Totally fell off this game.

I got
all 4 Beasts and Master Sword and now just grinding mats to get ancient shields so I can kill guardians so I can get more mats to get ancient cores to get the armor set... Not to mention the Shrine/Cooking grind. Shieka Slate is literally just looking for hearty things at this point.

Might come back to this eventually.

O, also, I wanted to upgrade the
Barbarian Set. That needs Lynel stuff... Cycle continues, burn through food/weapons each fight, grind for more.

There is no reason to bounce off of the game. Just go finish it! Like, you're obsessing about beating Emerald Weapon when you have a shortcut to the end of North Cave, and have had it for the past 25 hours.

I recommend you to go defeat ganon early, every time you defeat a beast the final boss becomes weaker and more underwhelming.

I've already got
all four beasts and the master sword.
So at this point I don't think it can get much worse haha. I'm at about 45-50 hours, but there's a lot I probably haven't done. Mostly collecting some armor sets and stuff.

well thats a shame, they are kinda epic and I wish they would stay dead. Just did the one near
Zora place
, I actually
got the 20 shock arrrows for the quest by sneaking around
but just then I was like

what-s-the-matter-mcfly-chicken-o.gif

I still dont think I could take one without defense food tho, that shit is so good. I need to make more.

Oh and speaking of arrows, I went from 100+ normal arrows to like 20...wtf happened ;_;

But if they stayed dead you woulndt be able to farm them for upgrades.

Really wishing I hadn't bought the Wii U version and held off till I bought a Switch.

It's been a while since I've played a game with such bad frame rates issues, in certain areas it feels like watching a slideshow and really impacts my enjoyment.

I'm really enjoying the game which makes the issues all the more annoying.

Well, that was weird. I got two blood moons in the same night (one at 9:00pm and another around 2:30am)

Also, why are there so many silver enemies now. I didn't do anything else new and seems like every camp has a silver version in there. They're really annoying to fight :\

Pretty sure the game keeps track of how much ass you're kicking and starts spawning harder enemies to account for it.

Just completed my third dungeon, Gerudo, last night after playing around 80-90 hours. I don't feel at all tired of playing the game and want to take my time and do everything possible. Still one last dungeon, The Death Mountain remaining and should try to get the Master Sword next.

I believe it's linked to the amount of shrines you've finished.

Yeah, the blood moon's bugged. If you're getting too many, it's best to turn off or at least restart your Switch, it's probably a memory issue. I've had 5 blood moons in 10 minutes once.

Just completed all 4 beasts and memories and while I was thinking that I would first do a few more side quests, shrines etc. I am going straight to Hyrule Castle.

Happens to me in every open world game,as soon as I know I am close to the end I ignore everything and do the main quest without any distractions and after defeating the final boss I feel empty and don't want to continue playing for a while.

85 hours 78 shrines and 194 korok seeds found.

I will come back to the game of course maybe when there is story DLC.

I don't plan on playing anything else for a while. I'm taking my time exploring the world and marking points of interest, enjoying combat and experimentation.

I agree with you about side quest management. The inventory system in general is a pain. Small QoL improvements would go a long way toward a more fluid experience.

I wish they'd keep monster parts, animals, and food separate in the inventory.

Is there any reason to hoard basic stuff like bokoblin fangs etc? Seem to be overflowing with them

Just beat Ganon!! 🙀🙀

This is honestly the first console game since the 90s I finished playing.

Really loved playing it. Apart from the Divine Beasts.

Executive producer Saturu Iwata made me sad 😢

They are used for elixirs, selling them for rupees and
requirements to boost your armor

You can exchange monster parts at
Kilton's to get Mon, which can then be used to buy unique gear from him.

After playing 60 hours and getting 200 korok seeds, about 50 shrines, one main dungeon completed and only uncovering just over half of the map, i think I'm ready to stop exploring and just push to finish the game now. I'm going to head to the other dungeons and just blast through them and then head to Hyrule castle.

