- I am partial to the
Goron firewalker, but a weird camel
is pretty unique I gotta admit.

- Yes.

- Yes.

-YES.

- GOD yes.

The dungeon broke my brain: I think it's Majora Stone Tower-tier for me. Boss fight was crazy hard, too. Love it all.

I was stumped for a legit half an hour or so. Then it just clicked for me. You have all your tools with you and a giant room so its intimidating when you walk in. Once you start experimenting and being observant, you are rewarded.

I think the
Rito
beast is the coolest looking but the
Gerudo
beast is definitely the beast dungeon so far.
Goron
beast is cool, especially watching it move around
Death Mountain as you hike up there in real time
.

I'm kind of disappointed that the entire lore of ocarina of time and the whole 3 goddesses thing isn't valid anymore.

Was there something specific to this game that made it invalid; or are you just talking about the recent general tendency to shove them into the background while Hylia is considered the main divine presence? I'd prefer it if they didn't feature her as heavily in future games, since the Din/Nayru/Farore polytheistic iconography is more distinctive than Hylia as a lone angelic figure.

The difficulty curve is atrocious. It's literally the opposite of what it should be. A game should start easy and gradually get harder as you progress. Not start hard and get easier as you progress. The inventory management was very poorly done. The bosses were awful.

The bosses suffered enormously from the game's setup - despite it usually not being the most elegant solution, I feel like some form of scaling really was necessary. It's trivial for players to be completely overpowered by the time they reach their first Divine Beast; with the rest even more inevitably anticlimactic, unless they go out of their way to handicap themselves in every possible way. Zelda bosses may not need to be particularly difficult, but there's a difference between providing a gentle obstacle and setting it up so that they pose no resistance at all.

Scaling as simple as being based on how many previous Beasts had been completed and/or the presence of the Master Sword would at least have allowed them to fulfill their function.

The dificulty curve of Zelda has always been like that, it gets harder with new encounters, then get super easy after armor/hearts/sword upgrade.

This game is no different, the enemy scaling is there so it gets harder, but it does allow the player to get strong whenever they want instead of waiting for a plot point.

They could even have simply made the act of damaging a boss a puzzle of sorts. Get the player to figure out how to open up the bosses weak point and there's simply a set amount of hits required to beat it regardless of weapon. As for th3 damage a boss can do to a player, yeah, scale it. The bosses were easy bit they also didn't really offer much of anything unique or require much in the way of tactics or problwm solving like past Zelda bosses have.

So what you are saying is.. shoot an arrow to the eye of the boss?
Please no, never again

Side Quest: A Shady Customer
-------------------------------------------

He wants a photo of kilton or whatever the weird guy with the cool shop is called...I've got one but I'm afraid if I give him the photo that soldier guy will go kill him.

He doesn't does he?

I wish animals wouldn't dissappear so quickly if they're running away. Not the lizards but the bigger ones you want to mount. Double the range would have been nice.

Spent almost every rupee I had on the
cold resist
gear in Rito village (I only just got there). How well does that work, exactly?
Will it let me go anywhere on the map with cold climates, or are there still places that are too cold?

Any tips for Ridgeland Tower? I can't seem to get close enough to it, I get wrecked by all the
electric
enemies.

No, lol.

So much to do in this game.

I have logged around 25 hours, but have only completed 12 Shrines. (16 found)

Eventide Island is cool, I will try to challenge it again in the future.

I abandoned my horse as I have been climbing up Mountains a lot. I keep upgrading Stamina as I want to climb higher, glide longer, and run further. My poor hearts are just at 4.

I die a lot.

I found a treasure trove of gems, so I have some rupees saved up. Also Bow and Arrows all day long, wish I was rich so I could just shoot without wincing every time.

That's one convention I'd rather they didn't return to - the Divine Beasts themselves were inoffensive takes on previous weak-point bosses; light on gameplay and heavy on spectacle.

For the _blights, arbitrary HP scaling might be a better choice - it still allows the player's equipment to have some effect, but at least tailors their stats to the point that they're less likely to just fall over.

