Finish Gantz, or take a break and watch some Rurouni Kenshin ?
Might as well finish Gantz so you can move on.

Did you ever finish Mushishi, by the way?

They don't even show anime on CN here anymore. Edit - Well they do, but they don't show AS stuff like CB, GITS etc.
I didn't even know they showed anime still.

The anti-American sentiment was also pretty heavy handed..... is it always like this anytime the USA is involved in the show?

It's just like real life! And in the GitS universe like WWIII and IV happen and the US becomes two countries or something, the world's balance of power radically shifts and other cool things happen, shit's fairly interesting.

Yeah, Utena is poop. I hate yuri, shoujo ai, yuri subtext, all women cast, clingy girl on girl friendships, female leads who have no male interest, anything named Nanoha, k-on, strike witches etc. You know how it is.

Stop trolling.

You feel threatened by such strong female characters as Yui. It's ok.

It's not really anti-american sentiment because the series never shows enough information to make that kind of claim.

There's just some businessmen and agency guys acting pretty much how they act in all media.

One of my favorite episodes is the one where the sniper guy recounts how he met the Major partly because they show how my country apparently went to shit. For some reason that added to the awesomeness.

That episode was awesome.

The post is quite sexist reading it again.:lol

Not really, I enjoy women roles in a good anime. Not when they are bubbly with tons of fan-service and over the top exaggerated carpet munchers. I wouldn't watch Spice & Wolf with out Horo.

That's what I meant. At least that's how it comes off.

That's what happens when you don't consider your words carefully.

You wouldn't watch spice and wolf if it revolved around a female-on-female relationship?

I don't see how it's sexist, what's sexist is the shows in question. Objectifying women as mindless floozies who are just there to fullfill the viewers weird perceptions of reality.

Edit: No I would not, it's not something that I enjoy.

This guy hates lesbians, that's fucked up.
That is fucked up.

About to watch DYLR Macross. :D

I thought for the longest that this is was only a show that I enjoyed because I was a kid at time, but I'm really glad that I decided to revisit it. Its even better this time around.

It is indeed. Speaking of Macross I'll have to watch Macross TV one of these days as I've only ever seen DYRL and Plus, but damn DYRL was pretty awesome.

Huh. Someone else who sees through the sugared illusions of anime to the dark, irremediably sexist truth.

How? my scenario assumes the show would be exactly the same as it was originally, except holo would be a female instead of a male! :lol

Tears For Fears said:
I have no problem with female relationships in real life. In anime it's irritating, as much as harem guy.

Clearly you haven't met a lesbian that's a fan of the skinship grope. You'd be surprised how many there are in real life (even if it is sexual harassment).

trejo said:
I-I didn't think it was possible to hate lesbians.

And what the hell man, second season of Nanoha was pretty awesome!

My issue with lesbians is I have a bad habit of falling for them.

Rurouni Kenshin has an incongruous, arguably woeful, but oddly listenable opening theme.

This is a good start.

You mean Freckles? Does pretty well with DDR. Sorta. Ish. And why aren't you starting with the OVAs?

Holy shit

This animation is glorious.
Just remembered something there's this scene involving minmay that you are going love, judging from your comments about her.:lol

You MUST stick through the first 27 episodes, after that the show becomes REALLY good. Probably one of my favourite arcs ever. I remember, a few years back, first time watching Kenshin, throwing in the DVD one night just to put me to sleep (I liked the show, but not that much), watching episode 27, and then episode 28 came on. I ended up watching Kenshin for the rest of the night, not getting any sleep.

After Shishio arc it goes downhill fast. Amakusa arc I liked, but after that it turns into a crap sitcom.

The short, and sufficient, answer is that I don't got the OVAs.

Find them if you can. Would be hella nice if these came out on Blu Ray cause I'd buy them in a heart beat. The TV series (which you are watching) really left a bad taste in my mouth. It had some good moments but the rest I just wanted to skip entirely. Oiy.

Yeah after the second season drop it and watch the OVAs and maybe read the manga, as the OVAs only cover a small portion of the third arc. Although trust and betrayal is better then anything kenshin related manga or anime.

Ahh watching the Giant Robo finale with Mum.

Mum : "How do they fit so much into one episode?"
Me : "I know!"

If Kamina were a good pilot, actually made it with the ladies, and got shit done without relying on a kid to do all the dirty work he'd be Roy Focker.

BLASPHEMY!!!

Yeah Kamina sucks.

Edit:

And continuing my snail's pace viewing of Utena, I am glad to see that she has finally lost. PROGRESS!!!!

Also, Touga is a douchebag and everyone Utena is an idiot for not realizing it.

I'm watching the first season, then finishing Gantz, and then marathoning Macross.

Man doing the Crunchyroll free trial is literally the worst thing I could have done. I can't stay focused at the best of times, then they send me e-mails about awesome shit like Fist of the Northstar but ohohoho jokes on me! I'm in the UK and apparently a brit killed someone at Toei's dog or some shit and their series are nearly impossible to watch over here. Also there's a 50/50 chance that loading an episode will crash my browser

Is Occult Academy any good? Looks alright and could be something to watch between Gintama and more Gintama.

I tried to marathon Macross once, but then saw the most awesome attack ever and was so blown away I had to take a break.

No. Boring trash.

Looks nice though.

The most awesome attacks always involve GENIUS.

Seeing Minmei slapped up for being the homewrecking harlot she is may just have been the most heartwarming scene in all of Macross. :lol

"I wish everyone would die except us!"

....

*slap
"The fuck is wrong with you?"
