Dished out some cash to get the (armor spoils)
Ancient Armor
set. Now the games feels too easy :|

And I don't want to use lower armored clothes because that's dumb.

Not gonna lie, when I don that armor, put on my
Diamond circlet
and go hunting, I feel like a badass. I was basically defenseless against the Guardians starting out and now I feel like I can take on a whole army of them.

This is the best set, the champion tunic looks so plain :/

Look at those belts and guards and layers. Just love the details.

I feel like I'm doing something wrong, I have 16 Korok seeds total, I know of obvious ways to find the Koroks, under rocks, those magnetic puzzles etc, What should I look for?
Part of the fun is discovering it bit by bit. Just focus on odd things in the environment, and check ow could you interact with it. I would say that most of them IMO are the ones under rocks (I'm around 250, so maybe it's not the case, but what I end up picking my interest).

just for curiosity, how do you guys completed the shrine quest
in the mushroom Valley where it's always raining?
I did it by
attaching balloons to the orbs and then using stasys on them while mid air and high enough to clear the wall, then hitting them so that the kinetic force would throw them on the platform... but i Don't know if that's the intended method or there a are other ways.

group of rocks in patterns, trees stumps with a leaf on them and pinwheels

What I did was
there is a kind of a slope on the north side, just before the wall.
I stasis'd the balls and threw them over the wall.

Bah. You aren't even playing with maximum armor if you're rocking the full Ancient set. You want to talk about the game being easy? Come back after a Silver Lynel barely chips away at your health because you've got an armor value of 88 with a triple defense food buff.

I have the entire map now and I only got like 38 seeds, I suck at finding them tbh.

I have more shrines than seeds >_>

So 140+ hours in and I noticed I haven't seen about a good third of the locations from the trailers yet.

I've scoured
Faron
for the giant walking skeletons in the daytime and no luck.

....So nobody else hears the bird that chirps "breath of the WILD"? It's not like they're speaking, it's that their chirp sounds like this.

You mean the skeletal Hinox? I think I only found one during the nighttime.

Getting frustrated trying to figure out how to navigate
The Lost Woods

I feel like the solution is
the trees with faces cant look at you or you get sent back
but sometimes it seems like I'm getting sent back at random? Does the game give you hints how to proceed or do you just have to figure it out?

Not sure how many hours in I am but it's a lot (like 80 at least) and I just yesterday figured out what to do with the groups of three almost identical trees scattered around. Total forehead-slapping moment.
Lol, don't worry about it. I didn't get that until my second playthrough and my first one took me around 120 hours. Man, this game...

Wait what? I have no idea what you guys are talking about and I've played this game for over 170 hours now? O.o

Think about the tools they gave you in the Lost woods.

I'm similarly at like 29 seeds after almost 50 hours.

Thing is I definitely notice some Korok seeds that I just skip because they seem slightly inconvenient lol. Knowing that there are 900 of them out there makes me kind of go meh, I'll find the ones that don't require me to waste time.

I had around 800 monster parts of Bokoblin and around 700 of Moblin and Lizalfos so I didn't struggle to get the
Dark Set

... I am kind of pressed that it seems based on the
Ocarina of Time
costume that the Champions Tunic tbh

---

Today in the morning decided to complete Kass sidequest before going to work and remembered that I only needed to complete The Hero's Cache.

I spent 200 hours into the game and until last night I discovered the solution to that riddle and I did by accident because I jumped into the water by accident and instead of using Cryonis I had Magnesis and found it and I am extra pressed because I spent like 1 hour navigating into the distance thinking that it was hidden in the middle of the sea and not that near of the rock.

The pay-off was worth it tho! Rito Village got even more amazing =3

Huuuuh? I remember seeing three trees in a weird place yesterday (and I'm also around the 80 hour mark). Legit curious, I will investigate this further.

I only want to get enough Korok seeds to max out my melee weapon inventory and even that is proving to be a challenge. And to think I might have been missing a bunch of them due to the apple tree thing...

We had a lot of trouble with this too.

The most specific hint is
use the torch to your advantage. The embers blow in the direction you should walk.
The hint the game gives you to this is
the fire and torch they give you.
But, that completely escape us. We didn't discover that hint till after we navigated the area successfully, with significant difficulty. We thought
you were meant to go to faces with trees, but that doesn't always hold true. I don't think they ever sent us back for looking at them, but I could have just missed that.

There are a couple key tips that saw us through.

1) In the very first part, you can mostly follow the lanterns. It gets trickier when you get to the checkpoint with the two lanterns. From this point, whenever you have traversed successfully from one tree to another, mark the spot on your map with a stamp. We used star stamps for this. We also used skull stamps to indicate where was not safe. This will create a path of breadcrumbs you can quickly re-walk each time you get eaten by the gloom, so you don't have to recreate your previous route from memory.

2) When the gloom is eating you, immediately back off! You can stop yourself getting eaten if you go back to a safe zone. Then, pick another tree to walk towards. If you see the gloom approaching, turn around quickly. Rinse and repeat. This took a while but worked. Also, we followed animals when we could.

Hope that helps!

Think about the tools they gave you in the Lost woods.

The torch? I've been using it, but not really understanding how I'm supposed to use it to guide the path. Hmm..

-snip-

It helps a lot! I think this should do it hopefully. Funny, I noticed how impressive the
ember effects
were, but I didn't really think they'd be helpful in any way lol.