The game is played in a fundamentally different way compared to previous Zelda games - the degree to which exploration outside of a critical path (and the degree to which that path is defined) results in a far stronger incentive to do more than just go from dungeon to dungeon. It's feasible that someone would be able to go through MM without getting their sword upgraded or damage halved while doing most of the story and sidequests; here it's as if the standard course of playing the game hands you the FD mask before fighting the first boss. It's a different structure that requires an alternate design approach if the same end result is to be achieved.

Also, speaking of MM; this is totally irrelevant, but the changes they made to the Ice Arrows in 3D really are utterly bizarre with the context of how prominent the Cryonis rune is here.

I love Hestu's reaction when Link is naked

That's another great thing about this game, lots of NPCs say different things depending on the weather, time of day, what you're wearing, etc.

One time I was standing on the counter in a shop and talked to the owner, he was like "Dude, get the F off the counter like a normal person."

The cool thing about giant horses is that you can run over animals/game and farm meat that way. Was doing this East of the Hebra Mountains and now I'm stacked.

I was doing a quest where I had to get a treasure chest for someone and they had unique dialogue (and a unique update to the quest guide) for if I brought them the chest but didn't open it yet.

Are people just walking around everywhere to find everything?

>Climb a high spot (tower, mountain, etc)
>Marc everything you see
>Go there
>Never reach one of those places because you get distracted by other things you find on your way

That's been my whole experience with the game.

Listening to the whole OST right now, and MY GOD does it have some beatiful awesome pieces of music!
Especially the ones during the final boss. And Molduga

I didn't know how effective doing a circular sword cut in grass could be. Just found a fairy in the middle of a field lol. I wish I was aware of this when I was looking for 10 crickets. Would have taken like 5 minutes instead of half an hour scouring a shoreline.

So I'm filling out my compendium and I drop one of my star fragments on the floor to take a photo of it. The second it hits the ground A BLOOD MOON STARTS. And there's no fucking 10 second warning or whatever, the screen just immediately turns red and fades out. After the cutscene OF COURSE the star fragment is gone!

Is this a known use of star fragments? Does putting one on the ground trigger a blood moon? Or was a glitch? Cuz I'm friggennnnn pisssedddddd.

Anyone have any tips for the Yiga Clan Base? These guys a kicking my ass and the window for the sneak attack strike is so small that I constantly get bum rushed in the second area.

Really cool change to the formula in that place but man it can be annoying. Plus they don't allow saves in there lol.

I did not, I didn't want to scare it off. Plus a few hours worth of snowbowling has made me very rich

I tried it wasn't even paying attention but right before the arrow hit it dissappeared.

I'll have to give it a try next time it shows up.

On a completely unrelated note/different topic, I just noticed that Link's
Bondage
outfit makes you
immune to skeletons
at night. I wish I had gotten it sooner before I went to the
island that is completely dark
.

Same. I had to find beedle and drop stacks for the crickets.

If you have Stasis+ then use that to your advantage.

Guys, I spent 90 hours playing this game and already did beat the final boss. Just now I was casually walking and I discovered A WHOLE NEW VILLAGE !!!!!

I was really shocked. What an unbelievable game. I'm curious now what else am I missing. I still have the island to visit as well.

Stealth by banana. I didn't fight anyone inside the base. All that Metal Gear came to use.

You can only find 3 fairies at a time right?

Been cutting grass all the time, especially when waiting for rain to finish. Keep getting the rice and restless crickets but feels like the fairies cap out.

There might have been a chance for me to get 4 at one point but I missed it, since then I seem to be limited to 3, but maybe it just gets super rare.

Just found the
snow bowling minigame
. Someone give the writers/translators who wrote all the dialogue here a raise, lol. So many cheesy puns, I love it.

Lakeside stable quest

So while I was exploring here i got this quest from someone in the stable about the lightning and I should find out why it happens so often. I see a dragon with lightning things around him flying in this area too but I wonder what I do here? He doesn't seem to have any corruption on him like Naydra had.

I know they respawn after a red moon. At least that has been my experience. I had 5 fairies at one point.

Oh nice, okay thanks.

Also does the enemy damage scaling reset at a blood moon?

Because some of these dumb goblins are almost one shotting me with their arrows despite me having like 12 hearts. Might be time to stop killing them all for parts.

I LOVE when you are in a Shrine, there's the obvious strategy to solve the puzzle but you can go full "fuck your rules" and use the game's physics in your favour to find another way.

The problem is with
the stable

Location hint.