Think I've spent too much time exploring nooks and crannies and the desire to carry on is now waning. Usually i sit down to play and head in a direction and just keep getting distracted by things, but today was the first time where i just couldn't be bothered to see what was on that peak or over that hill. I forced myself to do what i set out to do.

It's a common glitch, closing out the game and fully restarting your console seems to fix it pretty good.

I dunno, silver enemies are sponges, but if you have good enough weapons and techniques they're still really not that hard to handle.

I hit that same point, too. I'm out of things to "discoverf" I'd think. Even if there's something neat looking to check out, I know it's just going to be a chest, a seed, or a shrine. Which is fine, there's some cool stuff that's worth seeing just for the sake of seeing, but I might be ready to just finish the game and stop playing it for like, 5 hours a day haha.

Youll get to a point where youll use 70 power swords for mining. Use your weapons freely, you will always find good weapons especially towards endgame.

Haha, this is true. I've been using the
Hylian
shield for shield surfing and briefly considered that might be a dumb idea, but whatever, no real reason to worry.

I know that you get "bonuses" for having a full set of a type of armour, but is that expressed anywhere in the UI? I haven't seen it.

I'm at Death Mountain and got the Goron chest armour, but wondering if there's any point to spending cash on the leg amour and helmet. Maybe I need to if it gets hotter later on...

Finished the Gerudo beast and while the other three dungeons lacked oomph, this one felt legit great.

2 memories and a bunch of stuff in the eastern desert left, then I think I finish the game up.

I think I hit all the major areas/shrines from what I can tell reading this thread and keep the remaining shrines and secrets left for whenever I'm bored and feel the need to climb some mountains.

It lists the set bonus on the Armor page on the right side next to the 3D link model (under the temperature gauge). For anti-heat armor, I think you can get by with 1 piece + elixir, but there might be some places where you need 2 pieces + elixir or 3 pieces.

On that note, beat the Death Mountain beast last night. While I would have liked some 'true' dungeons, I did like the run up to that beast and the beast itself. I think I'm a bit OP for them at this point though as I demolished the boss. Do look forward to replaying with Hard Mode DLC.

Just finished it myself.

It really is a truly wonderful experience. I think all the superlatives for the game have been exhausted, so I won't bother. I'll have to sit on the game a bit before I decide where to place it, but I'm almost certain it's in my Top 10, possibly even Top 5.

And I still have so much to do! In truth, I feel now is a good time to step away from it and play something else. I don't wanna risk burning out on it, and I feel I've had my fill for now.

But still, wonderful. And the scary thing is there are many aspects which I feel could be improved. That Aonuma said as much so early on pleases me - he wasn't being humble, he was completely right.

Exciting times to be a Zelda fan!

Are there different lock-on modes? I was in a combat shrine and although I was holding L and link was facing the enemy, the game camera was all over the place so it was disorienting. Isn't it supposed to stay behind me?

I think there is only one. I have also noticed inconsistencies. Sometimes lock on forces the enemy on camera, other times it does not even attempt to adjust the free cam. I have more luck the closer I am.

Experienced this too. I think the camera tries to 'avoid' putting the camera behind the columns and it results in the camera going haywire.

It seems like I'm the only one who completed the Gerudo beast first. The boss of that one was such a pain in the ass when I was low level that the rest were all cakewalks.

Reading everybody's order of how they think they should be done, it seems like I went from hardest to easiest.

That's weird. Never had that happen. Maybe some odd gyro glitch? I would do a restart and see if that helps. I've never had lock-on perform like that.

Edit: apparently I have just been lucky. Sounds like it is a known thing.

Combat lock on is one of the things i have issues with in this game. I've had countless deaths due to the lock on button doing nothing when pressed (especially annoying when fighting variants of the guardians which are mostly what I'm using the feature for). Game struggles to lock in to targets at times :/

Z Targeting was always so good, and the ease if which you could switch between targets in previous Zeldas has been lost in this title.