There are fallen trees that are hollow and in the inside is a chestnut that you can break

Sometimes these chestnuts are inside are non-fallen trees as well, or hanging from a tree branch of a standing tree.

See my reply a few posts up!

Apple tree thing? Do you mean
koroks under rocks on top of trees
, or something else entirely? I don't think the ones in my spoiler tag are exclusively in apple trees, just various big trees.

I'm glad! I hope that does it - we totally missed that tip ourselves so hopefully it will be easier to accomplish it that way. I will say when we went back to check out how that works we found
the angle of the ember blowing a bit confusing
so I think our
breadcrumb method
we ended up finding a bit more fun, so if for whatever reason the intended method doesn't work for you, hopefully that alternate one will.

Finally got my Switch yesterday (!) and had a chance to play about an hour of Zelda before bed.

I was up half the night thinking about how excited I was about it. Can't wait to sink my teeth in.

I think the problem is when I explore I'm not looking out for Korok seeds, I just get them when they are in plain sight. I have like 45 after 70+ hours. It kinda sucks actually.

You gotta learn more korok tropes. Looking back I skipped a bunch cause I wasn't thinking.

big tress sometimes habe a big rock on top of them
Melting big blocks of ice in some regions
There are fallen trees that are hollow and in the inside is a chestnut that you can break
Metalic rock chained to something
Hidden behind breakable rocks
Koroks are also found on
The chestnut can also be found on regular standing trees.
There's also circles of rocks which are missing one rock to form the circle
A small box made of standing rocks in the water in which you need to throw a rock inside
A circle of water lilies that you need to dive into
Metallic blocks that you need to place in the corresponding geometrical space
Offer food (mostly apples) to statues
Special glitter that moves around a pond or up lone trees or poles
And the three trees discussed earlier

I think that's all of the hiding spots for koroks going by memory. I could be missing one entirely like just happened with the three trees though.

I just bruteforced the system by using the map and stamps... go a bit, place a stamp, continue. if you get send back, you now know where it's 'safe' to pass and where it's not, rinse and repeat until you get where you need

So I have all towers, all memories, and have completed all divine beasts. I am currently at 64 completed shrines.

I'm not sure when I should tackle Hyrule Castle. I don't think I'll have any problems if I went right now but it's hard finding a time to decide to finish it. I think I'll try and max out my hearts before doing so. I need 7 more hearts so that's 28 more shrines.

Does the game let you keep playing after the final boss or is it like most games where it reverts to the save beforehand?

I felt dumb when my wife saw me playing and told me to try offering apples to the rest of the statues instead of taking the ones already there. That tip alone got me a lot of seeds on my travels.

I'm probably at close to 50 hours in the game so far and just reading through the past few pages there is a TON of stuff that I had no idea was in the game. The scope of this thing is incredible. I can easily see myself spending another 100 hours with it before being done. Which is good, since I have nothing else to play until Mario Kart comes out...

Question about the Master Sword: what are the rules for its usage? Does it only work when glowing, like in dungeons, or does it work on other enemies like Guardians? I understand that you shouldn't use it on "normal" enemies, but do Guardians count as being under the control of Calamity?

Guardians in the overworld are under Ganon's influence. So have at them.

Guardians in shrines are not corrupted, so use other weapons for Tests of Strength.

Also, feel free to use it on normal enemies. It only takes 10 minutes to recharge and it's a decent way to save better weapons.

Others:
Burn Piles of leaves
Climb poles/towers and touch the leaf particle effect
Stand on a stump and race to a point
Chase the large yellow flower
Correctly sequence groups of flowers
The "One of these things is not like the other" applies to most puzzles
- The fruit on Trees & Cacti
- Statue offerings
- Geo shape matching with magnets

To me, it feels like the Korok puzzles are generally more difficult in the Hebra region (the ones that aren't just
a stone on a mountain top
)?

Not only those but I feel like even the Shrines in the Hebra region are more difficult than the ones in the other regions to the point that even to find them is kind of a struggle with the Sheikah Sensor.

Found my last Koroks in Hyrule Castle, just after midnight. There was a moment of panic when I was at 899 and couldn't figure out exactly which one I was missing.

One of the spots in Hyrule Castle is downright diabolical. You have to be standing at just the right position, looking at just the right angle to see it. Spoiler:
(There's a target balloon inside the bell tower, at the top.)

And if you're using a 2D map to help you for the castle, it's still quite confusing because of the castle's various subspaces. Fun!

Did anyone also do the missing Goron brother quest?

I love that it's the first time we actually see
Gorons eat rocks
.

When the Sword is glowing, is it unlimited use? And if i use the Sword at other times and just kill a few things does it recharge? Or do you have to completely deplete it before it starts to recharge?

I depletes much slower when glowing, but can still break. And it needs to 100% deplete it before it starts recharges.

Which shrine is the golf shrine? I feel like I've done it, but it only had two segments, one for a chest and one to get a spirit orb.

I forget what it's called or where it is but I had to go back every time I got a new hammer throughout my playthrough. Like 5 times. Damn things kept breaking. It wasn't until I finally got it that I realized there was a platform that leads up to the hole. I was trying to get it to land directly in the hole.

I do not mind to see this feature in Smash Bros so it would give camera feature more purpose to use.

wait are there multiple 'golf' shrines? I don't remember there being a platform... i Did in both a hole in one
