Anyone get a release date for the deluxe strategy guide? I checked, but found Amazon had cancelled mine, so I went and ordered it at Target. They have a date for April 14-17.

Guys I am 130+ hours in and I feel like the game is still getting more fun. Like every time I play. I fucked around and started a Guardian fight naked last night. Who does that?

Hesitant to tackle the last
Divine Beast
, so I am doing
Tarrey Town
.

Thing is, my last dungeon is the
Goron
one, and my next step for
Tarrey Town
was found in
Goron City
, which is triggering my dungeon impulses.

I am totally putting the dungeon off and continuing the side quest. I want to go slow.

Whew. Thanks for your advice. Sorry for all the spoilering, but I am thinking of thirsty non-BotW-owning future players. Good talk.
Heh. I've been doing a totally naked run (as much as possible at least) for my first one through the game. I'm... pretty sure its a dumb idea, but I'm committed at this point. I have a feeling it will fall apart somewhere, but I'm up to my first beast and doing ok.

I hit 80 shrines in almost exactly 80 hours and decided to finish the main story finally. I probably would have done it a lot earlier, but I didn't have a decent chance to play the game for more than an hour at a time for a long time, and I did not want to rush the ending. The final spectacle was fun, and now I can continue exploring at my leisure. I still have plenty of game left. (And I can now listen to the full soundtrack without worries! Man, it's so good.)

I absolutely love this game. I'm a huge Zelda fan and have enjoyed all the games in the series immensely, but ever since Majora's Mask (my second favorite game of all time), I've found myself hoping the games had more focus on a living world instead of dungeons. This game is basically everything I've ever hoped a game to be. I love the freedom, the emergent gameplay, the secrets, the exploration, the small stories, the wildlife and nature, the often minimalistic yet elegant presentation and music... everything really. Thinking back to the 80 hours I've spent with the game so far, I can only come up with positive things: great moments of discovery, accomplishment and excitement. Playing this game I feel like I did when playing the original Zelda at the age of 8. This is easily the best game I have ever played. I love just being in this world, watching a sunrise, finding koroks, talking to people, walking in a forest, baking a cake, climbing a mountain. Honestly, I don't think I will play anything else for a while. BotW has given me everything I want in a game, and I feel satisfied to the extent of not being interested in any other games right now. The game to end all games, really, for me.

Lol good luck and godspeed!

Nah that's actually a pretty awesome idea. :lol

Hit the 50th shrine milestone! Yay! Also found Terry Town. This is going to be the start of something wonderful! But enough random adventuring for now, gonna have to go back to Zoraland to finish the fight there first!

I never thought I'd replay an exploration-heavy game like this from the start, but knowing I can skip all that and challenge ganon whenever makes it appealing. Plus there was a lot of gameplay stuff I didn't fool around with originally.

I think when I eventually come back to this game (hopefully the hard mode and dungeon DLC is well received), Imma do a no heart or stamina upgrade run as opposed to tanking everything with hearts and defense up food. Should be fun!

Fuckin love Tarrey Town.

Every shrine
Every side quest
100% compendium
264 Korok seeds

Gonna try to get all the gear fully upgraded, need to farm red and yellow lizalfos and lynels, then collect a bunch of random crap like honey and swift violets. Let's see if I can be bothered.

Might speed around the map and kill all the Talus and Hinox after that, but no way am I doing all 900 seeds.

Just checking back in: everyone here has in fact unequipped all clothes and talked to Hestu, right? YOU MUST STRIP AND TALK TO HESTU.

Yesterdays session was good, found 3 other shrines (a bit above 40 now) and randomly popped into Koroks too
i didnt know they hide inside hollow fallen trees too...

Then I went to the forest above Lost woods, very cool mission to be honest. after that went to the south west a bit and found "forgotten temple" which seems to be full of guardians... instantly died cause I wasnt paying attention will follow up on that today :D

The painter guy was oh-so-kind to not only tell me the direction I should go, but also the name of the forest it was in. So I think you may be missing a stable.

Time to go on a horse ride along the beautiful vistas of Hyrule Field. :P

From what I've studied, every memory in the game has an associated helping quote from the painter guy. Though, I think every photo but that forest one can be found without his help easily enough.

Technically there's one he can't give a hint on because it takes place somewhere he could never have been.

Best to travel to Gerudo town at night if you haven't got the right clothes/food?

Sorry, just arrived there and there's no pot to cook food there.

Not being able to save at Yiga is fucking weaksauce. After doing it too many times I can now easily get to the other side of the room, but there's nothing there? Ugh

I had no real problem getting past the guards, but I was always stuck where you were. Try using all of your abilities in the room.

There's at least two more Korok puzzles I can think of.

Flowers that are bunched in groups of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, all nearby each other. Touch them in the right sequence to activate.

Three conspicuously lined up trees, two with one piece of fruit and one with many. On the tree with a lot of fruit, remove all the fruit except for the one that matches with the location of the fruit on the other trees.
I have never come across, or even heard of, that first one after 100+ hours and 135 seeds. Could someone point out a location where I could experience this type of Korok puzzle so I know what I'm looking for thereafter?

I wish you could craft arrows. I guess that's just a hangover after finishing Horizon but it sucks to be in a fight that basically needs arrows, and not have any. Eg one divine beast approach pretty much requires a ton of arrows but only checks you have a few shock arrows first - doesn't mention you'll be royally screwed if you're low on regular ones

Actually you can break ice blocks without arrows, if that's the one scene you had in mind.

Besides this is me:

You talking about the water divine beast approach one? In the quest someone tells you he recommends you bring 20 shock arrows.

:)

Yes that was the one. got past it eventually but used up a bunch of other arrow types I was trying to save. Also the first time I discovered you can shoot from a glide :)

Definitely going to keep stocked up on arrows now though. Aren't most shops limited with stock though?

If you're talking about
Zora region
, I think you should have plenty given that the lizalfos on the road drop arrows x5 at every kill. That's my go-to area for arrow replenishment.

As for shops, yeah pretty much they're limited in stock though just about every place sells arrow bundles.

Lynel's
are no joke man. Weapon destroyers.

Without buffs, you could waste at least 2 weapons on them. But the rewards are pretty good imo, especially their bows. Pro-tip: Riding them for extra hits of damage does not reduce weapon durability.

I read you can use Cryonis instead of arrows to break ice blocks ;)

After 180 hours with this game I still haven't found the
horse fairy.
Could somebody just point me to the general region where to find her?

If you have completed the map, the name of a place will give you the idea of where she is.

Hint:
Somewhere south of the Map

More Obvious Hint:
Southeast of Haran Lake/Highland Stable

still hard to spot the 3 Shrines I am missing with that

I know what 2 of them are but the 3rd one is still a mystery

Use a guide online which has broken up the map into each region. That way you only need to check 10ish shrines per one and it's way easier to spot the missing ones. I found the last 14 I needed that way.
