Nier: Automata PC performance thread

Yep, so far cutscenes seem to be rendering in real time! Glorious!

EDIT: Nevermind, that was only the in-game intro and not the later cutscenes

Anyone else having trouble maintaining 60fps on High? 980Ti/6700K here.

Edit: The prerendered cutscenes are extremely choppy.

Maaaan, some of you guys are making me paranoid. And I was already paranoid.

I can't even play MGR on my monitor, every time I connect my laptop the game crashes.

Oh no. I'm getting about 40-50fps on an overclocked gtx 980ti, i5 skylake running at 4.4ghz, 16gb ram at 1440p with these settings.

Yikes, I hope that isn't typical performance for a 980ti. My finger is on the trigger but not if that performance is typical.

yeah 980 ti / 4790k here drop the AA i got locked 60 after.

going full screen ruined windows on me i had to restart and it's definitely not 1440p waiting for someone to find a fix

and my DS4 isn't working with the game?! i use it everyday to play FOR HONOR.

Full screen seems like it has some issues. Does the game natively support borderless windowed?

Also, quick technical question. What does V-sync accomplish if the game is hard locked to 60 at the engine level and you have a GPU capable of >60 at all times?

Does anybody has this weird thing?

The tutorial boxes are always switching between keyboard and controller options and the cursor is like visible for a second every now and then in the screen :/

it's super distracting...

Nope.

I've had this issue in other games and it turned out to be a failing controller. Phantom inputs from the other device could be switching the prompts back and forth rapidly.

Woooo boy! What arbitrary resolution is it upscaling?! I just want to play this and have good performance!

I have an older rig which runs Dark Souls 3 very nicely but it is below these minimum specs.

If anyone with a GTX 750 Ti or equiv can give some impressions I'd appreciate it.

So far game runs buttery smooth for me. Had a few frame drops in a cutscene with 9S but that was a small dip. Got an i7 3770K at 4.2GHz, GTX 970, and 8GB RAM. Playing at 1080p.

You using the Steam Controller / Steam Controller tools / changed settings there? Could be a bug on that side of things. If you are straight using a 360 / xbox one pad without Steam's Controller tools, that isn't the issue and it will be something else

There is something wrong with its aspect ratio detection with full screen
The game is rendered in 16:9 so 16:10 is out

Shit port, durante save us.

I highly doubt it, only happened with this game so far.

I'm using a xbox one controller :/

Fixed:
I had my graphical tablet plugged in at the same time of the controller, unplugging the tablet has fixed the error

It does not, unfortunately!

It also seems like the game is running at 900p and upscaling the resolution to your selected fullscreen res, instead of running the game at your requested resolution. I have it set to 1080p, but even the menus are really blurry, and my steam overlay has every sign of being upscaled rather than running native.

Same for me. Disappointing.

My monitor switches to 1080i when i go fullscreen. It washes out the colours and it letterboxes the entire game. Might be the same issue that MG:R had (still has?)

Same here, but Borderless Gaming software solves it. For some reason, though, the game keeps assuming that I'm playing with a keyboard even though I didn't even touch it. The controls shortcuts are always flashing between the Xbox 360 gamepad and the keyboard. lol

Here's a quick 21:9 shot. If you have an Nvidia card and are getting the wrong aspect ratio in fullscreen, go to your GPU settings and try changing your scaling to Fullscreen.

Brilliant. Shame about the UI but at least it works. I can usually get over UI stretch.

Runs well enough, but I seem to be experiencing the same thing I did with Metal Gear Revengeance. The game seems to be skipping a frame or 2 every other second, causing stutter. Not all the time, but consistenly every 2 seconds or so. Seems like a timing issue. Small thing, but annoying as fuck.

Anyone else seeing this?