I agree I often don't use lock on.

But this game has some of my favorite combat in any video game

I've been playing for over 150 hours and I still havent been to Gerudo area. While that's on purpose as I'm saving it, i'm still loving exploring the whole place.

I just came across the bridge of hylia for the first time.
200hrs and I've not set foot in at least 2/3rds of the map. Have only seen 3 villages, Zora, Kakariko and Hateno.

What the fuck. May I ask what you have been doing? I know the game is immense but only 3 villages after 200 hours is.... What have you been doing?

Zora stone monuments quest is so annoying but each monument gives great backstory on the zora culture and the champions.

The guy will give you hints on their locations if you want it. It was fun exploring the area around Zora's Domain, but for the last two I caved in and got help. Turned out it was in places I'd already been but I'd conveniently missed just the spots where they were hiding.

Didn't feel too guilty about it, the mission was designed to make you go explore in these places, and I did, pretty thoroughly.

To do everything, is it still the shortest?

Everything? Like 100% of the game? Longest one ever, eclipses every Zelda to date by a huge margin.

I wouldn't even put that in spoiler tags to be honest. In fact, I've taken the liberty of removing your tag :P

More on-topic, you can also convert monster parts at
Kilton's night shop Fang & Bone
for exclusive currency you can spend on very useful monster gear.

So yeah, I'd hoard as much monster parts as you can.

I feel the same. I've been unable to post for the last few weeks and all the while I was just bursting with things to say about the game, but was unable to (no biggy, just couldn't log in anymore). Now that I'm able to post again, everything good (and bad) about the game has been said, so I don;t really feel the need to anymore.

Simply said: it's not my favorite Zelda, I'd still place OoT, MM, LA and LttP over it, but it's a Top-Tier Zelda for sure. I prefer traditional dungeons and items over the Sheikah slate and Shrines, but I completely understand why they went for this style and it works. I would have loved to have seen more variety in the shrines, there's too many copy/paste combat shrines and blessing shrines. I'd say remove those completely and make the overall world 15 or 20% smaller to compensate and we'd have a close to perfect game.

Another thing I don't really see mentioned is a lack of inside locations. I would have loved to see some properly designed caves or other structures, but there's hardly any of them. I loved Hyrule Castle, and I feel the game needed a few more of those type of locations. Also there's so many ruins, but never really anything of note to see or do, why not have a trapdoor every now and again that leads to an abandonend basement or something? I know they're really focused on the "open-air" adventure, but I really missed inside locations.

Also no graveyard? What the hell? I always love graveyards in Zelda games and I was so sure this was gonna have a great one simply becasue of the vastness of the game. How cold they not have even one tiny little graveyard? I was seriously lookig forward to a huge field of graves and pushing gravestones aside, hunting ghosts, finding catacombs and such, but nothing like that was anywhere to be found. Maybe it's a "don't put all your eggs in one basket" type situation and the next one is gonna have the mother of all graveyards.

Still though, even if the game isn't perfect, compared to most other games, this feels like next-level stuff. It's just better than 90% of games imo so what few criticisms I have are actually pretty light in the overall picture. I've played for close to 110 hours now and I still can't put it down. I've been playing Nier Automata in the meantime which is fun enough, but my mind's always in Hyrule.

I sincerely hope Nintendo's using BotW as a base for the next one. I hope the next one is gonna be what LA or MM were to its predecessors. At any rate, the future is looking good for Zelda as far as I'm concerned.

Just finished it myself.

That is the same way I feel. There's still loads for me to do in the game, but after 100+ hours, I felt like it was time to let this chapter close for the time being. I'd already made up my mind that this is definitely Top 5 of all time for me, and I'd rather cherish that while it lasts rather than exhaust it by squeezing every single option out of it in one go.

I will be back...And I'm looking forward to it. As the credits rolled, I completely understood Aonuma as well. It can definitely be improved, but that is like a mountaintop looking at the sky.
