this because every player has their own style of playing a game like this. Some completely follow the main story at first and others just go into a random direction and explore. I happen to have followed the main quest for this bit but usually I always go my own way, haha.

Yeah that was great. I really hope that from now on all other RPGs pay attention to this because it really makes villages/towns that more interesting and believeable.

Bumped into a new great fairy completely by accident while gliding my way to somewhere. Finally. Been looking to expand my upgrades.

I really wish you could tame Lynels. Sadly the only option is to punch them and get some free damage.

Decided to make the fire dungeon. On my way to the northern mine there is this lady behind the red rocks. How do I get her out of there? I take it that I have to use the canons but how do I adjust them?

final boss: meh

I played through the game, so he started the fight with half health... ok, sure, whatever. As for the actual fight, it wasn't any harder than any other boss or major test of strength, and I never tried to brute force a Guardian since I found out about parrying. The end of the fight is just parrying 4 times and then slashing him as much as you can. That's like what the first boss in the game should have been.

and then I was like "...was that it? that better not be it."
it wasn't!

now I'm on a fucking horse, which controls terribly, and just have to do a slightly more frustrating, not harder, I didn't get hit once. a slightly more frustrating version of those pre-divine beast "shoot the thing with an arrow" things.

THAT was it? THAT was calamity ganon? that's what this whole game was leading up to?
seriously weak

You should have fighted him before doing all devine beasts thats when the final boss fight is the most fun imo.

Maybe the hard mode dlc will make it harder thst would be nice.

I'm having trouble finding a shrine that I didn't know how to access before. It's surrounded by thorns, and it's located on a small island that's guarded by those lizard-looking things. Can anyone tell me where this shrine is located?

I accidently started that fight while I was scounting the area for the memory location. Had to do a boss rush against two Blights and then fight Ganon at 3/4 health while being way underequipped. I won, but I consumed hundreds of raw ingredients and had to rely on Mipha's Prayer three times. Yes, the fight lasted long enough for the prayer to recharge twice.

Just completed the memories. Glad I did. A few of them are pretty emotional at times. Is there a video of them all in chronological order?

Yeah, I was confused when I enter the lab since the town guard said the researcher is a weird old lady.

I certainly hope that this will be one of the most influential features of Botw to all RPGs in the future.

Go to the
Tower that unlock the map of the Lanayru region
,
from there you can see the shrine in the middle of the river.

In the quest menu screen there's a tab for the recovered memories. You can watch them in order there.

I'm really mad. So far the shrines have been good about having multiple solutions and not requiring any finite resources. But this one requires arrows. Not just any arrows. Regular arrows.

It was a bitch to even get to this place and now I can't even complete it. Really annoying. To add insult to injury, they don't even sell regular arrows in the closest town. Just awful design.

The more I use it, the more I'm being convinced that there's something... wrong with how
the Master Sword
works in this game.

I'm doing final preparations for the final battle, and that means cooking, buffing, and resetting all things on a timer to be ready. And that... includes
the Master Sword
.

So I found a convenient hard surface and did jump attacks until it ran out so I can have all charges in it ready for Ganon. Because you only run out of Master Sword energy once during a big fight to learn to smash it uselessly against a metal surface before you need it. That cannot be the intention behind the design. But I can't see a better way to refresh it. And since it doesn't show how many charges are left, I must always assume it's two swings from breaking unless I know it's newly refreshed. I wish it couldn't run out while it was glowing.

Thanks for the tips. Time to go grinding stuff then. Such a weird mechanic for a Zelda game, getting to a dungeon boss but being underpowered and having to leave.

I mean, you can recover the arrows from the ground in most of the puzzles.

And I always have 100+ arrows from that time I farmed them from the Great Plateau and that section in the path leading to
Zora's Domain.

Happened to me the first time, too. I did the titan in the
Gerudo Desert
first, which many seem to think is the hardest one. Had to tuck my tail between my legs and come back a few hours later with shiny new armor and a few more hearts, too.

Btw forgot to mention fairies in my list, you can also carry fairies to auto-revive you when your hearts reach zero. I carry five of them with me at all times.

Regarding glowing blue animal:

I found this area fairly high up with a bunch of glowing animals all together....is there something specific to be done here?

I had zero arrows coming into it. You have to transfer a blue flame from one torch to an unreachable one far away. So I wouldn't be able to pick them up anyway.

you can ride the blue horse thing, the lord of the mountain, but you can register it! It's just a nice bonus, you can hit the blue rabbits for ruppies
